I understand completely that's what I'm doing right now I am 68 years old a Woman by myself trying to get get my five acres livable on Social Security pension. Hang in there guys. I am with you slowly but surely wins the race.

You life is like mine. We’re always putting out fires. If something isn’t broke down, an animal out of its pen, some critter in the garden etc, then I must be dead…😂😂Hang in there, you’ll figure it out! It’s what us mountain folk do!

So glad to see a new video and a happy face. We have had a hard week this last week had some health scares but hope all will get figured out with dr visits. I still have to get my car looked at but all the extra cash from this check went to gas for er visits. Gotta keep family safe before the work car

@@SteepintheWoods yeah I know the feeling there we have had ours cut off for a while due to funds. Finally got it back on for now and other bills will have to wait for now. We need it now more than before

My Monte Carlo had a massive vacuum leak and I had to take a chunk of metal and stick in the vacuum home and hose clamp around it. Hopefully you can find the leak and be able to pinch it off

If it's got a vacuum leak its idle will be high. I bet your running your fuel bowl out of fuel under load. Either way a intermittent problem is harder to find. Now the truck is really broke so diagnose is.

Look into vapor locking. The fuel will boil under the hood temps get high and then there is air in the fuel lines. You should be able to tell by checking the fuel level in the carb bowl when it stalls. The solution is a two port fuel filter up high with a bypass back to the fuel tank to keep constant flow of cold fuel with a separate path for air to move

It turned out to be the fuel pump, even though that was the last thing I replaced!.. I ended up switching it over to an electric pump but I'll keep a spare mechanical one in the back just in case. She's back running again, but I must have adjusted something wrong (air fuel mixture screw, timing etc) because I'm not happy with how it's running. However running is always better than not!

Keep going josh . Sods law as we say . . Whatever can go wrong . Will go wrong . . You just pick yourself up , and carry on regardless . No problem . Happens to everyone through life . . Thats what my family always said to me . If I was anymore laid back , id be horizontal . Just the way it is . Deal with things a different way . No problem . . Your mechanical problems , just a series of elimination . One piece at a time . . Jeez sounds like that old Johnny cash song . One piece at a time . Such is life . . That's so funny here we call that Murphy's Law what can go wrong will go wrong but we plug away us homesteaders it may not always be easy but will eventually get it done.

Sorry about all the bad luck! The Ford could be a multitude of issues…all you can do is trouble shoot one at a time. Could be a tiny hole in a fuel line from the tank to the filter letting air in, distributor cracked, coil, vacuum but it would Have to be a bad vacuum leak to prevent it from starting. Probably other things too. If you can get it to start you can spray the lines with some type of can spray like carb cleaner and when you hit the leak the engine will shut down.

@@ram1brn true and the easiest thing to check for is to see if it's starving for gas. Just put a little gas in a bottle and pour some down the carb throat...if she fires right up you know it was starving for gas and can start checking things like the carb screen, fuel filter and pump, clogged lines, etc although he said he had already changed the filter but those can clog quickly with a bunch of trash coming up from the tank.

It sounds like you guys know your stuff. The next time I'm down there I'll try putting gas in the carb directly. It might be better that it's finally stopped running because up until this point it was an intermittent issue.. which ment I never knew if I fixed it until it was too late! Lol I can't say for sure, because I haven't had any experience with it in the past but I believe I heard a slight spark knock on our last trip. Which is what was making me think a vacuum issue. Up until that point I was thinking it was fuel related and have changed all the lines filters and carburetor. But it's possible the fuel sending unit is having an issue inside of the tank, I haven't thought of it before because there's no moving parts back there.

Not yet but I will. So far it's been an intermittent issue which is never left us stranded but now that it's not starting at all it does make the answer more clear once found.
