Nelson is really a Palace surrounded by an Estate... I does have a Township of three Cities in it though... And they are Procter, Slocan and Salmo... That is the way it has been since medieval days... And Vancouver is a Palace too... I heard that there may be a third Palace area built soon, centered around Fort Saint John...
Last month there were three overdose deaths in Nelson in one week. Clean?..... hardly. But, a lot of the rightwing dipnodes of Nelson wanted a "world class" destination. They got it alright! Tons of petty theft and hard drugs.
Also, this video is from a very light traffic time of day or day itself (sunday or holiday?).... traffic is annoying and pushy in this town now. Yep, I live here.
Also, more recently, lots of grubby graffitti. I like graffitti on washroom walls, train cars and alleys, but some of the rats have "tagged" beautiful old rock walls!
This was obviously filmed late in the day ( can tell by the direction the sun is coming from). 2001 was over 20 years ago. Nelson is 10 times busier now than then.

It's a pretty good program and have had a lot of positive feedback from it. Nelson is a growing place and increasingly seeing more and more diversity. A beautiful place to be with some great people, wonderful scenery and a thriving community! :)
