Rural/Metro Tender 7542 has arrived and Grants Pass City Engine 7307 is arriving on scene.
City of Grants Pass Fire-Rescue should not be confused with the Grants Pass Rural Fire Department. Grants Pass City has a professional fire department as Grants Pass Rural is just an F'n joke! BTW the City and Rural/Metro work together and have an excellent mutual-aid agreement.
Later on personal on scene would find out that the address for the incident was incorrect and that the actual address had a contract with Grants Pass Rural Fire Department.
Why this 300 square mile area of Josephine County, Oregon can not have a public tax-based fire department is beyond me. Having "3" private fire departments competing for contracts is just wrong.

@pcooke Rural/Metro Corporation is a FOR PROFIT company on NASDAQ and is based in Arizona. Inland is also out of Arizona but don't know much about them. As for Grants Pass Rural it's a famly owned company, has been since the 1950's.

This is the first video I've seen in this area where new, fully equipped truck shows up. The city FD does have proper equipment right?

ShinGojira 1954 yup. Grants pass City is a fully tax funded municipal department. They're the best equipped and trained in josephine county hands down

Fire departments shouldn't be something that's contracted. Either all donation based with a private dispatch or tax bases are the only truly effective systems. And 100% donation departments can only exist with a community to properly support it.

Are these departments for profit? How do you even have such a thing? I guess I am just used to tax based, government run departments.

I guess I am not understanding the reasoning why Inland FD wouldn't at least help out RM since they were at the scene. It seems to me thats a lawsuit waiting to happen there. Its a shame those 3 depts don't work together better. Guess its the citizens that suffer.

They are ether 30 min or 45 min but realistically unless you are from a major city that breaks multiple structure fires a day you will burn through a 45 min bottle in 20

I agree with your statement that 3 private fire departments in compition is just wrong. # private fire dpetartments in general is not a bad thing I feel. Just the incompition part is what I feel is wrong. So long as people are safe and do not die that is the most important thing in m point of view. Thank you for sharing.

Iv heard of very few good, and successful private fire departments. Most are ones that deal with industrial fires. Other good ones help the poorly funded small town departments. In a case like this.. Its a disgrace...

yeah but at least they make it look good, looks like they actually know how soap and water works, unlike GPRFD's trucks. hahaha, look at me, making them sound like a real department.
