Travel Day - Stansted To Zante Flying With TUI Are They Any Good?

Tui is definitely a decent and amazing airline. I haven't had problems with Tui and the service with Tui has been amazing each time we travel with them. Jet2 are another great airline too. Both Tui and Jet2 are brilliant. ❤

My experience with Greek people is they are always so nice and helpful - they are polite and try to do what they can to help you. Its a crying shame what is happening in some parts of Greece at the moment

Stansted is so convenient for us. And Hampton by Hilton does a MAGNIFICENT breakfast. We had an early fight to Marrakech 10 days ago and you would think at 4am that it would all be hit and miss....but we were wrong: happy uniformed staff welcoming you, spotlessly clean, smell of fresh coffee, superb selection of hot food, cheeses, meats, pastries, juices etc - true TOP quality. We were stunned

Oh wow, that brings back so many memories. I stayed there donkey years ago in the apartment part. It wasn't so built up then but I'm talking 1993 or 94 if I remember. We also had a earthquake when we there. We hired a scooter and travelled around some of the island, utterly beautiful. I do love Greece.

As usual, always interesting and enjoyable to share your travel experiences. Personally, I have always preferred the smaller hotels where, generally, you receive a more personal service as opposed to being just a body occupying a room.

Always try to stay in a proper Greek family run hotel when I travel their. Like you said, the owners give you that personal welcome and I find it more enjoyable than your 5 star hotels. Worked in Zante for 2 years for Tui when i was an entertainer in their hotels in Protaras . Loved it their . And airport so tiny its a breeze when we sometimes had to do airport duties . You need to go to Protaras its a lovely wee resort snd be good for Gabby and the little one mate .

Tim, I learn something new when I watch your vlogs! As I live on the west coast of Canada, I actually had to look up Zante I`d not heard of it before. The access you have to Europe because of the proximity is enviable! I left England when I was 15, and then (early sixties) the average person didn`t really travel to Europe much, and it`s great that you can get relatively inexpensive flights. Thanks for taking me along!

I love how people clap when the plane lands. I used to wonder why on a plane, but not a bus or train. I now know it is because they are just relieved they survived!

The clapping atter landing is one Americanism I could do without. Saying that when I flew into JFK last year we had a large group of Jewish men and they started singing when we landed which was quite epic.

Wet room bathrooms are mostly restricted to the Ionian islands. Most places in Greece have functional, dirt cheap and reasonably pleasant bus service run by entities known as ΚΤΕΛ. They don't do a great job of making themselves known to tourists though. Taxis are very reasonably priced too, though you should get an estimate beforehand because there's a few bad apples in the busiest Aegian islands. Car drivers should be comfortable with mountainous switchbacks, nad it's wise to get a video of the state of the car and fuel when you get it. You should make it clear if you want a manual or automatic, there isn't a default preference. Sightseeing suggestions are generally cool, eating suggestions are generally cousins.

Wow, I love this style of video detailing all the stages through the airport and onto the hotel. The hotel looks cute I just love it, nice room and so cheap too especially with a good view like that! .Fantastic views from the plane of the European scenery and landing are a welcome addition . Enjoyed that. When I fly it's always essential to have a window seat! Look forward to the Island tour vid on Sunday! 👍

Just back last sunday from Zante to Glasgow with Tui, great flights, no delays, off at Zante Airport, transfer 15mins to hotel in Kalamaki - brillant two weeks

I'm 50 years old and haven't been abroad for donkey's years. Actually, the 2nd to last holiday I went on was to Zante.. in 2001!! I'm thinking of booking a holiday for next year on my own, but the thought of all that airport stuff makes me proper nervous as the previous times I've flown, I was always with someone who knew what to do and I just followed their lead! Just thinking of all that passport, baggage, terminal and gate stuff stresses me out! It's probably dead easy and once you've done it once, it's no problem, but initially, it's a bit of a worry for a home-body like me! 😄

UK airports seem to have fallen behind many asian ports like Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul etc

Mate: I’m the other side of the world and never used Stanstrad and knew they had a rail station (I have used the other airports). The Stanstead Express is run like the HE and the Gatwick Express. Now Zante I’ve never heard of. 🤣🤣

TUI are generally alright on long haul flights done a few 12+ hour flights with them, they keep the food and alcohol coming free of charge.

TUI are about the same as all the rest of the airlines who are in this market, What I always remember is that when they were Britannia and were leagues above everything else, well until Air 2000 came along. They should bring back the food as part of the flight, by adding on say £10 per passenger when booking no one would notice this, and again make them better than the competition.

Great video once again Tim. It always makes me laugh when you land and the passengers all start clapping… why? You wouldn’t do that at the end of a bus journey or train journey. Never understood it.
