I stayed in Berlin for 9 weeks, amazing city but as a road cyclist it's pretty hectic I guess, It's almost the same as eastern Europe where I am from and here it's really bad. As for the Sea Sucker, the concept is pretty great but from my pov but I have more confidence with the rack system from any other company that is stuck onto the roof rails of the car. I use the Thule system. Nice video, thanks to RU-vid algorithm I got to know this awesome channel!
Thanks a lot. Yes Berlin in itself is not great for the road bike but if you take some time you can ride out to Potsdam within 30 min from the city. There its lots of good fun with nature and smooth roads.
I love my seasucker rack. I have a hatchback and I actually mount mine on the rear of my car with the tire mount on the back. I do the same thing on our mini-van. It has served me well and I have driven cross country (24+ hours) with it on the back.
@@michaelarnold1150 i should have thought about that with the Smart car. Would have still been shorter than a regular car and more aerodynamic than having it on the top.
Hey man. Viewer from the Philippines here! Great review. I ordered a mini bomber to be shipped here. Excited! Just a question: is the velcro holding the rear wheel stable and strong enough? I trust the suction cups, but not really sure about the strength of those velcros. Cheers
Hey Carlo, the velcro s are really strong. Never had any issues with them getting loose. I think once you set it up yourself you will feel pretty confident about them as well.
I just got this rack and as I was putting it together, I noticed one of my bolts are slightly shorter than the other 3. Did you have the same issue? I’m kind of skeptical to use it with one bolt shorter so I plan on going to a hardware store to find a similar bolt but just curious if anyone else has the same issue
@@klein-concept I have reached out to them and they said that during manufacturing that something like that may happen, but should still be safe to use…. I might just hit up a hardware store and find the exact bolt and replace it. Don’t really want to risk it with a $3500 bike on it😅. Thanks for the reply!
Haha interesting reply from them. I guess it should still be safe but i would agree with you to go for the solution which gives you most peace of mind.
hi, I'm from Malaysia. what if the car roof paint is not in a good condition like rough or scratch surface would the cup still able to do they job well?
I have seen theirs but to be honest didnt know how it performs and did not want to take any risk of this thing detatching on the Autobahn 🫣 Are you using the Rockbros one?
Thats what i keep thinking as well but i have been using it for over a year. Even with two bikes attached at once most of the time, highway 500km trips and no issues at all. But still feels weird every time i use it 🫣
4 years and counting for us. 2 expensive mtbs... use it every weekend. Rock solid. On the other hand my old Yakima racks had metal fatigue. A hole thru the tray. 😮 They're awesome.
It works as advertised, PERIOD! Been to Florida and back from Kentucky with two expensive bikes on top. I forgot to wipe the pollen that coated the roof in my haste getting home. All suction was perfect the whole way back to Louisville because, well, yes I checked each time I stopped to take a break. So yeah, you can trust $12,000 worth of bikes to a SeaSucker Mini Bomber at highway speeds for over 600 miles. Oh, and the UCI has given then a huge thumbs up!
