Early 1970's Baton Rouge, Louisiana ZZ Top headlined ,Trapeze then Foghat, unbelievable show Would cost you 500.00 for a ticket these days to see that show, but worth it
This band Trapeze is so good! I've loved them nearly half my life and Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley, and Dave Holland were a great combination of unique and hard-to-equal ability. I think that Deep Purple, Trapeze, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Free, that whole era and all the other great bands it's something I should have been around for. People were real then. They weren't destroying everything and ruining the planet yet.
Just one of many great bands from the 70's. Never got the recognition they should have. Glenn Hughes is now playing and singing with Joe Bonamassa in Black Country Communion.
Me and my Buddies knew all the Trapeze songs back in the day- Played them all the time for years ! Got to meet Mel galley at a Trapeze gig also-- Great band- grew up with them on the turntable
Donna Burgess I was fortunate enough to see Trapeze live in concert in Corpus Christi Texas back in 1976. The band that opened the show was Paris which featured Bob Welch , formerly of Fleetwood Mac, followed by a band that was billed as Leslie West and friends. It was a great night to party!
Saw them without Glenn just the Galleys,,,They were big in La...I bought this album in I beieive 72,,,,Glenn is one of the best white boy soul singers especially before he abused it.....
Was singing the tune ' coast to coast ' in my head the other day and remembering what a phenomenal band Trapeze was. Black cloud following me was my theme song. - Greetings from Texas-
Glenn Hughes does have one of the best white-boy soul rock voices -- I agree with a comment from 4 yrs ago! You know who else, same period? Steve Mariott of Humple Pie -- check out the song "Black Coffee" ...... Meanwhile, I wish I could download this album somewhere, but can find only CDs to buy. Simon in San Rafael, CA
Yeah I think I please put it in the 72 same thing as Black Sabbath Pink Floyd all the seventies rock part of my erra I love to play piano I'm do that right now coast to coast will our Love end love playing piano WOW!!!!!!!
Sharing lead vocals with another singer was nothing new to Glenn. He shared lead vocals with John Jones in the original lineup of Trapeze on the first album too.
