"Traumatized Stand-up Comedian Bombs On Stage" by Super Kudzu at The Laugh Factory, May 1st, 2012 Written by Mike McAlister. Starring Ryan Hitchcock. Featuring Amber Kenny. Directed by Mike Betette.
You don't realize how much effort goes into his performance. He has absolutely nailed the image of a awkward and shy stand up comedian. In reality he is absolutely brilliant.
It was too well rehearsed to seem like a naturally awkward/nervous guy. To the point where it felt like he was acting rather than just bring a comedian.
@@NyalBurns "This is my first time doing standup comedy in over 10 years, following a personal tragedy, and ive just been living my life like those years just DIDNT HAPPEN" The joke is a thinking joke. "But now ive accepted the fact that my wife died in a house fire, and im ready to Get back into the game!" After he says to the crowd again "so whos ready for some comedy?!?" He says "so my wife and i were watching tv the other night...." THATS THE JOKE. THE JOKE IS THAT HES LIVING AS THOUGH SHE ISNT DEAD. HOW DO YOU NOT GET THAT. JFC
The dark humour is at a new level with this one. Very excellent strategy, I look forward to see how he evolves, I think he’s on to a very interesting niche.
Holy shit i wrote this comment almost a year ago... It's always been my dream to be a top commenter on a 1+ million viewer video... I'd like to thank my parents, and all voters that made this happen... Thank you *single tear*
I feel like the soccer joke flew over most of their heads. I feel like most of this skit flew over most of their heads. I feel like deez nuts flew over most of their chins.
He's actually a good entertainer. He didn't flinch. He delivered his routine flawlessly. People came for standard comedy fare, and they got a performance. Kudos, dude. 👍
This guys name is Fred Audrey! He lives in upstate New York near the Canadian border. He Bartends and sometimes does open mic at a bar called Pittsburgh brewing company.
He is a famous actor. His name is Giovanni Ribisi. He is in the Movie Ted. He is worth 37 million dollars and he has been in over 40 major motion pictures.
Johnny Allen Shane Prater are you fucking stupid? It's NOT him, the actual comedian's name has even been said below in other comments several times. Why are you being a fucking asshole when all I did was politely correct you?
I watch this at least once a month. This guy's routine was very original and he pulled it off very well, to the point where he had the audience wondering if this was an act or a man falling to pieces before their very eyes.
If anyone didn’t realize this was his act, they must be pretty thick. It’s like when people share with shock and disgust an article they found on the Onion or similar.
He had a cool concept. Tell jokes that "were written" 10 years ago and we watch him slowly start to realize they're not making sense. But then he went somewhere else with it.
+Great Scott I'm pretty sure the person you're attempting to insult is aware of that and that was the entire point they were making, so who's the numb nuts now? Better luck next time, kid.

+Attackofthehank "Traumatized Stand-up Comedian Bombs On Stage" is the name of the skit. It's not saying that the performer actually bombed on stage....
it was all out of pitty, the guy is short, out of shape, butt ugly, a complete dork, and has the personality of a dryer sheet... anybody with a heart would have laughed at his jokes.. He's probably still the manager at Wendy's
This guy picked a niche & went ALL IN. As an aspiring stand-up comedian who has a routine written in his phone but hasn't been brave enough to memorize it and go on stage yet I love analyzing this kind of stuff. I love how unique it is.
The crowd was fine, the point of his act was that it was an act. In his narrative, he "bombed", his delivery of that narrative is the joke, and people had a great time with it
He is a famous actor. His name is Giovanni Ribisi. He is in the Movie Ted. He is worth 37 million dollars and he has been in over 40 major motion pictures.
its because it's a skit *EDIT: why is there this big argument about whether or not this is a skit, sketch, or bit? like I thought i had no life, but this is seriously pathetic.*
+drakean020 go hang out at the laugh factory. Ask a few comedians how they feel about the word skit. They'll tell you they don't do improv, they're comedians, and it's a sketch.
Fascinating watching a guy tell 10 year old jokes, 12 years ago. In a few years the topical references will be total nonsense but the premise will probably always be funny.
He was in character the whole time. Part of the humor was the fact his character wasn't very good at being humorous. Kinda the same how Marlin from "Finding Nemo" trying to tell a joke is funny. It's hilarious because he's terrible at it. Not everyone finds this style of humor funny. That's fine, it isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Yeah, because it's funny based on not being funny. It's like someone winning a prize for being so good at sucking that they had to award him with something, because he's doing it on purpose. It's dumb. See, the jokes themselves aren't supposed to be funny He's supposed to bomb. However, what should bring the comedy is his delivery and how FUNNY he bombs, and that's also not there. That's the core of the gig. He does unfunny jokes with an unfunny delivery making for a very bad set. None of this is funny, even though it's supposed to.
Antoan Markov I see what you're saying. and I actually agree too. If his delivery was good this would probably be hilarious while being in character. It's just that some people take this type of situational humor by face value and I wanted to explain that the humor was in the character.
Only thing I didn't get about the joke was that did he kill his wife and then LATER found out she was pregnant through the voicemail or did he just miss his wife the whole time? He did say he was at a housefire...

+Ongansan Seriously right? I really can't believe how many idiots there are in the comments...wait, this is RU-vid...I take back my original statement...
That's the joke. He isn't saying that he actually bombed. Look at the description it has "Traumatized Stand-up Comedian Bombs On Stage" in quotation marks, like it was the name of the act or something.
+SpecialHandlingUnit It's not click bait. The comedian was basically an actor playing the role of "traumatized comedian with a bad act who is trying to start telling jokes after 10 years". People just read the headline wrong. or, rather, it's initially confusing.
The whole point of the act was that he was traumatized. That why he hadn't done jokes in 10 years. That's why all of his jokes were old and out of date. That's why he kept slipping and saying the wrong words. Again. I think you're confusing the actual standup comedian and the character he is playing in his act. The ACTOR was not traumatized. The ACTOR did not lose his wife in a fire. The CHARACTER was traumatized. THE CHARACTER was bombing. the fact that the audience was laughing at the comedian is irrelevant. They were laughing at the actor, not the character, whose jokes were not funny.
i realize that after i clicked, hence click bait, you state the obvious which just backs up my point....it's click bait. Title should read- Stand up Comedian does routine of being traumatized.... () got to spell it out for you. I was expecting to see a comedian fail on stage, it's clear cut click bait.
Wow. I mean there's always room for improvement, but I've never seen a stand-up act quite like this. Very original and very funny. It takes a certain type of person to make a bit like that work, and he's definitely got it.
I love that according to the description, the performer isn't even the writer, which makes this more of a one man stage performance than a stand up set
Wow you are very perceptive. what gave that away? The entire act, or the plainly visible credits for the writer, actor, AND voice actress who played the mom in the description? xD
@@N8Dulcimer do you now how many people look at the description? Maybe we should more but it ain't needed so I didn't. Didn't know it explained things. But yeah it was just my observation brotha
@@DwayneIsKing Bruh if you watch what looks like a skit you could at least read the description of the skit before typing out a comment about how you missed the point lmao.

Just finished watching this video and gotta say this is probably one of my top 10 stand up bits that I’ve ever seen and I’ve never even seen any of this guys other stuff but this was hilarious lol
Steven Johnson Read the description, name caller. "Written by Mike McAlister. Starring Ryan Hitchcock. Featuring Amber Kenny. Directed by Mike Betette." Written by one person, acted out by another. This was originally published FOUR YEARS AGO by Funny Or Die. It's a skit, name caller. Everyone in it (ie. the audience) are actors.

His timing was too quick for the awkward parts, let it linger a little longer. Then hit that next nervous joke. All in all the jokes were well thought out.
Is this funny comedy or norm Macdonald comedy? Ive recently seen a trend of people trying to explain how norm is a genius and how others dont get his comedy because they dont understand pure comedy. If thats the case that this guy is in the norm Macdonald league. Weird, unfunny and awkward.
Oh you think so? Where are your comedy skits? How long have you been a totally experienced comedian worthy of handing out advice to other working comedians?
I understand why you think that, but if you read the description you'll see that the comedian in the video actually named the routine "blah blah blah comedian bombs"
+6oodfella I think you're missing it. The performance the real-life comedian is doing is of a bad comedian who is traumatized by the death of his wife.
This was obviously an act. If anybody took this guy seriously or thinks the jokes in this aren't spot on humor, then you clearly missed the whole point of the joke.
GabrielNovakStudios I'm reading all these comments and so many people are complaining about the title, completely missing the point of it all. How is it not obvious? It's fucking obvious.
