I don't know why, but when you said you'd add the cat to the "misfit toys" , I became so inspired for a new Christmas display! I have a plastic deer with a leg missing (it's one I've kept since childhood) and other little broken ornaments , figures and things in my christmas collection... I think I will make an island of misfit toys on my shelf this Christmas! Like spread out the cotton and decorate their little area. Maybe more people would like to try it out as well, I'd love to see the other misfit toys out there.
Renee, you are an archeologist! Combing through the bits and pieces of a life gone by, slowly putting together a snapshot of this family. When you found the Pennsylvania Ballet Co. program in the purse, I pictured the mother and little daughter going to see the performance together. Such a sweet bag. Thanks for sharing.
OH MY GOSH! The cat thing is a spinner. When you push the lever in it should spin around and show little sparks through the blue and red. I played with these as a kid. So fun to see!
Renee! I’m screaming at my phone: “Always take the box an item comes in!”. Those stadium purchase balls in boxes could be original signatures. The box adds to the value tremendously. Love the vids!!

It looks like the contents of that trash bag came from an old toy box that sat in the basement for quite some time. I recognized a lot of those toys from my childhood especially all the little babies 👶 So happy you got the bags!
Agreed. It reminds me of a small toy chest that was at this house before they started putting out bags - same kind of scenario with the condition of items.
I noticed some original 1960s Barbie doll hangers, I saw a small yellow hanger, think there was another one, save those hangers! Barbie collectors would definitely want the original hangers. Hangers and a small booklet always came with the individual outfits.
Love your trash picking absolutely the best! I'd be tempted to put the odd toy pieces cleaned up as best you can in a clear jar for display and conversation! Reminds me of the I Spy books!

TacoStacks need to give all of his to Renee who appreciates them. He keeps scrapping them. And they are so light in weight.. can't have much scrap value. You can buy replacement webbing and some would be great to resell

I recently found a few old bedraggled stuffed cat in a dumpster at an estate sale. I cleaned him up and sewed his head back on and he looks like brand new!
Renee the first pink plastic doll was sold at Woolworths dime store for 10 cents if wrapped in pink blanket 👧 girl blue boy 👦 I am 76 born in 1944 so I would say. Late 40s . I have no idea 💡 why because usually cowboy and Indians were more my thing I was very much a Tom boy. I was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Don’t throw anything away that has mold on it that you want. You can wipe it all down with water, dish liquid and bleach. Also the dollar store has a spray that is just like Lysol. It even smells better than Lysol. It kills the mold and mildew great!😊🤷🏻♀️

That little metal toy you picked up that is round with cats on it makes noise and sparks. You push the handle in as fast as you can,, over and over and Sparks. It's better in the dark because you can see the sparks better
This bag contains the dregs from the bottom of someones home but i love it. It's got so many amazing little rare finds glad you saved it. Hello from the UK
When you changed camera angle and tore the bag open it reminded me of our toy boxes when we were small, except things weren't broken. Brought back a few nice memories. Ty for sharing. Loved this one

I just got through viewing the latest Taco Stacks storage locker adventure, with you as the partner in quest of "goodies"...I was wishing I bought that unit...all the neat frogs and that great toy wringer washing machine. That one was from my toy era...could have been made by the Ideal Toy Co, or Marx Toys...cute piece...I really like toy mini appliances from that era of the 30's-50's. That washer was from the late 1940's I have a small collection of mini Sad Irons...some with advertising cast into them...salesmen's pieces. I have a couple of frog squeak toys! A Native American Tom-Tom. Nice haul!

What? No toilet seat? LOL. The little wind up cat....awwwww. Maybe she could fit into your crib of misfit toys? I would put all the little plastic broken dolls and limbs into a bundle and put it on Etsy. They would make for great art or crafts or just stuff. Infact any little tidbits of broken toys into a bundle with the dolls would make it almost irresistible to lots of artistic folks.

It’s like they never threw anything away, just bagged it up and stuck it in a corner somewhere. I’d almost bet they lived through the depression during childhood. Knew a woman in my hometown, when they went through the home after she passed away found dozens and dozens of eggs completely dried up in their shells and flour, rice and dried beans that were ten, to twenty years old.
7:45. I have that black cat! His ears are made of oil cloth or vinyl and are black and flimsy. So you could make your own ears for it, even out of black card stock.

Some of those small dolls with the feather looking hair, look like the dolls that came on Valentine chocolate boxes circa 1930’s - 1960’s. They were cherubs and often the clothing and wings were part of the box. I remember some of my Grandmother’s had dresses made out of a foam material and they disintegrated over the years. They had flapper style headbands with those feathers under the band. Loved the littles bag !!
