A BIG thank you to everyone who submitted questions! We apologize for how lengthy this video turned out, but we really wanted to answer every question as thoroughly as we could. As a reminder, we have time stamps in the description if you want to just listen to a few of the questions and we have links to any resources we mentioned during the video in the description as well! Our next Q&A will be about van life specifically. Comment below with any questions you have and we will try to answer them!
We appreciate that! We have gotten a lot better at finding a balance and taking breaks if needed. It’s hard because we love doing it and don’t want to disappoint anyone, but mental health is the most important thing! ❤️
Found you guys yesterday after looking for some Grand Teton hiking videos. I heard your 'lil reference to Kara and Nate when talking about your planning process. I've been following them for a year or so, but always wished they had more US content, especially the National Parks. I feel like I've hit the jackpot after finding this channel!! I subscribed straight away. Now just got to be patient and wait for things to go back to normal and see you both travelling again!
Ahhh this makes us so happy! 🙌🏼🤗 We of course wish we could travel more internationally, but we are so happy we can show our fellow US citizens places super close to home to explore and show others around the world how beautiful the US is! We will be patiently waiting with you, but once we can hit the road again...it’s going to be amazing! 🎉
I absolutely love your channel as it is so informative and you seem to show and comment on different things than others. I really appreciate how you two juggle work life and blog/vlog life. But I would like to give you permission to occasionally skip a week if the need is there. I am now retired and came from a really stressful job, and am finally appreciating life more with the focus on my needs more than everyone else. Love you two. Love your content and remember to enjoy life!
Thank you for the kind words! And for trying to get us to take a break, we really suck at that! Now that we do this full time we are hoping to have more balance, but currently it’s just too hectic. Trying to take small breaks as we can!
You really invest alot of time and effort planning your trips, this is something l have to become better with. No more winging it with random restaurant's, too many ingestible meals!!😧 Thanks for your help and ideas for a more fulfilling trip experience!!😊 Stay safe and Stay in everyone until the open road is safe again!!😊🍁
Oh man it’s a ton of work, but it’s truly my passion, so I love doing it! And our goal is to do all of the hard work for you so you can just read one of our guides (or watch one of our videos) and show up and have a blast! 🙌🏼
Enjoyed watching your videos the last several days. I commend you for the vlogs; but you're doing the right thing by not letting them ru(i)n your life! I've been a serious hobbyist photographer for years; but have always resisted any urge to go commercial (a lot of work involved; as you well know). Thankfully, retired from a 2nd job at Intel Corp 5 years back (retired from the Mil prior to that). Other than this year; a cross country adventure 5 of the previous 6 years. Good for you guys for getting to the Dolomites; been to Italy many times in the service, but never made it to the Italian Alps; Slovenia was the closest I came. Hope to make it to Ireland (should have accompanied my wife to Scotland several years back). Canceled a trip to Patagonia and for a pre-routed hike at Torres del Paine; Covid intervened; hopefully I will make it there eventually. Have fun and stay healthy!
Thank you for watching! Lately it feels like they do run our life haha, but doing this full time now adds an extra pressure. But balance is key and will be key as we move forward! The Dolomites are AMAZING and we really want to visit Slovenia. And Patagonia!
We mayyyy film a vlog in the woods behind my parent’s house sometime in the future! 😃 We are lucky they live in a beautiful area near the lake and with very secluded trails!
Thank you for all you do! You’re vlogs and information checks off a lot of boxes for me. I’m a super planner and love hitting the National Parks. Keep up the great work!
If you loved the Dolomites you have to visit Switzerland, it literally is the most beautiful place - if you go July/August the hiking and climate is UNREAL.
It’s so helpful! We put money in all three savings accounts (each for different goals) each month and it helps us see our progress towards goals easier!
What an incredible resource! Thank you guys so much. I love your positive spirit and teamwork, and appreciate how much work you put into your great vlogs and blog. Kudos and thanks for all the wonderful content!
Just watched your video and you did great! I knew you could do it!Stay safe and take care of yourselves and remember Jesus loves you! I just prayed for both of you!
Thank you guys, those are pretty good infos! I am kinda planning the same as what you guys are already doing so this and your other videos are very inspiring! I make travel guide videos and a blog myself, so your your videos are great inspiration to get better!
Some ideas for vlogs : knowing you're from TX some great TX hikes like Lost Maples and Enchanted Rock in the Fall. We hiked the Sandia Mts in Albuquerque , and in the winter it's beautiful up at the top. Bandolier near Santa Fe was really fun also in the winter.
We actually filmed an Enchanted Rock vlog a few after this one, we love it there! And we are hoping to film a bit more in NM this winter! We love it there too! Thank you so much for the ideas, especially as we head back to Texas soon 😃
Kauai is my favorite island. I’ve been to all of them except for Mollikai. We’re actually going to Kauai for 12 days November 2022. It’ll be my 10th time on the island. I do live in California so it’s much easier to get there. It’s hands down my favorite tropical place in the world.
We really hope so too! The trip was going to combine everything we love: large and smaller towns, hiking, historical sights, and food. We are hopeful we can make it happen sometime this year! 🤞🏼
@@AdventuresofAplusK I've only been to Lima, but some suggestions are shopping at the Inca Market, Miraflores, LarcoMar and eating at Pardos. Fingers crossed for you!
Could you show us what you use to film your vlogs please and what equipment you use when on city breaks for filming and photography. Thanks and you guys are our fave travellers all the best from the UK . Stay safe x
Thanks so much for watching! Here’s a link if you want to check out all of our gear: kit.co/AdventuresofAplusK/vlogging-photography-gear. We can try to talk about it in more detail soon! 🤗
Christmas in Europe is AMAZING!! We had the chance to travel to Europe during the Christmas season with our two boys who were three and one at the time and they loved it, i mean we all love it. If you do end up going i suggest you visit Vienna and if you want to visit Italy during this season make sure you go after December 7th when their official "Buon Natale season begins" , another beautiful town we wanted to visit but didn't because of flight issue was Nuremberg, Germany which is one of the most popular places to visit during Christmas. And if don't do a Europe Christmas trip come on over the the Northeast coast and visit NYC and Philly. Stay safe you guys. hugs from Pennsylvania.
Ahhh you got us even more excited about the possibility! Germany and Austria are on our list of possible spots, but we'd definitely love to visit Italy again! We hope to visit Philly and New England in the fall as well for all of the foliage too 😍We hope you're staying safe and healthy!
So I have kind of a personal question. If you don’t want to answer it I understand. About how much a month can y’all make doing the rv thing on UTube and how long did it take you to get there? And by the way y’all are doing a great job. You shouldn’t worry about how long your videos are. You both really work good together or your editing is great or both. Whatever it is don’t stop what your doing.
Between our website (which makes about double or more of what RU-vid makes us) and RU-vid, plus affiliate income and other side projects (like freelance writing), the monthly income is between $7-$9k a month. It fluctuates a lot depending on the month, as ad spend varies and so does traffic. We started our blog back in 2015, but started to take it seriously in 2018, so it took us about 3 years to get to the point where we made a full time living off of it. RU-vid alone does not provide us enough income to live, but it does help a lot! And thanks for the kind words!
WELL DONE!!. Adam you remind us of one of our son in laws, lol. he's also a web developer, (in Austin), We did research on areas as well. We found that whatever area we stayed in had multiple POI, and laundry, LOL. Staying a BnB's is super. We pulled a 35 ft TT with our RAM, for us staying at military bases was our $$ saver. Be Safe
That is awesome! We stayed a LOT in parking lots the last part of this year due to no free campgrounds, but looking forward to heading West again at some point where there is lots of free public land!
That was awesome guy's nice to get a bit of an insight as to how you plan stuff and your day to day lives. I was supposed to have spent this week kicking back on the beach at Noosa in Queensland but no and Singapore in June has also been canned. Anyway well all get through this and be out and about soon. Take care 👍👍👍
We’re so glad you liked it Glenn! It was a bit scary for us to try something new! And what a bummer about your trips. Hopefully you can reschedule them for sometime in the future! 🤞🏼
@@AdventuresofAplusK You're naturals guy's I'm sure people would love to see more stuff like that while we're locked away and it takes my mind off the fact I still have to go to work 🙁
I really enjoy your RU-vid channel and blog posts. It's great that you are living a carefree life. I have a question if you can address on your next Travel Q&A video. Did you go back and forth between the Sprinter 144" WB and the 170" WB? Was it difficult to get used to driving the 170" WB? Thanks.
That’s a good question! And one we probably don’t have a very good answer for haha 😬😬 We have focused more on physical security and ensuring all items are insured. Any suggestions of what we should look into? We have been thinking about a VPN.
Kathryn... if we’re having this conversation... kidding. I saw the other day that lifelock and Norton teamed up, but you especially might want to look around for not only online security protection, but vpn protection(in case someone is running a detailed wireshark scan).
And by the way, your video was not nearly long enough. Can you guys do a live Q and A Facebook video sometime? It would be sweet to interact that way! Plus, we could all eat tacos and drink coffee!
Question regarding with the COVID-19. Among you guys and youtube vloggers you guys know are currently traveling now, how do you guys prevent yourselves from getting the virus(Airbnb , rental cars, going to attractions)? And if you know there are some vloggers getting sick although they are taking the precautions you could? I think it would be a really good tips helping ppl to explore all the measurements can take to have a safe travel during this time.Thank you 😊
Hi Aaron! We’re lucky that we spend about 90% of our time in our “house” (our van), which we can keep super clean and don’t have to worry about others infecting it. Which is a huge perk of the van vs. traveling more traditionally with Airbnb’s, rental cars, etc. The only times we aren’t in the van lately is to go to the grocery store, laundromat, get take out, and go on hikes, but whenever we do we always wear a mask (or have it handy if we are outside in case we get near people), sanitize our hands a ton afterwards, and honestly avoid humans as much as possible minus a few people we trust. We are skipping visiting anything where social distancing isn’t possible (like indoor attractions or big tour type activities). I hope that helps a bit! We are trying very hard to be super careful and feel very confident our risk of getting the virus (and more importantly giving it to others) is low.
Adventures of A plus K Yas!!!!!! Thank you 😊 That’s extremely helpful! The mobile home is really making this actually durable. I also have some friends just brought a van or is planning to buy a RV type A or B. We are planning to work remotely , and rent an Airbnb for 5 weeks in New Mexico in end of August (and yes! I have checked all your NM videos lol) properly will use Lysol spray the hell out of all the sitting areas and beds... 😂 your channel is like a dream life for me coz we live in Houston Texas and we want to move to WA. 😂 I have been watching tons of your videos. Definitely learn a lot 🥰🥰🥰
That is amazing! Y'all are going to have a blast! And you should totally move to WA...it's the best! 🙌We loved living there so much and are so happy to be back there right now! After I commented back to you we actually booked an Airbnb for a few days next month so we can catch up on some work without worrying about internet and power. Lysoling everything sounds like a good plan haha!
Nice videos, I’m married with no kids and love traveling, wish I could do more but don’t feel pressured to have children only when you’re ready. Best of luck.
Which Hawaiian Island do you think would be the most “liveable”? Thinking of moving there. I know each island appeals to everyone differently. I heard Maui has the best of everything combined. I know you said a little about the Hawaiian islands in this video.
The Hawaii questions are so hard for us! We went back and forth after filming this if we even answered it correctly lol! 🤣🙈 Maui would be amazing! We would love to own a place on one of the islands one day and always say it’ll be Maui. It has a lot of the conveniences of the mainland (like a Costco, grocery stores, tons of shops), but without feeling as busy as Oahu. And of course tons of amazing beaches and hikes and things to do!
Adventures of A plus K Thank you so much for replying! : ) Sounds like your advice matches what I have researched! We loved Oahu but the Honolulu/Waikiki area was pretty crowded. North Shore where we stayed at Turtle Beach Resort was so gorgeous. Great for a nice vacation but not so much livable. We just got back from the Big Island. Lots of lava in Kona but they sure have great coffee!Hilo was green and lush. We went to the black sand beach and were blessed to get to see 11 turtles lounging on the sand. Such a thrill!!! 💕. Thanks again for your reply. I am enjoying your videos so much. Such a sweet couple. God bless you guys. Stay safe and like you said, Wash your hands! : )
The North Shore is amazing! But yes, definitely a bit farther from some of the conveniences we are used to here on the mainland! That is amazing about the turtles! We loooove seeing turtles, they are so cool! Thank you so much for watching our videos and the kind words, we really appreciate it! ❤☺
Thanks William! We have been to 6 countries and 24 states! We only count the ones we have been to together, so individually our numbers are a tad higher. As for restaurants? Probably thousands lol! 🤣🤣
We are so happy to hear that Angie! 😃It was definitely a different format for us, but it was fun to try something new and we're excited to try more different types of videos soon!
Hahahah we treat our credit cards like a debit card and get SOOO many perks! I think we have about $2k+ worth of points saved up right now from not traveling for over a year!
Hey guys thank you so much for this video, no worries on the length! Another idea for a local food options that my boyfriend and I do is look up Guy Fiere's, Diners Drive ins and Dines for that local place and we get so many good ideas! We also ask local small shops of some sweet input and advise on local fun places. :)
This was a great vlog vid you guys are so thorough and detailed thank you so much for all of the effort you put into adventures of A+K! Def. using your Italy guide if my husband and I are able to travel in the winter and the pandemic is over. You guys are the best!
Hahaha mad props to those who can juggle both! But we have plenty of time before worrying about that and maybe we will be able to juggle things better by then! 😃
