The goal of this one is to pass along my experience with transporting recumbent bikes. I demonstrate the 2 most popular bike racks for your car or truck. I demonstrate 2 popular recumbent bikes on the market and how you can most effectively transport them. I show you two hitch mount bike racks and the best ways to transport a recumbent bike.

Thanks Cory! Nicely done and well organized. Tray style it is for my Bacchetta.

Nice demo. The easiest recumbent for me to transport was the Bacchetta Giro 20. I had to push the chain out of the way, was all. The hardest was the very LWB Easy Racer Gold Rush. My current Agio is a little tricky, but my Bones-2 hangng rack works with a few straps to immobilize the wheels, pedals, and steering. The Bones has a bracket that extends above the hanging arms to give purchase for steadying straps. I have a sports car, so no hitch receiver. My Challenge Trike was, well, a challenge. It would fit inside my 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback if I removed the rear wheel and inserted that part of the frame first so it fit between the front seats.

Great info KutWrite! Always impressive to fit a bike in a small car.

For the tray style, can you swap the position of the padded cinch bars? The one you're using for the S40 naturally sits lower than the one being used for the Bachetta.

I think that's a great suggestion! I don't think the cinch bars swap but I could place the bacchetta in first. I think that will solve it! Thanks Tabby!

@@corybikes I have the same bike rack and you definitely can swap them out. This will put the shorter down clamp over your higher bike frame, and the longer one mounted underneath for the shorter frame which should leave space between them. The only issue I see is if the Barchetta is so low that the longer down clamp bottoms out. I've used mine with a BikeE, a Flevobike, and a Linear Roadster in various combinations. Sometimes I've had to remove a tray and flip it upside down, so that's also an option. If you have a bike with a 16" wheel, you'll need an adapter for the tray.

It's an Allen. But most of those top names are almost identical. It holds 4 bikes. Albeit very crowded.
