You could put a jump ring on the charm. Then it will go on easier and lay flat.

you need a jump ring to make the charm hang properly. It will also make it easier to get it on the elastic

I have the same “overthinker” patch for one of my covers. Just haven’t figured out which one I want to put it on. Definitely add a jump ring to the charm. It’ll lay straight and easier to change out on new elastics.

Put the charm on the bookmark that would look lovely

Next time your elastic frays get a lighter and burn the end it will seal the string so it stops fraying and also it makes it harder so you can thread charms easier xx

Add a jump ring. That will work.
