They look like a trays of caterpillars! So cute! I have had luck using a grease pencil on tags. Interesting how the leaves change shape when they mature! I love to watch you work with the babies. This video is a cuteness overload, including your little mystery surprise seedling! They should all be quite happy now! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱😃

Hi Lyn. Try chinagraph pencils for your tags. They write on most surfaces and they combine a non-fade pigment with a wax that seems to help them last for ages.

These grow so slowly. I planted mine from seeds 12 years ago. When they were smaller than these, I called them my little pine trees ❤️

Very entertaining to watch. So many seedlings, just imagine when they all grow. It will be an epiphytic jungle! I love it. 🥰 The mystery cactus, my guess is it is a Peniocereus type or an Echinocereus pentalophus. 🤔 Oh the mystery! Let me know when it flowers if I’m right. 😄😉

haha I know I hope that they don't grow too fast :-D it will be a jungle :-D I had been putting off transplanting these cuties for so long, its going to be so exciting to see what the mystery cactus turns out to be and thanks so much for the possible ID, it could be a Peniocereus or Echinocereus pentalopus

Hi Lyn, what an informative and entertaining video! Losing the names of the different varieties you just took in stride. I would've had a major panic attack! I know you potted up the mystery cactus but what about the stray succulent? You have a lot of patience and love with the seedlings. That was a lot to pot up. Sending you and Hans peace and love for a wonderful weekend from your friend in Georgia!

I tryed with my first Epiphyllum cacti from seed, selenicereus grandiflorus. They grow like crazy compared to all my desert cacti and i need to repot mine also ^^ They all have this silly littel stalk they grow on, can i burry the stalk? And do they really have to stay moist always? Gnats gona be an big issue then ^^ Thank you and best regards my friend 💚💚🌵🌵😘😘
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon Месяц назад
Hi Nick :-D thats fantastic you have grown Selenicereus grandiflorus from seed, its best to not bury the stalk as there is a possibility it could rot, once the seedlings have grown about an inch in length you can let the soil dry out a lot more in between waterings, gnats are such a pain especially with seedlings, but its safe to let the soil dry out in between waterings once the seedlings are an inch long, happy growing and thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Sunday XXXX

im confused. whats the difference between the epithelium and Hylocereus? your epiphyllum looks identical to my Hylocereus
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon 3 года назад
Hi Christian :-D Epiphyllums have much thinner leaves than Hylocereus, but there are many hybrids between the two, but they can be quite similar in appearance when they are young plants, Hylocereus is not as cold hardy as Epiphyllum and can be more cold sensitive :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful new week XXXX
