if i am not wrong then NH-44 is longest highway. NH-44 was earlierly known as NH-7. NH 44 covers the North-South Corridor of NHDP and it is officially listed as running over 3,745 km (2,327 mi) from Srinagar to Kanyakumari. It is the longest national highway in India.
If I am not wrong the ministry of road and highway carries out development and maintenance of National Highway through three agencies 1.NHAI 2.BRO 3.CPWD
ATTENTION - National Highway 44 is the longest-running major north-south National Highway in India. It starts from Srinagar and terminates in Kanyakumari; Length: 3,745 km
Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam are placed in reverse positions. It means Kolkata - Vishakapatnam - Vijayawada - Chennai. Its little imp because NH5 and NH9 meets at Vijayawada.
