It's beautiful, quiet, and interesting! I love the tour - thanks! Your videos help a lot. I'm going to the Brighton Beach / "Little Odessa" part of New York City this summer. It's densely populated with Russian-speaking people and I'll have a chance to speak in Russian language at shops & restaurants and try some real Russian foods. It's not real Russia but I'm excited.

@Scrat335

In my travels around Russia (that part of Russia anyway, usually to the sw towards Smolenck) I noticed a seemingly neglectful attitude but there are reasons. There are several problems. 1. There are so many places like this the cost to restore them all would be tremendous. 10s of billions? 2. They're old in every way. Old style construction, old style materials (wood, concrete and brick mostly) and they do not lend themselves to modern upgrades easily. Look at modern buildings in America, it's all plastic, glass, metal frames and sheet rock. I think that if you were to "modernize" these places you would utterly destroy the character in the process. Would you really want to "modernize" and "upgrade" these places? Restore them yes, but where are you going to get the people with the knowledge and skills to do such work? Sadly only so many can be saved/preserved.

Very beautiful and very sad many buildings and houses are neglected and abandoned. What do you think is the reason since it’s “only” 3 hrs from Moscow? I much prefer these small provincial towns to huge cities that tend to look all alike

Daria you should set up a patreon. Maybe people can help contribute to your work/cause so you're not entirely dependent on adsense for financial support. Just an idea.
@troycambo
@troycambo 6 лет назад
You can offer one-on-one coaching etc for higher tiers of support. Or other perks. Eg. If they contribute a certain amount they can have the chance to request video topics or locations etc. Aside from maybe generating some extra income it would increase the level of interactivity between you and viewers. I think you are a very cool person btw.
@RealRussianClub
@RealRussianClub 6 лет назад
thank you for the suggestion. If people want to support me, they can purchase some of my ebooks and courses:) prices are $5-$69. But at least it's a win-win situation, not just a donation :D Here: realrussianclub.com/premium-courses/
@troycambo
@troycambo 6 лет назад
Yes that's a good offering. Patreon could run alongside. There are several benefits. Book sales are sporadic with sales high one month and changing the next whilst patreon donations are more dependable and allow you to plan ahead since you have a better idea of how much income you'd get that month. Patreon supporters can also feel more a part of your channel and its growth whereas a book sale is just a separate product and somewhat unconnected to the videos. I think your channel is one of the best candidates cos the channel is very personality-driven and "hands-on" for a language channel. Supporters would also feel a sense of 'ownership' when they support you and vested in your success. But again I think it would really allow a new level of interaction between you as the creator and the fans. I think your channel has this very "intimate" feel so it'd likely be a good fit.
@RealRussianClub
@RealRussianClub 6 лет назад
does patreon pay you? XD sorry, just kidding:) I know patreon can be good, I just don't know how to use it :D
@lessthanten5210

.......... Patreon is a good idea if their charges would't be that high and confusing. My last action on that platform was the following. I wanted to give a vlogger $5. I paied $6 due to tax + conversion fee from paypall. The vlogger received $4.20 from which another fee is taken by patreon + an additional conversion fee at the cash-out. Their supportdoes also not work. From four messages I sent them none was answered so far. Better to stay away.
