@@sgt.autisticsoap7766 he has his preferences like anyone else. He understands Em has reinvented himself so many times over and respects that. He just doesn’t vibe with the beat, he likes the lyrics all the same.
@@mateonelson3862 Alfred's theme is definitely more about the lyrics and that's why there is no chorus and just 5 minutes of bars. Discombobulated is definitely my favourite because of the old em vibes and tone deaf because he sounds like he had the most fun on them two
It's litterly why the song is called Alfred's Theme. People who think it's a trash beat pull up Alfred Hitchcock's theme song by itself and listen to it then re-listen to this song and see how much talent it takes to make that music the prominent part of a hip-hop beat. This one is the beat equivalent to people saying Em is trash because they aren't knowledgeable enough to understand the references he is making to flip the bar into 2, 3, 5 different meanings all at once. Then anyone who fully understands it and still doesn't care for it, fine, but at least comprehend what you're listening to before trashing it.
Proof that people weigh production over everything else... The fact that that’s the actual theme music to Alfreds Theme and that Em could rap on it, makes it dope to me... 99.999% of all the rappers would have no clue how to rap on that beat ...
Its because eminem doesnt have a set flow, he changes it and does so many unorthodox flows so he can adapt to these type of beats and most rappers cant do that
It's plenty of rappers that can rap on this beat lol 😆just not like em does it em study alot of different old-school artists like u suppose to do and raise his game.
"I'm giving nightmares to Billie Ellish" 2019 she said Eminem scared her as a kid so she put childish gambino over Em that's why he said childish in that line lol
She's still a kid, though, if you think about it, an adolescent teenager still, but, yeah, I get where she's coming from though, Em has made some scary ass music, especially back in the days, the pre-Recovery days. That Billie Eilish bar is pretty wholesome to me though, because, honestly, I find Billie's music to be kinda scary, but being a huge fan of Eminem, it made a giddy a little bit that she feels that way, haha!
@@sashasitsker3960 A lot of people interpret that happy birthday part as connected to the thing he said about Billie, but, then again, a lot of people said that he's singing it to count how long he washes his hands, I'm gonna go with both, you wouldn't put it past Em for a double entendre
I'm disappointed in this one. He got stuck on the instrumental which was eminem paying homage to alfred Hitchcock, and he paid no respect to the lyrics. He actually said what is eminem really saying. Wow. You wasnt paying attention. This is actually one of the best tracks on ems new album. And you let the beat that was homage get passed you. Seriously, people need to know more information before they are allowed to critique anything. You didnt even know that this beat is actually a classic and epic beat for it's time. As a kid when I heard this theme on the TV i knew my favorite shit was on. And then Alfred would walk onto his shadow silhouette. Bro. You have no idea what you just trashed. Smh. Means you have no prior knowledge to the content you were listening to. Still love the channel, but damn son the way you reacted here was disappointing, only because I thought you were a knowledgeable person. Guess not. Shit went over your head this time.
Yea this one wasnt good. There is so much in this track not even mention the whole slim shady vibe matches like "My Name Is". Or that the whole second half he clapin back at "Bully Irish". The worst part is he sad he wouldn't listen again. And that is what MUST be done on a Em track bc you not gonna catch the plan of the track they lyrics of the tack or the intent until listen 3.
I agree. Especially for him saying he wont listen again. That made me unsubscribing from his channel. The point is to catch the bars. This dude said hes not really saying anything. Like really bro. Stuck on the beat cause he feels it sucks but wont give another listen. Lost respect for this channel. Not because he trashed it but because he really didnt give it a chance. No life shaq annoys me with his laughs and constantly stopping and just saying dumb shit. But atleast he respects the bars and doesnt say this beat sucks so I'm done with this. Crazy. Layed played himself
This guy is a terrible reactor. How he has more subs than the likes of Scriptwork, third earnest, doc rich and Stevie knight I’ll never know. I’ve never seen him break an Em song down.
@@fl1y668 yes I’m fine. No one said he couldn’t appreciate that. But he kept saying that he doesn’t like the beat at all but keeps nodding his head like the song is fire (which it is)
@Fals3 The0ry someone can not be a fan of the beat, and still nod their head. You do realize people don’t just nod their heads for beats right? If you think that, I wonder what you think of people nodding their heads to acapella battle rap 🧐
Because at the end of the day it’s MUSIC, i.e., something that is supposed to be pleasing to the ears. One can recognize Em’s lyrical ability (like Layedback did) and still not like how it sounds. Y’all must have not watched the video, because he explained this several times... lmao.
@@loumarks2751 I’m not saying it’s special, but it’s better than other songs he’s “passed”. He’s grading it on a curve- specifically comparing it to other Eminem songs instead of comparing it to overall quality compared to other hip hop.
The thing is, the beat is actually crucial to the song. The music is from alfred hitchcocks show. an old show mostly bout psychos and murderers. Thus the title of the song
"This whole song is just rapping" "Eminem brought bars" Errrm what?.... "Beats whack" Breaks neck throughout track. Verdict trash, because I couldnt understand it in a first listen "Didnt actually take the time to listen?" Totally lost me on this one, seemed really sloppy reaction. Anyone fucking with Stevie Knight reactions recently, that man takes time to disect and actually understand this Shady transition.
@@MC-ql6bz 100% and actually rewinds back and checks again and again. Think even in his last one, he picked up a few things whilst editing and added comments. Thats commitment. This one here....lazy. Even started by justifying his laziness lol Then ended it with an opinion of trash when he literally just said he doesnt break down bars. 🤣🤣🤣
the beat is called "gounod - funeral march of the marionette" Funeral March of a Marionette is a short piece by Charles Gounod. It was originally written for solo piano in 1872 and orchestrated in 1879. It is perhaps best known as the theme music for the television program Alfred Hitchcock Presents
This whole song is in a sense a reflection of the beat. "All over the place yet connected." Em just wanted to hit us with a quick barmageddon typa song. You don't gotta be ultra deep or gangsta all the time, sometimes you just wanna laugh and play. Em showed us that he's got that side of him too.
Perfectly said, I don't get why more ppl don't get this, no wonder so many stressed out and always on edge.. not everything gotta be so serious just enjoy
Wsg yall, I'm an 13 year old artist who's trying to get a fanbase going on, I just drop a track recently. It would make my day if you could check it out and give me your opinions on it. You don't got to, have a good day 🙏.
Appears everyone else is just as mindblown as me.. trash? Some of the most wild word play and lyrics Eminem has put together. The beat is a take on the Hitchcock theme with a Dre touch. Dope. Thought you was an Eminem fan dog C'mon!
This is literally the first ever trash I’ve ever seen Layed Back give and I’ve been on his channel for a hot minute. Doesn’t like the beat and “wasn’t feeling it” but is bobbin’ his head all video long and looking amazed at every word he says. Ummmmm what?
@@lastquit3184 Eminem isnt perfect, and I'm a fan. You need to view things objectively. Just because you're a fan doesn't mean every single song is perfect. People has their own opinions
“Grading it on Eminem level” trashes it because he doesn’t feel the beat then proceeds to compliment his complex and creative rhyming because “thats what Eminem do” Aight so what is Eminem level then? 😐
Eminem level: Godzilla Rap God I'm not afraid Till I collapse "My Name Is" Lucky You Kamikaze and "Lose yourself" there are more but I won't say all of them
@@supernoob1894 lucky you and godzilla are below this level of eminem. i think godzilla is a better song (especially since alfred's theme doesn't have a chorus) but the technical ability here is close but above godzilla for me
He never catches bars. He just gives the stink face and convulsions, when he thinks he hears a bar. But then when he tries to interpret it, it’s way off.
Ashamed to say it took me 11 months to appreciate this song. But no doubt he had fun making this and just showed off purely how good his word play truly is. Em= GOAT
Maybe if you listen to the lyrics of the song instead of just nodding your head, he made it very clear in that song he even said that he’s fulfilling his wish in killing rhymes, and even acknowledge that it was childish and silly
Am I the only one that feels like the bars went over his head? There's so many double entendres in this song. Thrashing this is gonna have'Em Bar-King. **arf*arf**
He likes Eminem have you seen any of his videos? He's just keeping it real the beat is pretty mid compared to the rest of the album. The lyrics though are better than most rappers out pretty bar heavy imo
@@supernoob1894 that isn't what I'm saying. On a pure skill level this song is a hard pass. Also the beat isn't necessarily weak. I mean it isn't a club banger I give you that. But overall this song is definitely a pass. beat is like a 6/10 and lyrics 8/10. even when you give this beat a 5/10 the 2 factors combined would still be enough to say this song would pass
He's trying to turn hip hop into art showing that if you can rap, you can rap to anything so he sampled the them of his album to show he's an artist and then slayed a wack ass beat to show he's a rapper. Not to mention there's at least 3 different beats that switched with his flow. Showing flexibility on a wack ass beat. He's rich he's just playing around at this point
I know its 3 years ago but here some context about the song, "It pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock films including Vertigo and Psycho. On the same day, an illustrated lyric book based on the music video."
The beat is sampled from the theme music of the TV show “Alfred Hitchcock presents”, originating from Gounod - Funeral March of a Marionette. So it’s literally Alfreds Theme.
@LayedBakDFR. Music to Be Murdered by was originally an album composed by horror icon Alfred Hitchcock and Jeff Alexander. Hence the Alfred Hitchcock references and samples in Eminem's album. In Hitchcock's album, there is a song called, 'Alfred Hitchcock Theme' and if you listen to it, you will see that the tune that runs throughout Eminem's version 'Alfred's Theme' is a sample of and throwback to the original. It's not just some silly beat the producer has rushed out.
The Beat is Funeral March of a Marionette - Charles Gonoud, it was written in 1872... It was Used BY ALFRED HITCHCOCK, the basis for the entire 2 albums... It's supposed to sound old.
the beat may be quirky. But thats what makes it nasty (also, Em is the one who produced it. this is the theme to Alfred Hitchcocks original music to be murdered by)
Afred's Theme is written by Charles Gounod, Luis Resto, and Eminem... The important thing to note is that the "carnival beat" is actually a sample from Charles Gounod - "Funeral March of a Marionette" (Theme from Alfred Hitchcock Presents)...Em is literally using Alfred's Theme... thats why it seems so clunky and old.
The fact that @layedBakDFR didn’t get the Hitchcock vibes is exactly why I like Eminem’s music. It’s so diverse, there’s so much that everyone from whatever background can relate to and take from it. I wasn’t keen on the Hitchcock beat at first but it’s really grown on me
The beat is a remix of the original Alfred Hitchcock Television Theme from the original 1957 Music to be Murdered By. I think it's a really cool way to bring in the inspiration for the album in an interesting way.
He picked this beat because it’s a sample of the Alfred Hitchcock show. The album is named after a Hitchcock album. The theme of the song is that he’s a crazy killer in the rap game. Hence Music to be Murdered By.
This has got to be the most "trash" review I have ever come across on your channel. In a stay subbed or not to stay subbed scenario...I'm going to choose to unsub. Thanks for one less channel to worry about!
I can respect this rating, I liked it because when I was growing up I remember watching Alfred Hitchcock come on, on nick at night and seeing his silhouette and that theme song playing.
I think eminem reached a point were he's just joking and having fun with the lyrics, he does not even care anymore and that what make everybody crazy, cus he does it effortlessly and still sounds amazing
It's the Alfred Hitchcock presents theme song from the 50's Hence the title. It was a murder mystery series. That's why he used that music. The bars make more sense also if you know what he's referencing.
