DR. RODGERS: Traumatic Brain Injury is a leading cause of death and disability in children and young adults in the United States.
Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, Director of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases at NIH.
My colleague, Dr. Walter Koroshetz, Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke explains.
DR. KOROSHETZ: Yes, Traumatic Brain Injury results from a blow or jolt to the head that causes changes within the brain.
This type of injury can happen after a fall, a motor vehicle accident, or even a sports related concussion. Symptoms can be mild to severe depending on the extent of the damage to the structure and function of the brain.
Post concussive symptoms can include headache, confusion and blurred vision, along with sensitivity to light, problems concentrating, or nausea and vomiting.
Most traumatic brain injuries are mild and short lasting, but anyone with ongoing symptoms should seek medical attention right away.

I m suffering from this traumatic pain in the head back side before 5 month and i can't sleep completely. I Feel so tired and uncomfortable whole day and i feel pain in my shoulders and neck back side.. to head 😧

I consulted to neurologist he said if u got vomiting or headache in next 12 hours u should go to st scan Iam ok but i can't focus

Two months ago I was hit by a bus and got a broken nose and broken right rib, now I have facial tingling and numbness that is peripheral Neuropathy which is nerve pain and constant ongoing headaches

Hello I have had a blow to my head on right side of my head 10 years ago , I was unconscious for 10 minutes and I had headache the whole day and for 30 days after getting up in the morning , I have not consulted doctor and not taken any treatment Now from last 3 years I am having symptoms of TBI Mental confusion, blurry vision in one eye , sensitivity to light and sound, I feel as if my right ear drum is broken, balance problem while driving please let me know whether the symptoms are serious and I need to get an MRI scan done.

I have accident 1 day ago their is no headache vomiting or any other issue but I feel like iam in sleeping mode and I didn't remember my accident what's that ???
