@@myservicearea people do it all the time on tiktok, you have to start somewhere not everyone started with 40k but they did eventually make that much when it was all said and done
I’ve got a about $200 worth of equipment in the back of my pickup and can do about 50 cans a day. I collect all of the water I use similar to a big truck. Do I get trash blown in my face? Yes. Is my system as effective as a $200,000 Wash bind truck? No. Do I want one? Hell yeah. But saying that you need a 200 to 400k investment is talking countless amounts of people to get out of this business. Seems a little counter intuitive, since MSA would be quite beneficial to guys like me.
Gotta say that it’s pretty damn impressive you have only $200 bucks in a pressure washer, catch tank, water tank and heater to clean cans. Job well done. When I say you need that type of money, I am talking about running a business where you are not paying yourself until the business can afford too. In this business, it takes TIME before you are truly making money. There is nothing counter intuitive about MSA and my statement. There are people selling units left and right because they were under capitalized (not enough money in the bank) to stay in business over a year. I never want to discourage someone from getting into this business. However, you need to plan ahead and KNOW your NUMBERS. If you’re cleaning 50 cans a day, you should be well on your way to saving for a trailer or truck then. Or you’re not charging enough.
Hi I'm looking to start my own bin cleaning company in my area. I would like to know more about your truck system as I don't have a lot of capital for initial startup. Any help.would be greatly appreciated. Tyia
If you're reference the comment about 100/200/300k...I stated that because of the cost of the trucks designed for cleaning cans and working capital to pay your bills. Why do you think there are so many used trailers and trucks for sale? Because they were under capitalized. It could take you eight months or longer before you pay yourself a dollar. Can cleaning is long game business.
Hi there, from your experience in operating a can cleaning business and having to acquire customers. I am curious what you would think the smallest community size is that you would start a trash cleaning business in?
Hi Dylan! Great question. There have been companies that have built a business with 50k in population. So I would use that number as a baseline. With that being, I would also focus on pre-selling the service to test the demand. Hope this helps!
