Farmer called with wild feral pig problem destroying the farm fields. Deer season is just around the corner and the wild hogs are eating all the corn at the deer feeder. We used the Game Changer Jr pig trap made by Bull Creek Outdoors to catch the whole sounder.

I do not understand why some people don't understand what you doing is helping a lot of farmers and land owners if you guys can show the damage. What those pigs do to people's property and hurting their livelihood. I think they will understand that you are God sent. Keep up the good work. I love you guys videos.

Problem is each sow can give birth three times a year with up to 15 piglets with each birth - so you cannot really slow down the wild hog population based on the current methods of trapping -- someone will have to come up with a far effective way in order to truly eradicate this problem which is getting far worse then better even though you have more and more wild hog trappers then ever before

You are right. We can only manage our own properties to minimize the damages. It will be a problem until the lord brings me home. But we will keep at it until then.

Iv seen a video on here while scrolling (same reason I'm here) of a guy training heard guarding dogs to take out boar, is that a valid option? From a native Englishman its mental seeing how bad the problem is, that and the fact they're pests to you all yet an hour from me we have a "wild boar park" attraction in the forest of bowland where you can feed and pet them

Had the get out of 9ft high silo mesh traps One jumps on top of a sleeping one. It startled it and was like trampoline just extra assistance for it to get the height. Then climbed last foot to get over

@@hollyridgehomestead to stop them getting over we used long sticks pushed thru mesh as a deterrent basically weave them so there inside the trap when they tried to jump it’s over hanging their heads on inside of the traps only need to come in about 2 foot from side of the trap and have a shade spot for them to as all mine were export meat

Good job! The best part was watching the peanut gallery laugh at you, as you slid down that ramp 10 times! That’s some cheap entertainment for them. Maybe you should charge admission! 😂🤣😉 For these kinds of jobs, I would definitely invest in an electric winch that you would run off of your idling truck engine. 👍👍

Yeah, they were waiting for me to busted it in the mud. Then you would have seen them crying from laughing so hard. I’m going to have to do something for these bigger hogs. Trapping in and close to the river bottoms, I catch some monsters.

@@hollyridgehomestead Block & tackle forward mounted helps. & Rollers. And for the towing arrangement 2 lengths so can stand on top of the ramp where necessary where there is a sound footing. POcket full of rocks for the audience. It's only the big ones that need manoeuvring but they're a mission at times without the gear. Slipping the loop around the snout behind the tusks is good Or a slit either side of the inside lips & thread the rope eye through. More streamlined for difficult towing.

Your lucky I that all your pigs are confined in a cage! Here in my country we have to go out& search for them! Through dense Bush etc! Often using trained pig hunting dogs!

Isn't there a better way of loading them onto the trailer ? It looks as if one day somebody's going to slip and fall over and get hurt. Those carcases look pretty heavy and difficult to lift up as well.

Yes they can climb out if they are strong enough. This trap is designed a lot better than most. I’ve seen other types of traps that are easier for them to climb out. Just have to get to them ASAP!!!

You are correct. We didn’t check that morning because we had just used it. But we carry a spare battery and a Henry 22 lever action with iron sights since that time.

Just watched hot pepper challange. Thought maybe people could mainly farmers plant those extreme hot peppers around their crops and watch and see what happens. It could be a temporary defense until they fiqure it out or get use to eating it.

Actually if you watch the wild pig butcher's videos they'll tell you wild pig bacon isn't a good as domestic pig. They'll leave it attached to cook with a larger piece of meat.

Watching other trappers. The pigs don’t just stand in one spot for long. They run around. So it does take time sometimes. Not wise to just blast away until they stop.

Lol. Battery died on the red dot and was having to use front sight only. We still use this rifle but I also bring one with iron sights.

A boar will start breeding a 6 to 8 months but isn’t able to produce young until 12 to 18 months.

Interesting. I know they create problems when catching the whole sounder and that many bigger boars at the same time in my trap. Always fighting and pushing others out. We practice whole sounder catch and not catch what you can. But I was glad to catch them in there and the landowner was very happy to get rid of them.

@@hollyridgehomestead we dropped on 7 last week all mature boars except for 3. We had never catch that many mature boars. The smallest pig was 83lbs it was a sow. That video will post next week.

@@fountainfarms that’s been my experience when catching big boars is only 2-3 max with a sounder. Now I will have big boars show up at night 90% of the time. Depending on the situation, I will take him with a thermal.

How long does it generally take you to assemble the trap and take it down? Is it a one-man job or does it take a couple of people?

The key is level ground when it comes to putting it together. I don’t mean perfect level, but just in general. I take it down and put it up by myself a lot. It is nice to have help, but not necessary. I would say 20-30 minutes to put up and take down. I’m usually around 20 minutes for myself.

They were missed shots. The battery on scope had died. We had to use the front sight only. It took me a couple of shots to figure out point of impact. Got a backup rifle with jet iron sights now just in case that happens again.
