1:00 aaaah yes, the classic car chase scene where they've been driving for 45 seconds flat out yet miraculously theres still another gear left with more room to accelerate. Got to love it
This scene is comedy gold. Starting with physics of the cars, it looks like it was speed up like 1.25x like those goofy 60's car chase scenes, then messing with the wrong buttons, fiddeling with the pre-selector on an automatic shifter like its a manual, mismatching the Audi from scene to scene (different versions), strange gap on Audi hood, a Mercedes E-calss catching up the W12 Audi, and so on.... This has to be a joke, I would not belive its an acutal serious "action movie".
DHD732 It’s not an S8, it’s an A8L W12 6.0. And yeah the sounds are from either the 4.2 RS4 or R8 V8’s. Both have the same engines so either is the right answer.
The fact that the e200 with a 1.8 liter 4cylinder engine with 184hp and 250nm of torque keeps up and even tries to overtake the 6.0 w12 audi a8 with 450hp and 580nm of torque is beyond me
wrong reactions, wrong sounds, strange moves like breaking while full speed, gear changing (for what?! its AT!) wrong volume knob...its a disaster not a chase....
Maybe he talking about pushing lever forward to shift up gear but that's weird thing about audi and many other cars with automatic gearboxes that allow to change gears manually 😂
Becouse of this movie I bought A8 with 4.2 engine - it’s my dream car so I walk very happy everyday becouse of it, the sound of V8 make me smile all day a whole year
This is the best mid 2000s car chase movie ever in the history,damn back in the days in 2000s action crime thriller movie much better than the new movie nowadays have a lot of cgi special effect.
I see many people are not sure what's going on here. Only the long wheelbase Audi A8L comes with the 6.0 liter 450 horsepower W12 engine. The Mercedes E class is a pre facelift w211 which did not come with the E63's 6.2 liter V8 514 horsepower engine. The strongest it could be is the E55 equipped with a 5.4 liter V8 producing 480 horsepower. Both having more power, and 150-200 kg lighter chassis would reach 100 km/h faster than the A8L. But 5 seconds into the chase they both already were running at 140 km/h so they might have had Nitrous in the trunk
It says in IMDb that it was an E500 with Elegance package, that's why it looks like one of the stock V6 or diesel versions. However that engine only produced about 306hp, that's not enough to keep up with that W12...
first of all, the a8 w12 always comes as a long version and is limited to 250km/h. so is the e class ( in this case an 2003-2006 w211 e500 ) that's why they perform so similar. only difference is that the e class needs more time to reach 100km/h (60mph)
People who argue over details on a Statham movie clip amuse me. The guy can fight hundreds of people by himself and barely get hit (Transporter 1 bus station scene), of course "reality" doesn't factor into these films. They're entertainment and nothing else lol.

I love how two American trucks are driving in Romania and the fact that 140kmh is considered stupid fast. I drive 130-140 on country roads in Bulgaria regularly in my '07 E420 Mercedes. The 220kmh later, now that's fast for a country road. I've done it, but only a few times. Rarely do you have good enough straights and no traffic to drive over 160kmh on country roads in Eastern Europe.
They re-badged a W12, if you notice, the S8 uses alloy mirror caps and has vertical chrome accents on the grille, the W12 has horizontal chrome accents and regular mirror caps

Good comment! S-600 V-12 twin turbo (w-221) --> 517 hp and 830 Nm A8 W-12 (2nd generation) --> 450 hp and 580 Nm By the way, there's a twin turbo version of the W-12 engine, but - sadly! - never used in Audis (it's only for Bentleys: the Continental and the Flying Spur).
hehe^^ I feel attracted to BMW...don´t know why I love them so much. I drove a few times with the s class from my brother, but I don´t like it so much. It feels comfortable but it´s not agile or sporty enough for my taste:D

MATTHEW CORDERO It's a different car. The VW FSI engine blew on the first one, so they had to get another one quickly. Here's my advice: Do never try to race a Benz with a Volkswagen.
That's a fun fact that AUDI wanted to show their quattro system in this conditions and it worked, but most of people watchnig this movie don't get it :)
