I played 4 hours of the new psychological horror game POOLS and I'm loving it tbh. There are no jumpscares, no monsters (not in the traditional sense at least) but instead the game uses it's liminal spaces and great atmosphere to unnerve you. + If you're into Horror, Survival, Souls-Like, Indie Games or RPGs, subscribe :)
Just a suggestion, Telling everyone there is NO monster or any jump scares ruins the fear and hopelessness of the liminal space. When people do not know what lies around the corner I think it makes it a better experience.
I can see that, but its still important to know IMO. The official game description itself mentions it too actually: "No monsters chasing you or jumping towards at your screen, but the game can feel oppressive at times by invoking fears of getting lost, the dark, tight spaces and outwordly architecture. Liminal spaces, inspired by backrooms."
Wtf this is awesome haha I really like what ones mind is doing there - no enemies, no real dangers, but still i can imagine one would be on edge while playing the game Also this somehow gives me the same feeling like the canalisation of blood borne lol
