// 2023 CHANNEL UPDATE //
I’ve moved on from Mobility Mastery (self fascia release) in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of root cause discovery for pain and dis-ease that involves partner fascia release as a “diagnostics” (and regeneration) tool. Kinetix is a complete scientific methodology that I teach to friends, partners and professionals alike inside The Kinetix Academy.
My other primary focus will be the launch and growth of a new podcast and Substack community called The Human Freedom Project.
// NEW CONTENT ON RU-vid //
Sometime in 2023 I will return to RU-vid with HFP podcast episodes and content created to help you know and understand yourself as a whole organism made of body, soul and spirit. This content will feature the Kinetix methodology, pain science, fascia secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in private practice, neuroscience and evolving beyond the brain, trauma and the body, and more! I’m excited to go on this new adventure with you.
********** // VIDEO DESCRIPTION // *********
There’s a lot of talk about releasing trapped emotions or stuck emotions from the body. But can we REALLY “release” them from the body? And if so - how?
My perspective is that we’ve oversimplified and over-intellectualized this concept.
A simpler approach is to let our bodies inform us of what’s inside, guiding us to the experiences we need to create mind-body alignment.
Any time we approach the body with an agenda, we become goal-oriented.
And it’s really difficult to allow natural responses to occur when we’re goal-oriented.
In this video I’m sharing the different ways I’ve personally experienced “releasing” emotions from my body, or more accurately - the way I’ve experienced emotional responses to bodywork, yoga and other physical modalities.
The thing is (and we don’t talk about this enough) things like fascia release, certain yoga poses, massage - they can all trigger trauma responses, and we might feel emotional as that’s happening.
But if we’re not aware of this, and if we don’t know how to work with what’s happening consciously, we run the risk of further ingraining those trauma responses as neural loops. Which means we’ll continue having the same kind of reaction to the same trigger or stimulus, until we interrupt that neural loop and replace it with something else.
This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do this activities. In fact, we can use this knowledge to purposefully trigger ourselves with the intention to rewire our nervous systems, replacing those old neural pathways with new ones of our choosing.
And then, there are the emotions we feel in the present moment, in relationship to our bodies, to pain, to past events and our memories of them. There’s a lot of nuance to our ability to FEEL as human beings, and it’s not as cut and dry as just sitting in pigeon pose and crying. You might be crying as a release, but you might be crying in a trauma response, or as your adult self gets in touch with past memories.
Learning the nuance of possible experience, and approaching the body with curiosity and NO ASSUMPTIONS, is the best way I know to get accurate information about exactly what is being stored inside of you. Because you might experience something totally different from me, if we’re presented with the same trigger.
