This was the longest day ever! Most concerts take place at night. Somehow they attended a full concert, had mom prepare dinner, ate pie, and got arrested all in one day.
I said the same thing! Like, they left the concert and it was still early enough for them to eat dinner and for him to escape arrest a dozen times? lol
@@DonPetrushka Which was the other big issue...what were all those Dads doing there? This was a show for 13-year old kids and there's a bunch of older guys there like a pedo convention? And what teen girl especially would want her parent there?
why would a mom want her daughter to see her dad get arrested at the concert for being a serial killer! and then get left alone! if anything the mom should have came too! 🤣🤣
@@brbaic9364 So funny, I predicted the wife was in on it and I haven't even watched the show yet. Was his wife a serial killer psychologist. That was another one of my predictions and that he targeted and married her so he could learn how to go under the radar as a serial killer and not get caught.
Same. I find them to be like Twilight Zone episodes, made with lousy scripts and too much money. Remember when Shyamalan was proclaimed to be the next Spielberg? That was premature.
@@CalebTizon The white rapper kid is at times funny but a lot of cringe going on with that. I actually had a lot of fun watching The Visit, Split is amazing. I remember my first M Night WTF IS THIS moment when I went to see Lady in the Water at the theater. I think that was the first hint that this dude is making films for himself and not for the audience. You'd think after so many bombs, he'd take the criticism and do better. I haven't seen Trap yet so I didn't watch this video after the first few minutes bc I'm still holding onto hope, they said they had fun so I'll be okay with that lol
I was distracted by one question the entire time: where the hell do these cops get probable cause to detain and question every single male at a concert, based on some vague notion that the killer *might* be there. Also, even if they interviewed Cooper, how would they possibly realize he was the right guy? We are repeatedly told that he's a master manipulator and liar, he could have super easily just walked out of there with the crowd, acted totally innocent when question, and went home to his family. While I enjoyed many aspects of this film, I just found the premise so outlandishly unbelievable that it kind of ruined the whole thing for me.
Oh, and also: Why in the world did Lady Raven, and not to mention, every single EMPLOYEE, have to know about this plan? Wouldn't it seem like the less people who know about it, the better? Why explain anything to anyone? The government wants to catch this guy, so just pull up with your guys there under the guise of "extra security". Nobody has to be "in" on anything....
@@each6002 yep, the tattoo had been mentioned, but why those stuрid mufukas catched a lot of wrong guys during the concert then? It looked like a pure random
This movie has some funny moments that aren't supposed to be. My favorite was the video of Spencer getting abducted by the butcher in the van. He convinces him to walk closer to the van with his arm waving in the air like he is trying to give a kid candy. Then he snatches him by the shirt and closes the door so fast it is like 1 frame. Everyone in our theater burst out laughing.
This movie made me feel like I was taking crazy pills. 1. For her to be this huge star why were there so many people in the foyer and at concession stands all throughout her concert? 2. She’s a huge star and doesn’t leave her concert with top tier security, assistant, manager, etc.!?! It was all so nonsensical to me. I get suspending disbelief but dang
Joseph👍🏼You are so correct, there are uncountable number of ridiculous moments/scenes in this movie. Josh did a really great job playing this character. I was really expecting a huge 360 twist but there wasn't one. The only twist was Josh's wife suspecting him and throwing him under the bus. It seemed to me that Shyamalan kinda wrote this movie to highlight and feature his daughter and the movie isn't even about Lady Raven, but it is unbelievable how much screen time Lady Raven has with all of the concert scenes and after she left the venue. She has more screen time than any other actor in the movie with the exception of Josh. What also doesn't make any sense is that Cooper has been a killer for years and has gotten away with it, yet Lady Raven keeps outsmarting Cooper uncountable number of times and does the complete opposite of what Cooper tells her to do, ridiculous😂
Why would the wife tip off the police when he has their daughter with him and they're at a concert filled with families and teens? So, she didn't care to put innocent people and her daughter in harm's way? That made no sense.
I generally liked the movie, but I did feel the movie jumped the shark when Josh Hartnett is threatening Lady Raven and gets her to get him and his daughter out of the concert building. Then the movie goes on too long beyond the concert location and has two too many endings! When the movie finally did end, I found myself wanting it to go a little further!
I agree that this movie is a fun 2.5. It’s almost camp, so you grade it on a curve. I wish it took place entirely in the arena and I wish all the characters stopped explaining everything to Josh. It goes off the rails. But Josh is being goofy and it works, so I want to take this as a goofy movie. But I don’t think M Night is…I’d watch it one more time in my life.
24:53 Lady Raven’s asthma is what made Cooper stop seeing her and “perfect” and realize she was “broken” too. He tells her when he pretends to the be the limo driver that he thought she was perfect at first but then saw her “pieces” (or something to that nature). Writers frequently use asthma as a “weakness” or vulnerability.
🤞Just tonight, I saw that "Trap" wasn't being screened by critics, and I hoped "my guys" would do a spoiler review soon. 👏 Well, as usual, they did not disappoint!!!
I just caught the first showing today (10 AM on Maui) and some guy brought his toddler 😂 The kid was really into the movie. I'm an avid Shyamalan apologist so I was really into it as well lol
This has become one of my favorite channels, but now you're actually saving me money. I was all set to go to the theater to discover what the twist was, only to now know that there really isn't one. Ultimately, I will just wait for streaming to see this. I think M. Night has really painted himself into a corner with all of these twist movies. A stellar promotion, though, with the trailer giving just enough away.
I felt like I was watching Josh Hartnett play Jerry O’Connell playing the role, if that makes sense lol. It wasn’t Shyamalan’s best work, but it served its purpose on a Thursday night and I will continue to see his new projects. Great review as always guys!
That merchandise guy seems like the villain of this movie more than the dad 😂! That's who everyone talks about watching reviews or hearing about this movie. I wouldn't feel bad if he was actually arrested for collaborating and abitting lol😂
The part with the merch guy was ridiculous! It would have made more sense if it was a guy Cooper had gone to high school with or a former coworker or something. It would make more sense for the info dump he does because he would already know Cooper and wouldn’t think he was a threat. It also justifies him bringing Cooper back stage and stuff. Truly a missed opportunity here
Would of been way crazier if it was a packed Janet Jackson concert and Josh Hartnett(not The Butcher) was another serial killer just starting out but thought all the cops there were for him and Janet Jackson was the main serial killer(The Butcher) lol
i appreciate when yall share details of your viewing(s). The conversation differs when yall havent discussed it much yet or have had a chance to gush immediately after viewing. nick, your recall of historical film knowledge and you and joseph’s viewing history is amazing.
I thought Josh Hartnett did a great job playing a serial killer and it was great to see Hayley Mill's I thought she retired so it was good to see her in this movie!
i do think that the big weakness of the movie is that the first 2/3 are all based on the 2 main characters + the singer, their relationship, and then they just drop that to have his wife out of nowhere be the main 3rd person at the end
“Fractured cat and mouse” is an excellent description. I kept thinking of Kevin’s Costner’s No Way Out which I liked more. I was happy to see Josh Harnett again. Liked Josh in Oppenheimer last year, too.
The person who laughs, in the background of Nick’s Zoom was the best part of the video, made me laugh at Nick’s quips lol. We saw this movie & omg it just kept going lol. We actually had people walking out of the theater & I’ve never had that happen before. But I’d say this would be a good streaming movie. Plus Josh’s return to film & his hot vibes😮
I like bad movies, and I enjoyed this movie even though the logic is soooo fallible. I will watch it again, because Josh Hartnett was a God among men in it 😂😂 but also, he did soooo well. He really carried this role and honestly I want to see him as a psycho more often 😂😂 I know he has it in him because of his role in O! He was so evil in that movie. The story seemed like it was written in screenwriting 301. Still needs more work, not a thesis film yet!
I know you're tired of my excessive praise but, Y'all the bomb. The repartee is just delightful. Your discussion is both authoritative (from a place of film knowledge POV) and super fun. Joseph has me dying laughing a lot of the time. Your reviews have lifted my spirits more than a few times. Thanks for that. Plus I LOVE spoilers! What about KNEECAP?
Wow, I was not expecting that rating from Nick! I really enjoyed this review. M Night movies are my Go-To on planes. They seem more fun in that atmosphere 😂.
As someone who has been on tour, most likely in this situation the tour manager booked her a limo for party plans or perhaps a car ride to fly home. Even though she arrived at the venue on a tour bus that doesnt always mean the artist will leave via tour bus. So excited to see this movie now! Def was hesistant about payin money to see it.
I thought it was strange that she was leaving without anyone on her team. Manager, assistant, security, make up artist, etc. It was way too convenient and unrealistic that she left the venue with just the family.
I was honestly thoroughly confused. Josh Hartnett was the only reason I enjoyed the movie in spite of all the confusion, plot holes, questions, etc, lol!
Just got out of the theater and almost broke my ankle running to your channel! 😅and I am surprised you didn't mention that after that LONG concert when they got to the limo and house, it was still light outside!!😂😂😂 I loved it. M.Night has redeemed himself with this one.. I was on the edge of my seat...ofc .so many plot points are ridiculous. Like, how does a big star-like Lady Raven not have a whole entourage with her? How was he able to get her alone in her dressing room and alone walking to the limo and alone in the house? But I digress it was fun 😅 And i'm loving the whole album/soundtrack. I hope she tops the charts!!💫
M. Night always alludes to some story in his movies that I'd rather see than the one he ends up telling! 😂 Thats so frustrating but that being said he's always been one of my favorite storytellers!
I can't recall a single song on the soundtrack but I did think it sounded practically identical to anything we'd hear on the radio in 2024. When she sings with the piano, I could tell she had some genuine vocal ability. The few seconds we got in the Smile 2 trailer sounded more like the music I listened to in the 2000s.
Craved a review for this film from y’all the second I stepped out the theater absolutely floored that nick rated it so highly lol leaving me a lil shell shocked right now. Definitely a fun but serious shut your brain off movie. I wish it played up the camp and silliness very much a drunk sleepover party movie
I enjoyed the movie a lot It was the point where he eats the pie and then he starts having some Jason Voorhees moment with his mom I was like … bitch is this movie turning supernatural? 🤔 Plus I didnt find it realistic that he didn’t lay a hand on her after Lady Raven snatched his phone and exposed him for being the butcher.. Lastly his escape out of the limo was quite ridiculous but I was entertained by Josh’s fine ass so I was very much bias lmao
My two favourites are 1 - The Village 2 - Split. I really enjoy M.NIGHT productions. I enjoyed Servant also. I actually have two M.Night t shirts! You two lads are great. I introduced your channel to my 15 year old son & he thinks you are very entertaining and that you describe movie plots so accurately.
I remember the dreamer girl scene where the lady is telling the daughter to just go out there and be goofy and I thought that was what M Night was doing being silly idk. 🤷
