When my husband was alive, we couldn't have open fires because he was on oxygen. I have a fireplace in my apartment. We purchased a fake iron stove heater (electric) and placed it in front of the fireplace for when he got terribly cold. It looks awesome and this mantel would be perfect for something like that. My heater even has a fake fire so it is so cozy! I love watching you make things like this
It turned out wonderful. I love the full chunky spindles on each side. BTW I love the bits from the WNW in this edited video. Hopefully it will drive more people to watch your lives and have more people watch edited videos to see the project get finished ❤️
Oh! Thank you! I’ve been looking for mantles for my bedroom and living room and I can’t find ones I like ever! Now I know why I just need to make them!!! I have everything but spindles! Now the quest for spindles!
nice job James and Zeb! feel better, at least you all are cozy in the house doing what you love ( thats my favorite time to be creative, we have pretty mild weather here in Michigan TODAY.
In my house (1910) it will continue to chip in cold months out of the blue, lol. Only cuz it can get colder in my home and it’s Ohio but like you said, it’s no risk no reward
The 'mantle' turned out amazing. I'm definitely going to make a similar piece for myself, without the long side pieces though. I thought it would have looked nice if you cut the spindles in half length ways so they sit flush against the boards. Would also mean you had an extra to make a second mantle. Wonderful and explanation as always.
Oh Jami!!!! It's just BEAUTIFUL!!! I love your creativity!! And Zeb's master carpentry skills!! You are both so inspirational!!! Thank you and much love from BC Canada!!! ❤️❤️💕💕💕
Oh my gosh I forgot it didn't start out as a real mantle ! You guys are SO creative. Just keep"doing you" these are THE best videos. Can't wait to show my husband. I bet this thing flies out of the shop or is it already sold ? Either way it is awesome.
Wow what a difference looks beautiful thanks for the new painting technique I'd seen it before and it's still astounds me and how good it comes out in the end
Looks amazing, love all your hard work, I love that your hubby is working side by side with you, my hubby repairs and helps with all my projects, just awesome ❤️
So pretty and I agree with a lot of the comments about how you get right into it. I’ve been following you for about 4 years maybe more and you guys just get better and better. Jami, there’s a RU-vid channel called “Ask Wardee” and she also has a website but in that video she explains what she uses to get rid of colds and flu effects. Anyway, I believe she uses an elderberry elixir for colds. She’s fantastic but it may help when you feel colds coming on for you and your family.
As I said on your FB page I really didn't think I was going to like this before you started to paint it...but then the magic happened and you did it again ....absolutely love it, in fact, it's one of my favourite pieces of yours
Adorable, awesome job...I love how we drag our tarps all over the house to paint our furniture, especially in winter...hey, we do what we do and it works, you two are so cute when working together, you rock it and thanks for the milk paint tips...!
I am a major fan girl of yall! I have literally binge watched all of your videos! I have watched this one and the French country video over and over! You two are so inspiring!! Thank u so much!
It looks glorious, fabulous...I love it! I’ve said it before but I love how you get on with your videos. You don’t talk it to death in the beginning, telling what you’re going to do. Your commentary and editing is first class. I never skip ahead on your videos but almost always do it on other channels. It’s a pleasure to watch, you are both very entertaining.❤️❤️
Janey, yes!! And they don’t blast you with music. With other videos, I have to keep changing the volume...very frustrating. J & Z know what they’re doing.
Jami it sounds like you need to head to bed! Take care of yourself. We sill be here for you when you feel better! I know it’s hard to be a mom, run a business and not let anyone down but we are here for you. You take care! There is only one you! And you are amazing!
This might be my favorite video you have posted. I love the project...but it is also so clear and easy to see your work! The lighting and the close ups and angles were great. I could even hear Jamie. I can usually hear only Zeb consistently. Thank you and I hope you get well soon.
love!! chippy is my favorite and great video to remind me about using hair drier and wax. going to do this look to a sofa table I'm getting ready to start!
INCREDIBLE....INCREDIBLE !!! You mentioned in your other video on last Wednesday this was sold...CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LUCKY PERSON!!! I love this...perfection !!! 🙏🙏Praying for better health at ALL 🙏🙏
That turned out even better than I was expecting! I have to say that it was SOOO nice to see you guys back in your kitchen! There's something about it that's so warm and awesome. 🥰 Loved today's video! I hope you all are on the mend and feeling better soon.
How could you PAINT this BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT and UNIQUE piece of WOODEN FURNATURES iT sHoLuD bE rEsToReD aNd pUt iN a MuSeUm AnD yOuR bRuShEs TaKeN aWaY
OMG! Love this chippy goodness! My first milk paint attempt was an epic fail, and I’ve been using just Debi DIY paint, for the most part. This definitely made me want to try some milk paint again! Thank you!!!
I wish I could give this video 5 thumbs up! Truly a work of art that y'all have perfected. This is exactly the look I was trying to achieve. I can't wait to get started. Hope y'all feel better soon. 😷👍🤗
Sigh... Do pretty! When I wax over milk paint I get chips of milk paint all in my brush. Does that happen with ya'll? Am I not getting all the pieces off first?
Jami, I so appreciated your comment on the milk and clay-based paints being how paint used to be made. Makes all the sense in the world why vintage, antique items have that look about them that just doesn't come from modern-day paint that's made to not chip and crackle. Awesome video again and you achieved a great-looking piece!
I really like this small fireplace. Jami I sure pray you feel better soon. I feel so bad for you, but you r a trooper, u just keep plugging along! Hopefully all your levels will get straightened out! Love Y'all both!!!
This is my favorite finish, love crackle and chippiness! Amazing transformation especially considering how sick you all have been! Time to go back to bed and get out with your favorite tv shows, if you can with a house full of sick young'uns. Praying for a fast recovery for everyone. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Guy's ...I'm watching a ton of your older videos while you are in Over Sea's Thrifting....they are so Great!! So how do you stop the chipping with this Milk Paint once you are all done...will you do some sort of sealer after you wax it? Thanks :)
When you guys first started this project putting it together I was thinkingwhats this going to look like it surpassed what i thought completely gorgeous
