The Worst Hotels In Sandsky Ohio
Sandusky Ohio is home to Cedar Point, one of America’s biggest and best amusement parks chocked full of roller-coaster goodness.
On my many travels to Sandusky I’ve found that due to Sandusky’s relative size the accommodation stock falls into one of two categories, modern and expensive or run-down and affordable with not many happy mediums.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Sandusky, especially Cedar Point, however this video was born out of a little frustration that to stay overnight you need deep pockets or a deep tetanus shot!
Have you stayed over in Sandusky? Which hotels would you recommend for a trip to Cedar Point?

Stayed at the La Quinta hotel it was great. pet friendly and clean.

If you're on a budget but don't want to stay at a bad hotel, then Cedar Point should only be a 1 day trip. You can stay in a decent hotel in Cleveland or Columbus on your way to Kings Island

Want a nice hotel? Stay at The Breakers on site. The Maples, however, is meant to be retro and basic.

Stay at breakers. It’s a nice hotel, you get early entry into the park, and it’s a 5 min walk to get in. The other hotels are terrible

I stayed at Lighthouse point on site!!! Absolutely loved that highly recommend. It's also a camp site so you can take your camper. We stayed in a cabin. Love Cedar Point!!!!

Stayed 3 nights at the Travel lodge north. $69 + taxes. It was pretty bad to say the least.

Isn't there any "cheap" hotel/B&B near Cedar Point that doesn't look like it just came out of a horror movie? I'm considering a five days trip to Cedar Point in the near future...

Hey Mattia I’d recommend booking through hotels.com (not sponsored) when you’ve stayed 10 nights with them you get one free, good for future trips etc. There aren’t many cheap hotel options unfortunately in Sandusky, try to stick to a national chain (Baymont / Days / Comfort Inn or Super 8) and look at the traveler photos on tripadvisor to get a realistic impression of what the hotel is actually like. If you are getting a Cedar Point season pass (for 5 days at park) they offer a discount off the official on-site hotels which can make them slightly more affordable Hope that helps! Not these in particular, in Sandusky I’ve stayed at the Clarion Inn, which was bulldozed! The Magnuson Hotel East Sandusky which is a decommissioned Days Inn, think your Grandmother’s house in the 80’s very floral .. and Hotel Breakers … one of those options was considerably better than the others! It’s always bugged me that the hotels are so expensive for what you get .. Cedar Point thou

I do love Breakers for the location … don’t love the mortgage application form that comes with the bill so much 🤷‍♂️

Nothing trash about our hotels. They are fine. Never judge a book by it's cover there are plenty of affordable options in Sandusky.

Thanks Super Sanic, I do agree there are some good affordable options in Sandusky, it's just a shame that the operators take advantage of Cedar Point customers and haven't upgraded their properties.
