As a Travato 59G owner and an engineer, I enjoy watching your videos to see the high-tech/complicated way to implement instant hot water and to avoid putting water from the shower drain into the gray tank. My wife and have I implemented much simpler/"low-tech" methods to achieve "instant" hot water and to avoid putting shower drain water into the gray tank. As a bonus, our systems work very well even in cold/freezing weather. We heat water on the cook top or in the microwave and place into thermos bottles that we keep on a suction cup mounted shelf above the basin in the bathroom. We also tend to use much less hot water when using from the thermos as opposed to from the faucet. With regard to keeping water from the shower pan from going into the gray tank, we use a 300 mL (10 ounce) syringe to transfer the water from the shower pan into gallon jugs which we then use either for toilet flushing or black tank rinsing. We store up to two the gallon jugs on the sides of the toilet, secured to the wall using miniature bungee cords connected to Command strip mounted hooks. Rick W0RCF
This is again amazing. I can see a great advantage. After showing 2X, it is almost always necessary to dump, which is a major pain when it's not available.
There are systems which filter and subject filtrate to UV purification for a recirculating shower, but would be too difficult to retrofit into a Travato. Best for van builds from scratch. Thanks for your interest!
What a brilliant solution. Would you be able to post a complete parts list. I was able to find the ball valve from a previous post, but I was not able to figure out which double pole, double switch to order and what other parts I would need to complete the job. Thanks again for a great solution. I am thrilled!
Well that would be limited by fresh water supply, but check out my other videos on my Hot Water recirculating system. I have designed it to conserve water and gray tank space while it gets hot. I can literally get instantaneous hot water without wasting any water or using up gray tank space with wasted water.
@@travato1592 I will, thanks. BTW: The recirculating pump + heat exchanger was mean to constantly recirculate the shower water (after in-line filtering) in a loop. Forever. No run-off into grey-water holding.
@@patrickmchargue7122 Oh, gotcha. Ya, I have seen some of these designed into a build from scratch van. Travato G would be hard to retrofit. Probably possible in a K, sacrificing some of the bathroom storage.
