There’s no beef! I just read a whole article with yela discussing him leaving, trying to build his brand. Slumerican isn’t a label it’s a brand. He also discussed what he learned from being sign under shady. He wants to bri g in artist of his own to his circle and build his brand like shady, or aftermath or whatever big time label. This song is fire, I love all his projects. Listen to row your boat.
Thought Yelawolfs contract with Shady was up so he went his own way. Respect because i thought hed fade away but came straight back with his own album! 🤘
Thanks for the video man, I was watching on my xbox but pulled it up on my phone to comment. I personally think Yelawolf doesn't want to be restricted in any way and wants to continue evolving as an artist in whatever way he sees fit.
Em signed yelawolf not only because he believed in him a musical talent. But also to shine some light on him so he could get some recognition. He was signed after he created a song called Daddy's Lambo. And then made 2 or 3 albums and gained a huge following. He left because he doesn't need some one to tell him how to do shit he as deffenently learned alot from em and wouldn't take anything for granted, he just knows he can make it on his own and that's what he's showing in this project. And it's phenomenal
The actual deal that he signed with Interscope was a 5 album contract, 1 of those albums was Trunk Muzik 0-60, then he released Radio Active, Love Story, Trial by Fire and TM3 and the contract was over; the important part is that Yelawolf's contract was signed BEFORE he joined Shady Rec. so he didn't leave the Shady Recs. His Interscope deal was over, and he already had started Slumerican Recs and had stated that after TM3 he'll go indie, after Interscope deal was over, Eminem could have signed him under Shady Recs, which is under Interscope but IN THAT scenario Shady Recs would have full control over the extent of the deal. But as I said he had already decided to go indie so Shady didn't offer a deal. after that Yela has done multiple interviews and has praised Eminem over and over and how grateful he is that Em gave him full artistic freedom to do his own thing while still having Interscope paying for his expenses. He had the Rowdy track since 2014 and even sent it to Em to get on the track, AS HE SAID IT HIMSELF that Em didn't send it back but DID NOT tell Yela to not release it, Yela didn't release it cause he thought Em didn't like it and ONLY AFTER he asked for Em's approval he put it on TM3 There was not a single drop of bad blood between him and Em when he departed Shady
Not many people actually dislike Em they dislike the em fans, but yela already had Slumerican Records so it made sense to just be under slumerican rather then to resign with Shady, they still cool as far as I know

Wolf was Independent from 2005 til 2011, then joined Shady in 2011 along side Slaughterhouse. He even said he done all he felt he could through Shady Records and starting his own Label Slumerican and venturing off on his own and taking what he learned as a business man & as a artist bringing up those who he believes embodies Slumerica

He said in interviews that he already had ghetto cowboy done and he turned it in and his team said it wasn't tm3 so he went back in the studio and made tm3, that's why we got ghetto cowboy so quick because it was already done! And he left shady because he didn't wanna answer to nobody!

This would probably surprise people (heh) but I'm not the most well-versed in rap music. I still respect the talent it takes, and when a specific sound clicks for me, it just clicks. This is the case when rap is mixed with a flavor of deep southern country, and by "country" I don't mean most of the stuff on modern Top 40 stations. Love Story was the first Yelawolf album I ever heard, and I'm very impressed with Ghetto Cowboy. I love the title track, Lightning in a Bottle, Here I Am, You and Me, Country Rich, Renegades........ wow, honestly, going through all the songs, I loved all of them for the most part. My least fave was Unnatural Born Killer, and it was still pretty good. It's not often that I listen to an album from any artist of any genre and don't skip a track or two. So, I guess that means........ REACT TO ALL OF THEM!!!! LOL jk

Yeah it seems like it's an Interscope thing, many artists have spoken about how Interscope want to have specific release windows. Paul Rosenberg once spoke about that.
he had ghetto cowboy already in his pocket before he even made TM3. That’s why it was a quick turnaround. His manager told him he needed to get back to the 808s n go hard. He got signed to shady on trunk muzik so yw thought it was fitting to leave with Trunk Muzik

I feel most rappers don’t like being on labels cuz the fact is that the labels are ran by other people who think what’s best for you only for money and sales but when you run the show you drop what ever you want and also the fact you are yourself and you can do what ever you want with your music
Ghetto Cowboy was recorded before he was off Shady, but it wasn’t like his ‘Trunk Muzik’ style. He met his album requirement on his contract and was ready to branch out and have his own label and make his southern style the go to
