The same exact thing happened to me years ago when I lived alone. I was in the bathroom getting ready for an event. My best friend was en route to my house. I had very loud music playing in the living rm when I got locked in the bathroom. The music was so loud I knew my upstairs neighbors couldn’t hear me banging & yelling. I prayed “God please let the music stop so when my bff gets hear she can hear me yelling for help!” About 25 mins later I heard her banging & banging on my front door. She heard the music & wondered why I wouldn’t come to the door. By a freakish miracle my front door was unlocked! I heard her enter calling my name & I fell on my knees in tears thanking God. She had to take the door off the hinges to get me out smh
Even her cousin could no hear her calling for help her cousin will open the door because her father ask her because she was missing for 17 hours and she did not answers all the calls.
Yes "Powder Room" Always provide near by main entry! In UAE almost in all type of appartment you can find out easily! Now i realize the benifits as well!
This has happened to me and it's the most terrifying feeling ever. I found a screwdriver under the sink and took the door off the hinges and managed to escape after 2 hours in bathroom. It felt like forever.

Nichole Lopez yes that’s not exactly the reason but I still take it with me most times cause you never really know this world is crazy your house might be getting robbed while your in the bathroom taking a shower or something or some crazy person might intrude into your home and try to kidnap or assault you if you don’t have a phone and your stuck in the bathroom that makes everything 10x worse.
Yes even keep a spare charger..., 😭😭 no jokez yr battery wat if its low.. right. But this tbought has always bn on my mind n was so shocked to read this n know it really happened to someone..... Yeah i hv a window luckily n d security cabin is just five meters away n i can easily scream out. I got locked in my bathroom today whilst working from home. It was only for 4 hours until my housemate came home, but I didn't know what time he'd be back and it was so horrible. Please everyone keep on touch during covid, it's so important to know what's what when were isolating.
Right!? Nightmarish my bathroom has a small window and a vent system omg did she really have no air. Probably not bc there usually lack on the coding for buildings in foreign countries. Like here if there is no large window a proper vent system has to be installed or you won't pass inspection and would not be able to rent it out to anyone! Safety first ppl! 😂
My 2 year old son locked door of bathroom...I was inside and he became afraid and start crying...within 5 min I broke the lock and came out..we both were so scared..I hug my baby and thanks Allah that nothing happen bad with us..🙂🤗
Emma same thing happened with me in the month of Ramadan I didn’t lock the door just after shower few minutes later tried to open the door, it wasn’t getting opened. I got locked for almost 3 to 4 hours I was panicked and getting negative thoughts just like happened with u. I could literally feel the pain which u have gone through. I saw in the newspaper n I shared with my family and was in shocked what you might have gone through whole night in a tiny bathroom. At last luckily my friend came and the one hour later got the carpenter and broke the lock and I was out. You are a very brave girl may Allah bless you.

Last year 2019, I trapped in a bathroom. I was getting ready to prepare to send my niece to school. I go inside then I push the door accidentally, I forgot that the door has damaged that's why it's hard to open it. the sad thing no one is in the living room that is in the morning and my younger brother are already go to school my niece a 5 yr. Old is still sleeping upstair. I'm a little panicking that time but I told to myself if will panick I'm not focus what I'm gonna do. So I sit in the toilet take a breath and focus. I wash my face in water take a deep breath again. Then I saw a small door or window at the bottom of the door then I told to myself if I gonna kick this small window/door it will destroy so I kick it and it destroy so lay down and crawl to make it in outside and finally I make it. Just we need to focus and don't forget to call god in that kind of situation. 🙏 Strong faith we need.

It happened to me too. I could not open the door after having a shower. Good thing my mother visited me on my apartment that particular day. She had to call the landlord because she can't open the door too, the doorknob has been stucked probably due to some rust of its part inside. The landlord ended up removing the doorknob and replaced it with new one. I'm so thankful it happened on the day my mother was in my apartment, if not, I don't know how long will I be locked in the bathroom. Sorry for my english though, it's not my primary language 🙂
Sister, I also faced such a great incident at my office for some time... I was in a small toilet with out any exhaust fan or even light..The moment I came to know, the door was locked, I started getting fainted slowly. Darkness started in my eyes. Immediately, I poured water to my face and with other hand I hit the door so loud. For some time I was inside and helpless. Nobody to help me at office at that time. Luckily one sales executive heard my crying voice. That executive and one security came and cut to door and taken me out soon. I get fainted. Then they gave me water.. Since that incident, am afraid of sitting at room alone, closed places and even afraid of getting in to am aeroplane. I can understand your mind.. How much u suffered for 17 hours.... My God!!! Now a days, am so keen on these things. I wish to tell a message to all who is watching this, ... Keep your children and all your near and dear safely. Have an eye and keep in mind these types of incidents and no one should not experience like this ever... Thank you sister for this message and people can get an awareness about this dangerous situation that we faced. Mine was happened when I was in Kerala. And now when am alone, keep my mobile phone with me always, even at toilet. 😀

The moment of loniless when you realise that no one from your family will know about you if it happens to you and you might have 0 text messages and calls from anyone because you have no one. No one ever notice your absence
That's me. I've gotten used to it because it's normal for me now but yeah, if I went missing the only one who would notice is my husband since we keep in constant contact when we're not near each other. I go months without talking to family. My friends would probably think I was just too busy or ignoring them.
Very claustrophobic very disturbing to me. I never close the bathroom door when I am at home. I keep it completely open. I have been doing a great work all these years.
So sorry about this incident. I was locked in a room with mobile phone. It was terrible. My family was on the other side of the door but could not break the door. Now I always carry a mobile phone fully charged.
So many people, especially seniors who live alone don't have anyone who is keeping track of them from day to day. Sometimes they are found dead after someone notices a pile of newspapers on the porch. Wouldn't you think the delivery guy would check when a paper or two hasn't been picked up? Neighbors ignore each other. We should all check on single neighbors and the elderly. And it pays to have a network of friends and relatives on a daily basis. She had a lot of co-workers, family, friends, etc. But many don't, and no one would realize they are in trouble.
I would of been soo terrified if this happened to me I just can't imagine how she felt being trapped in the bathroom for 17hrs but thank God she got out and that her cousin came to check on her. Stay safe guys 🙏

Most of the apartments in Dubai they won’t allow gas cylinders. Cooking gas is supplied in pipeline. In that case I cant even imagine what would’ve happened if she kept the stove on.. Thank god nothing bad happened.
Same thing happened to me once.... locked inside the washroom... fon outside.....hot n suffocated washroom.... Allah sent me help soon... I didn't know that these doors can be broken simply by kicking at their centre....lesson learnt

Noo your idea is bogus should have manual old system iron rods like lock only... alert is costly and system might not work properly. You are demanding alert system at every room store room. But question she was alone in flat who will open locked gate.
This was what happened to me 45 over years ago when l was a stewardess in a hotel in Kuwait . But luckily l shared my room that time with another stewardess . I would have been locked in the bathroom for 7 days .

Sue the owner of the apartment as to why the bathroom door got locked ??? Involve the police, your consulate or embassy to help you with the claim! There must be some compensation for this incident! This has been an absolute risk to your life! 😟😟😟
Another solution is that whenever you go to washroom anywhere you must have mobile. Anything can happen after closing the door thats why it is important... ALLAH helped you in the form of second lady... Best wishes for lady... May you live long...

Big questions: 1. Why didn't the door open? 2. Are all the doors in that apartment complex the same? 3. Was the stupid door put in backwards, with the lock on the outside? 4. If the doors were put in backwards, then there are probably other people stuck in their restrooms, (hopefully not dead). 5. Did they replace the door? 6. Did you move out? 7. Do you use the restroom now with the door open? This video needs a Part 2 to answer some of these questions.

I was feeling dizzy n breathless has i just took hot bath.. N was hungry too.. again I read dua n said bismillah to try again then Alhumdulilah I pushed n it got opened,, N I couldn't believe that I was alive.. But first thing I thank Allah n next I I had cotton n tape I just inserted in lock hole so that I never ever get locked again from outside.. It looks so funny a door lock with cotton inserted .. It happened 3yrs back.but still I didn't remove . N I take mobile with me if I am alone. Alhumdulilah
Also one has to avoid using any public bathroom Or Lift or elevator at the end of the day at work place especially a day before the weekend or long holidays or anytime( since you don’t know the next day could be a sudden closings like curfew cases).

There was a woman who slipped in the washroom n she was totally alone in the whole country. She died there n ppl found her after 4 days. Since the office ppl were concerned that she wasn't coming to the job. It was on a weekend when she fell. Don't live alone.
