Once you start blaming yourself for your losses you'll get better. It's crazy how people have been playing for over a decade and still think everything is someone else's fault.
Yes and no. I legit had 2 weeks straight last month where at least 3/4 of my games had HARD griefers on my team or smurf on the enemy team. It was the worst experience ever, immediately after slow climbing from 2.8k to 3.5k. Every game the algorithm would agree I was the best player on the team. Heck, I lost one game and it still gave me mvp as Oracle 5. Now we’re all good. I went back up to 3.2k and am just going 50/50 now with lots of high quality back and forth close games. And honestly I would say I’m performing poorer than before. But that might just be perspective compared to my teammates.
@@bggjjhljk I went from guardian to ancient in 2024 on 5, I just finally started thinking about the losses and adjusting my gameplay. I don't win bad games always but there have been griefers and crazy comeback games that I have won because I just have a better mindset now. Currently sitting at 80% wr on treant who I've been spamming.
As someone who has followed all of your tips religiously and practiced them religiously I have went from Herald to mid-high archon in about 6-7 months. It can be done guys you're just not really trying to improve. Be humble, Realize you suck, Realize you want to be better, and then be better. Thanks Zach Ill let you know once I get to immortal Homie
This is a clear intentional misrepresentation of the facts in order to harass poor innocent people to make his viewers laugh. Zac has to be punished for this. I NEVER said I lost a single match because of my teammates. Even when they are all pure heralds, because unlike Zac, I believe heralds are humans who have a human right to play in their own rank and MMR bracket as bad as they possibly can. I have no problem with any of this. And I NEVER lost a single game versus pure True heralds either. Ever. I actually get MVP and average of 42 kills even as a hard support with lich, Lina, or crystal maiden. And they all hate me all game for being unkillable even with a squishy CM. And I am not saying that this is because heralds are bad. I do this because I simply no longer belong to this bracket. They are free to suck at the game all they want. I never complained about them or blamed them for anything. After I win 5 or so matches like the ones described above with average 42 (sometimes 61 kills) and get MVP 5 times in a row for example, I then get thrown into the smurf pool and get at least two to three high immortal smurfs on the enemy team all with a list of rampages on their profile all with VAC bans and several game bans. Every single game from that point onwards until the MMR goes back to below 200 or something and the system thinks I'm not that good to balance out those matches on my own. I clearly stated this to the high immortal genius Zac himself, but he failed to understand it with his immeasurable high IQ, and then calls the poor ogre and wind ranger smurfs for no reason whatsoever, only embarrassing himself in the process. I have reported Zac and his video and channel over this disgusting display of bullying and targeted harassment for me and other heralds and so should all of you until he gets banned for this criminal behavior. That is unacceptable and shouldn't go unpunished.
“i simply no longer belong to this bracket" You do, mate no matter how much you wanna deny it. Also you have 0 clue about the skill and mindset immortal players have.
@@zombizombiI've never been in herald in Europe but at Guardian 2 players were so shit I am tempted to not believe you. The difference of about 400 MMR between G2 and G5 is staggering skill wise.
@@HalIOfFamer I'm starting to wonder if I'm in some sort of smurf pool even though I'm not a smurf because the quality of players is much higher than what I see in these videos - even in Herald on EUW.
A friend of mine that used to be a guardian once had a massive ego in Dota. At one point he tried to climb out of his bracket, but he wasn't getting anywhere. I told him bluntly that he plays poorly, ranging from builds, mechanics, and overall awareness of his surroundings. I went over a few replays with him and told him what he needed to do to climb. He followed my instructions as closely as he could seem to manage, and he is now just shy of ancient. The instructions I gave him weren't too different from these: 1. Pick a hero that can clear waves efficiently and threaten towers. 2. Look up what the pros are building, and stop starting every game with 6 faerie fires. 3. Play on your big item/ability timings. When he was still guardian/crusader, I told him he could also play literally any hero he wanted to. He would not be punished correctly for playing a hero outside of their normal role(s). Learn to be both greedy and active.
Zac said 50 to 60 last hits are enough. I can get 80 CS easy. And then after MVP several matches in a row, I get smurfs who get 22 0 game score at 12 minutes. I explained that to Zac in the early comments but he said nothing about what to do in that situation. I never said in those games I lost despite getting the CS. I won one of them. And These games are just an example. After I win games like this for 3 to 5 times in a row and get MVP, I get stuck in the smurf pool where the enemy is good, and trying to outfarm them won't work anymore alone. I have to learn how to kill them all, and I asked Zac to tell me anything that could help with that. Help with team fights. He said nothing. He made fun of me and all the enemy heroes. I can watch a Quinn match and laugh at him too, not that hard. Where is the advice about how to win every single team fight when everybody on both teams is six slotted???
@@lukeskywalker6641 I have best advice for real, don't get tilted. Dota is a team game 5 vs 5, of course you can't 1 vs 5 players (confidering you are on the same level of skill) if you can 1 vs 5 other players it is no more team game. Let's imagine it like boat, you are with another 4 people on the same boat, of course you can't be faster than enemy's boat if they are better or your teammates worse. Maybe team games are not for you.

Zac intentionally misrepresentated what I said to make his garbage audience laugh at heralds for viewes. Absolute sociopath. Disclaimer for low IQ people like Zac: none of the people in the match above was smurfing, not from high immortal or any other bracket whatsoever. These matches aren't the problem and I can single handedly win them even with 80 CS at 22 minutes. I will feed on the enemy heroes without farming and win. The problem exists once the smurfs show up, after these kinds of matches that I have a hundred percent win rate in them. I know after all this explanation that low IQ high immortal Zac will still be braindead enough to misunderstand everything and misrepresent everything as always. @@lukeskywalker6641 What I will say might sound harsh but it's my genuine attempt to help you. You are delusional, that's your first problem you have to work on. If you can't over come that, you will never get better. Then instead of blaming others, try think about yourself as a human being with limits that has ALWAYS something to work on and get better at. I know sometimes it's the teammates but it can't be always your teamates fault. Statisticaly impossible. Remember the only constant in your games is you. And even if you don't feel like it's your fault always try to entrtain the idea what if it was you who was bad and realize your mistakes and what you could have done better. Also don't look at your teammates as burden but as other people with flaws that are trying to win the game the same as you. They primary goal isn't to ruin your games.
Everytime I come back to this video it really strikes me how little this guy wants to change anything. He's not looking to improve at the game, he's looking for players he looks up to, to tell him that it's his team's fault that he loses, or it's smurfs, or it's him being tilted. Never once does he think, "this is something I could do differently"

I really appreciate your content. I used to be a low Divine player years ago and got recalibrated in Crusader. I couldn't climb out and your content made me realize how much I relied on game knowledge instead of fundamentals. Thanks for motivating me to climb again.
@10:55 LOL I love these roast videos, so entertaining! Can we have more delusional heralds send in their profiles and challenge ZQ? I would watch every one of these roasts :)
1. Communicate with teammates in a friendly manner, MAKE CALLS!!!!! 2. Lower brackets are chaotic, therefore NEVER 'expect' anything from those players. 3. NEVER-NEVER-NEVER BLAME TEAMMATES →that's the only way you never get tilted (instead, figure out what you could've done better yourself) *Playing cores will give you more wins (it works only on lower brackets) Other: Before you learn anything, you must take notes, then plan for each game what you want to work on. Before the game: open notes, choose 1-2 things for each of the stages (early/mid/late game)
a friend of mine who is legend wonders why he's still in that bracket and i myself also wonders why he is still legend with his skill that is atleast a divine player. but then i played games with him just to know that he gets tilted and argue with his teammates until they grief lmao. so yeah if you want to climb brackets never ever argue even if your team are dumb asf
As a mediocre ancient / divine player, I've been on herald playing an account of a friend, and... oh my gosh, people there is crazy as f, but they really seems to enjoy the game and have a lot of fun...
Match making systems literally are forcing you to 50% win rate. Unless you think you’re the best player in the world there exists people playing the game at any time who are better than you. That’s literally what an elo system does. You will climb until you are at 50% win rate. Doesn’t mean it forces you 50% at herald. Over enough games you might have 70% in herald but that means you quickly won’t be in herald. Pretty simple stuff to understand in a zero sum game with matchmaking.
To see how the heralds play is so funny sometimes. They seem to play another DotA then the rest ^^ I never get 50-80 CS in every game but I can clearly see that I can never get down to herald. But 3k is not much and I know that I have to improve much. That's why I train every day in last hit trainer, play my 2-5 Games a day and watch replays from pros. I focus on my own game and give a fuck about what others do or say. I just go with the flow.
Oh my goodness please make more content like this. I love it. I have taken your advice and I have a rising mmr. It's never because of someone else. This video is so frickin funny. Keep making good cerebral content to play with and think about and I'll keep watching. GG looking forward to the next vid.
Most passive aggressive dota video I’ve ever seen 😆😆😆 this was GOLD. I love seeing heralds say they’re better than they are. They’re in herald for a very good reason
Today I got 2 MVPs out of three ranked matches that I played, but according to Zac and his minions (Who clearly never get MVP), that doesn't mean anything. Keep laughing at other people's struggles. That's so mature of you Zac. This is the 'help' you promised to provide me to get out of herald. I will not stop reporting you until you get perma banned. Let's see what would making fun of one poor person who has no platform and has low MMR can do to you.
Zac has been reported for this immoral behavior and abuse and targeted harassment. This is malicious misrepresentation of what I said to him, and he will be punished for it.
Smurfs take advantage of a lack of critical thinking in lower mmr games. They will take advantage of lack of wards, map awareness, item builds... But they are playing with a team that also have low critical thinking skills... so it isnt an automatic win.
Playing Dota and only reflecting on what your team or enemies did as opposed to self reflection holds back what feels like most of the community from grinding up
Its crazy, I use to think the same way as the individual you highlighted in the video. I play support class and still get 100+ last hits, stack camps, collect bounty ruins. Its all timing and making certain actions repetition to a point it doesn't feel like you are doing to much but doing what you are suppose to.
I get it when you are trapped in Legend, then you have to do "reverse psychology" - I will not join every single teamfight as pos 1 carry or pos 2 midlaner. Because Legend players believe teamfights win the game, they are like obnoxious children, they fight ALL THE TIME and you don't have time to farm. But dude, for Herald it is just opposite, you don't even have to farm at all, just watch the minimap and join every fn teamfight because most of the time they are not 5 players together and they dont know how to use items in teamfights. It's better to play midlane in lower ranks. Fighting one.
My very first game of dota vs human players (I practiced for a week on bots until I at least felt comfortable playing) I went 26-2-7 on spectre and lost horribly. Wondering what went wrong, I went back and watched the replay, and noticed that, while my team definitely was a bunch of complete deadweights, my map awareness was non-existent and I had a tendency to tunnel vision onto kills and ignore what was going on around me. So I put that in the back of my mind as something to improve at. I never particularly cared about my rank (this was back during closed beta before ranked existed) or even focused hard on improving, but just made little mental notes about things to do better and sometimes remembered to apply them, because getting better feels good. A year and a half later I was almost 4K mmr solely through this method, because being able to recognize your failings and putting even the smallest amount of work towards correcting them will take you a long way. That being said, the most fun I ever had in dota was in the absolute MMR trenches, so maybe it's better to just blame everything on other people and never get better, cause at least then you get to spend more time in herald.
3:00 he underperforms but also he's on the top of a list in games his allies are generally behind. the guy is ego mode core shit but still, it would be honest to engage with how imbalanced matches can be.
Won 7 in a row in the last 2 days. Climbed from guardian 2 to 5 and within 3 games I have a chance at crusader. You are the primary reason(well abusing shadow fiend in 7.36 helped) I am doing so well. My wards rarely get found, my last Hits are more consistent even in losing lanes, my priorities are clearer and I tilt way less even when games look grim. Although I am tempted to send you a replay of a tragic game from about 4 days ago. Playing PA with meepo on mid and alchemist 4. I tell meepo shadow fiend OP as hell. He procedes to do 6k dmg in a 40 minute game, and the alchemist instead of being a hero was an item farmer for us(he literally had mana boots and another minor item and bought moon shards and aghs for the rest of the team and also did like 5k DMG overall. I was tilted as hell and I played like shite but I doubt it was winnable if I was calm.
Thanks to ur videos man. Im legend 3 now from archon 2. I finally realize. That play to improve not to win thats what i learn from u i start using it every game and it feels like ok even lossing cuz i can comeback that mmr later cuz i know im in this rank 😊😊😊.
ive been flamed by guys like this too goddamn much. seeing one cry in the comments having his gameplay flamed for tens of thousands of people is so goddamn satisfying. fuck people like this. they're perfectly okay talking all the shit in the world to try and ruin your day, but cry when they get it right back from someone meaner or with more "clout" than them.
I also think there is something wrong with Valve's matchups. We once played a ranked (my team of 4) and the random was a Crystal Maiden who bought 2 boots and took all the farm but bought nothing else and was nowhere in the fights. And another time, there was a Winter Wyvern who farmed the entire game and never showed up for team fights. Then he walked into the enemy's base to get 1 death. He had 0 kills and 1 death the entire game. We won because of the heroes we picked.

I was Herald / Guardian for 2.5 years. Crusader for 6 months, Archon for 3 months, Legend for 2 months. Last week I hit Ancient. The point is, it’ll get easier to rank up the higher you go. I play support 95% of the time. My advice to Heralds and Guardians: 1. Buy wards and dusts 2. Look at what higher ranks are doing 3. Be patient and don’t play too many games every day.
nailed it bro. I myself have guardian level skills or maybe just crusader but I see all my teammates flaming eachother thinking they are actual pros. Also, how does a smurf win a game? If they were that pro just could ve solo carried xD Long story short I bet just by working on last hits people can reach archon.
I went from herald to legend and the main difference is people don’t just wait for things to happen in higher brackets. They also punish mistakes a lot harder like taking objectives after winning fights.
Hey Zquill! Finally hit 2k for the first time, I have had a steady 60% winrate for the past few months. My goal is 3.5k, loving your content, I completely agree that looking at your gameplay first is the right step in getting better at the game! See yah!
That's a genuine herald drow build. I really want to see how his skill build progresses, because experience is telling me he will go for stats instead of leveling up multi-shot. I used to play with a guy who did this skill build (except multishot didn't exist, he was skipping the aura E for stats) and he also went 5 wraith bands + phase boots.
As a low immortal, I still watch videos/content like these to improve and gain knowledge. Thank you for your insights. My goal is to hit at least 8k this year. I am currently at 6.5k. I play 4/5.
lol this video was hilarious. really enjoy this kind of content, you apply just the right amount of pressure to them without being too insulting and explain yourself well
the question is where did you come from, from guardian or from archon, because i have some archon friends that have just recently become crusader as well lol
Usually the split push situation will be split pushing when there 5 - 3 enemy missing from lane and they will be dead ganked by 3-5 missing hero or they will be split pushing when the team are trying to push high ground.

From my personal experience you can get from herald to archon/high crusader by just playing the fundamentals right. So if you are below archon you are still learning the game don't speak objectively. It is also good to not really listen to coaches, they speak from a high POV which does not always apply to lower players, You have your limits figure them out and play on your strengths. I suck at ganking and lane phase, i play heroes that farm and are not lane bullies because i cant capitalize on the lead i gain from them (i really suck at mk)
I figured out my chronic problem by looking at the wear pattern on my keyboard. Of course I'm missing the WASD, but also worn away are the letters for L-O-W-M-A-N-A. I need to buy more blue regen.

I have a few questions. Is it my fault for losing my lane as a pos 3 while my pos 4 afk'ed at the secret shop for 5 minutes? Am i at fault for my carry being weaker than the enemy carry even though i killed the enemy carry 5 times during laning phase? Am i a bad support if i went to help a losing lane and my carry tried to 2v1 and died? Should i get flamed for not having enough cast range to save a teammate in the enemy jungle? Why is the carry trying to fight instead of farming? Why are the supports farming the jungle and actively stealing creeps from cores? Why do my teammates constantly demand me to do something i'm already doing while they are ignoring their task? I couldn't answer these questions, so i took a break from the game
Had a sniper last pick mid after my friend picked it on the map. He proceeded to go 0-5, blame everyone else, and then disconnect before 15 minutes. Oh Dota.
i'm a new player, although at 77 unranked hours not sure if i'm considered new or not anymore, mostly play pos 4 or 5... i wtached a bunch of your videos and improved myself a lot during my unranked games trying to follow all the advices... i can't wait for the day i unlock ranked, i get my rank and i can finally send over a video for analysis because man, some games, i'm just stuck.. i don't know if i gave my lane partner a good lane (felt like one, didn't matter, so maybe it was not that good?), i'm not sure what i could have done different, i forget to use items that i have, at certain points... i don't know who to use the items on, my ass or my teammates ass... that's the things i just can't learn by myself and i'm excitedly waiting for the day i can send over a match id, hopefully have it seen and get constructive criticism on how i could improve and made the game better for my teammates
@@ZQuixotix haven't tuned in on a live one, but i do watch the vods here and there to learn more and more as i go, but, will try to get on one if possible thank you
I played this game for about 10 years and there really is a problem with the herald rank, its when the mid loses to the mid smurf and everyone blames the mid player for being a noob and rages them all game, its very frustrating when you play support and do everything right and still lose. A lot of players just give up and go jungle until the game is over, its very very lame. I got to crusader rank after being stuck in herald for years and and the hardest games of my life where all in herald rank. I would win 15 games in a row then I would lose 15 games in a row, I would be matched with actual drunk idiots and who would all pick 5 late game carries then fight over last hits, or I would be in a game and we would easily dominate early mid game but no one wanted to end the game and of course the enemy had a PA farming until they eventually win.
It is totally possible to gain mmr, but that doesn't mean Valve won't force you to lose some matches with allies breaking items after winning streaks. This is unpleasant and will always happen even if you reach your rank unless you only play in pt 5 player.
I started 2y ago and played more or less 1 year with friends in unranked without any idea about how dota 2 is played properly. I remember we picked drow 5 and bs 1 many times xD.. After figured out there is a ranked mode I started to play in herald and understood that i am trash and studied many many videos and watched a lot pro dota. Now a year later I am at 3k rank and tbh I see potential to reach higher rank... For all who are new.. Follow Itemization Guides for your hero and role it fits most of the time.. As supp buy glimm, staff and ghost and use items on your cores.. As Carry consider buying nullifier which wins you in lower bracket all games.. I boosted 1k with riki only cz ppl not able to buy dust and place wards..
I can't last hit. However I got to legend from herald playing support I can admit that and when I mess up, admitting you mess up is a huge step also if you want to play core instead play off or mid and just farm and take over a lobby make plays
It is about setting out to improve, and do the best for the team, it took me 2 years to go from 670mm to 4200, it is not much but it is difficult as a position 5 playing alone
Identify your team's priorities: winning lanes, pressuring towers, item timings (or lack thereof lol), etc. Each thing calls for something different for supports like stacking, pulling, trading, warding, or rotations. Good place to start is shaping up your core to be self sustainable for the 6 minute power runes, HELP YOUR MID GET THEM!
Thanks! I still think the first 10 minutes are important for Herald supports and put some details into my video on How to get out of Herald. But you can see in this video too how many kills you can get if you learn to harass decently. You can also pick up CS that cores miss. You'll end up much more farmed that a typical support would and can use that to impact the rest of the game
The problem with these people who can't self reflect. it is not only in games actually also at work. you get these people who think they are good but the absolute opposite. They have been stuck their for years and will never learn cause they cannot see the reality.
I think the frustration is somewhat the fault of DOTA educators, I quit the game out of frustration a long time ago because I would endlessly consume educational content and get absolutely nowhere. A lot of youtube educational content is simply padded and full of clickbait (speed is the worst at this), and simply bombards players with too much information that causes them to focus on irrelevant details that don't matter. Speed's series where he criticizes players is probably even worse because he roasts minor things that causes you to hyperfocus on minor mistakes. I came back to the game after a long time away, i'd been hardstuck guardian/low crusader for YEARS despite tryharding constantly and it drove me insane. Coming back fresh from other competitive games and having learnt a whole bunch of stuff about competitive mindset I basically forgot everything I learnt and just played in a way that made sense to me, as support. I'm not ranked yet but I'm almost playing against Legends in calibration already and i'm 9-2 with no effort put forward. All I did was focus on teamfighting, and using my ability correctly in fights. That's it. Even in games where we were losing by 15k at 30 minutes(which was the minority of games), just by standing on high ground and using my abilities correctly, we'd teamwipe people, even if they had aegis, turn the game, force buyback, and kill their ancient. In the first few games I didn't even know what the lotus fountain or tormenter did. I'm convinced 90% of educational content is completely bogus. While yes, you need to improve your laning, you need to have some map awareness, push lanes, networth goals, ultimately, most o the reason I was losing is because I didn't teamfight correctly. Most educators tell you objectives are more important than teamfighting. I think that's wrong. At low MMR, being good at teamfighting is almost all that matters. You can be down 20k, their carries can be ultra fed, and you'll still win if you use your abilities and items correctly.
I think this could be true if you including the addendum: knowing when NOT to teamfight is generally the most important skill in this bracket. Why risk your good start for fights when a tower is just as accessable for you to take during the fight? Why fight when your hero could take stacks or Roshan or cut waves?
@@bluejay7058 yeah I was playing support, but that would definitely apply if you were playing carry. If I tried out carry, I think I would focus more on lane matchups, and trying to survive the lane with a bad support. I'd assess whether it's worth investing into the lane or rushing a farming item, and after that not dying. I wouldn't hyper focus on CS and networth like I used to. After that I'd focus on a survival item and then a killing item, so like, BKB, basher. Then I would focus my attention on not wasting my BKB in bad positions (#1 mistake i made), and having better micro and positioning in teamfights. As carry I used to either play hyper-defensively, or extremely over-aggressively, that's because I had no decision making skills, all I did was check my CS at 10 min and networth at 30m, then i'd tilt and rage when I still lost hitting 70cs and having like 20k+ networth at 30 min. But I would tunnel vision, press BKB too early, chase a bad kill, and probably press my skills wrong. As a carry you need to know how to dance back and forth baiting situations, which is a skill you learn... by focusing on fights. I think high MMR players really just don't understand how fundamentally poor people are in teamfights at low mmr. How many times we had a great start, high networth, double, even triple roshan, but still throw and lose on highground. Teamfighting is absolutely #1, everything else is secondary.
Nah only speed makes useless content. The last time I clicked on a video of his was 2 years ago. The moment he explained that yatoro bought a satanic because he wants to be tanky to survive the fights and explained that satanic gives 200% lifesteal or some shit I was like nah I have 8k hours in this game i don't need someone to read to me what the items do. It seems to me he's more focused on grinding out content and being a youtuber and promoting gameleap rather than helping people improve. It's just that dota is a very hard complex game, and it's hard to be self aware and know exactly what it's missing in your gameplay. Mindlessly consuming educational content will only take you so far. I was hard stuck in the trench for years because of save your buddy syndrome basically. I'd see my team start a bad fight or even 1 teammate start a bad fight and everyone feels like they have to follow up because it's a team game so the whole team ends up feeding. Only when I discovered the knowledge that I don't have to follow the sheep I started applying my knowledge to the game and making decision for myself and suddenly I started climbing again and peaked at Divine IV. It makes sense when you think about it because if you only do what your teammates want you to do and play with them and follow them around everywhere you will be at their skill level and you will have 50% winrate. The crazy part was once I started playing correctly and winning and climbing I had a lot of games with toxic teammates who flame me for not playing like they wanted me to. I want you to note that I'm not griefing i'm taking the action that I think is best for winning the game and still I'm getting flamed. I even got an overwatch ban once lmao. Another stupid thing that happens in archon/legend is the constant backseating which is related to my point above again. Almost every game I had some wanna be team captain or someone telling someone else how to play their game down to the point where it's like: go here, kill this guy, farm this camp. It was straight up commands and if you didnt go with them you get flamed. It's like everyone is an expert on everything but we were still archon. 🤣 My conclusion is that the only way to climb in dota is to focus 100% on yourself and mute bad teammates if they annoy you or make you play worse. You need to have the balls to be different from everyone else in your bracket in order to be better. Also just to add more info I'm a mid player and spam pango.
@@barlike I do agree that different players will have different aspects they need to work on, and what you're saying is another truth relating to being a carry player. the thing is though the "save a friend" syndrome is just another aspect of teamfighting and teamfight awareness, knowing when a fight is bad is part of that. I think my gripe is more with the fact a lot of coaches seem to stress that as long as you focus on some *other* aspect of the game, you'll climb in MMR. Whether it's last hits, laning, objectives, pulling, item builds, skill builds, etc. In reality, I think it's possible to have mediocre last hitting, non-meta item and skill builds, chasing kills, wiping the enemy team over and over instead of taking objectives and easily be a legend/ancient player. I don't think those things are what is holding low level players back. We know this is true because AdmiralBulldog used to smurf in ancient/legend with joke builds, deliberately throwing by giving aegis to supports, purposefully not buying BKB, etc. But if he is doing wrong skillbuilds, wrong items, off meta heroes, why is he still ancient skill? It's because of his awareness. If your mechanics suck, it doesn't matter how many times you kill rosh, or how fast you take towers. I've lost so many games where we took all towers in 20 minutes, or had huge networth lead. The only part I'd agree on is after teamfighting, working on your laning phase is the next important thing. If you consistently win fights, you will generally win games, and the only way to get better at it is to keep teamfighting and learn from your mistakes. Yes, not every fight is good, but the absolute paranoia about taking fights as carry, led me to become much worse I think, because I never developed my teamfighting skills. Coaches keep roasting players, which makes them fearful of making mistakes, which I think is bad.
@@samnsamole9448 Honestly the skill difference between herald to immortal is smaller than immortal to top level immortal and ex TI winner. I consider ancient and legend as part of the low ranks too. You just need to find one game winning play late game to win the entire game and I'm sure mr bulldog can easily find that play against what are average players regardless of his items skill build etc. Game winning play means capitalizing on a huge enemy mistake like the carry farming solo and dying past 35-40 min in immortal is insta lose while in lower rank games even if it happens players wont extract 100% of the value of that mistake (if any in a place like herald-crusader). If you want to play immortal dota aka "real dota" (sorry just my opinion) you need to have all of the basics, everything the coaches are talking about perfected otherwise you will get stuck somewhere before immortal because one aspect of your game is lacking and the enemy get a free advantage. I think a lot of people lie to themselves that they have to be high rank or that they want to climb ranks while in reality that's not what they want. If you're happy with the quality of dota that you are currently playing at your rank then just enjoy the game. Personally I like pushing myself to feel constantly on edge (sometimes my hands shaker after first blood mid lol) so I want to play immortal dota not archon when i can die 5 times in a row without barely any consequence to the result of the game but that's just me thought. In ancient i saw that a lot of people were kinda ok at the game and they were basically happy with themselves and enjoyed playing ancient dota and I have massive respect for them. Also regarding the roasting please don't take it too seriously bro. These videos need to be entertaining as well as educational. Like why would I click on a video about heralds when I'm already good enough to play in divine. There is literally close to 0 useful information for me in this video so why would people who are way past herald click it? It's about entertainment. I personally grew up with dota and have developed thick skin. In fact I would say I enjoy toxicity to a certain extent. I remember quite a few times I had shouting matches with russians but when the game was ending we were all laughing how stupid it was. Your value as a person is a lot more complicated than what people on the internet say about you or even your dota skill level. Just make sure to have fun whatever that means to you.
Haha, great video but isn't your benchmark of 50cs/15denies crazy high for someone in Herald to aim for? I watch a lot of pro replays and let's take the three latest replays with ATF, one of the best laners in the world. In those at exactly 10:00 he had Razor 50/23, Huskar 72/15, Mars 67/22. He hits your benchmark for sure but not with a huge margin, especially not every time. I mean, it just seems a bit unrealistic for a Herald to aim for. Anyways, great video and your tips have helped me a lot.
That's fair and something people have brought up. My argument for 50/15 is that when we think about higher brackets, the players are more competitive with each other. More people are constantly last hitting, denying, pulls, and harassing, so it's a lot harder to actually get CS. Kills and rotations are a bit more consistent as well as players know how to utilize their heroes. For those reasons, I think it's much more understandable when higher brackets don't hit the benchmark (which is meant to be a rough guideline anyways). In Herald, a lot of that tends to be missing and many players end up just staying in their lanes for the first 15 minutes. Some games there's tons of kills back and forth (often due to mistakes) but sometimes it's super passive. This is why I think a Herald player who puts in some work to practice last hitting and maybe does a few of their own pulls or jungling could learn to hit 50+ CS most games. Alternatively, hitting less than 50 but working on other elements of your game would be totally fine. If you consistently hit 50/15 and the other things I talked about though, I think literally just those is enough to get out of Herald which is why the benchmark is a bit higher than it might otherwise be
@@ZQuixotix That's some good points. I didn't really think of Herald being more like laning against easy bots so it's easier to hit the benchmark lol. I just compared to my own games in Legend/Ancient and pro games and it seemed like a really high benchmark to hit for a Herald.
i did play good sometimes and dominate the enemy before hitting 10minutes, but the only problem is when my teammates all of sudden feeding and blaming others, also i have a hard time to understand what item needed to be buy to counter some heroes
I think the whole thing about immortal smurfs is him yet again overestimating his abilities, thinking he's just slightly below high immortal and if not for brown boots clarity necro he would climb easily. Provided he is actually serious which i doubt actually Anyway great video, love these roasts.
Are you sure these games are herald? my herald game were nowhere near this chaotic lmao Was rough getting out of herald took hundreds of games but as soon as you accept some amount of accountability you will improve and win more than you lose because of it. My first 400 games felt hopeless because my cores had flawed understandings of the game, no matter how many times I pulled the lane back they would just push it back out or even entirely ignore creeps because they wanted to man fight the other core to the death and oh boy if I wasn't around to help them in their feeding they would blame me and flame me instead of learning from their mistake and trying to recover. In these situations I found it best not to engage with them as no matter what you say they will just get more upset. After around 400 games I started paying attention to the map and everyone else's builds and started planning ahead with who I should play around based on what I seen, I also started rotating a lot more naturally because I was paying more attention instead of forcing it without any real understanding as to why I would want to rotate. Overall it took 800 games for me to get out for good and with the new "pay to win" requeue system for Dota+ users my games are better than ever, rarely losing to people having a meltdown and going afk or feeding :D
Ogre Magi running under the enemy tower for safety absolutely killed me. No matter how bad I get at the game, I can know that I won't be as bad as this Ogre.
I appreciate this type of content. This happens literally at every bracket. But, people in this game are now already too toxic, emotional and delusional that I'm not even sure what could be the amount of content like this that's enough to open their eyes anymore. what a sad reality because this game is the best video game ever created, but it's the community itself that's driving players away, especially new players
I win almost every 1k mmr game when I play 1-2-3, I win early game every time I play 4-5, but lose the game. I like to play 4-5, but I'm not able to win the games. Very frustrating.
I was watching your vids and guids and i adapt it little by little im personally come from herald 3 for years since 2018 then im on archon 1 now still learning and looking for mistakes to be correct, i love your guides by the way.
Haha these crack me up. Im a Troll spammer n im currently on a 10 win streak as troll n I've been called a surf multiple times while playing troll. With troll I'm not a herald player but the other heros I play.. I'm still a herald player 😆 I'm one win away from getting out of herald but what good is it gonna do when troll gets banned? Which is forcing me to play other heros and get better.
