Okay am I the only one who knows that those guys are from Austria? (It would be as weird to think Canada and the US are the same because same language, next to each other etc. Not one is better than the other but well not the same either 😅)

Not the whole of Germany is Bavaria, actually alot of germans are pissed that most of the world sees Bavarian culture as German culture (altough Bavaria is pretty awesome)
Der VideoGucker It's something performed in the villages of Austria for different occasions which are rooted in the past but still performed today. It usually comes with a village fest, loads of alcohol and people just having a good time over something mutual over every generation (which is part of it's original purpose).
I am dual citizen US/German lived in Germany many yrs I have never seen This in real life. never will zzz Americans and other parts of the world always tend to see Germany like this..like they see Irish people like little green leprecarns with green beards saying OI Oi...this is Bavaria not overall Germany. please enough. aaaaaaahhhhh
Michael Petrov actually this dance has been performen in the city of Traun, Austria, so it's neither. But I get your point concerning Bavarian things being labled as totally German :)

Natürlich is der plattler an sich überall anders aber des außen rum hat wenig mit der bayrischen Tradition .... lange bzw. grün gefärbte Haare ....?? Normalerweise nicht in Bayern... Armes Bayern ....

What a bullshit... there are no military roots. Do you just speak german. I think NO...Traditionally it was neccssary to chop wood for heating in winter. This military attitude/interpretation of german tradition STINKS
