I live in an 86 Dolphin. I have so many things to tell you. Example, you should have a safety window that completely opens, that’s where I brought my new fridge in, and other larger items. Also, the bathroom is super easy to upgrade. I shower in mine regularly. Anyway, you’ve done a great job!
@@danielratner I've only replaced the toilet, put new walls and trim, an LED touch/dimmer light, and a fan. Two things I plan to do, pull the shower base, make a full bath shower base with the toilet sealed on top, and re-routing the shower drain to switch from an outside or grey tank run-off. Oh yeah, I put the shower curtain track to the wall and around, so there is tons of head/shoulder room, even if the foot space is smaller.
@@blessedwithchallenges9917 Hell yeah! That sounds great.. I'll post a video of mine soon. I have the 300 (kitchen in back). It was $2000 and I am restoring it and living in it. I also have 300 watts of solar and 600 amp hours of batteries. Currently got the same upgrades as you, but soon will be working on. I like your switch idea... may do the same for showering
For Julie: You are living my dream! I have a Class C and whenever I have a friend in it, they tend to pour their heart out to me. I do work in a helping profession, but I’m not licensed to practice...yet! #goals! Congratulations on all you’ve achieved!💕
Hey guys, hi Julie! So, this video was so awesome and what incredible timing. I have a 1984 Toyota Dolphin myself that i scored in 2009 here in Chico, CA where i live. Guess what her name is??? Dolly! And i bought her primarily to live in while pursuing my vinyasa yoga teaching certification from Shiva Rea in So Cal 11 years ago. Unfortunately i have let my Dolly fall into a sad state, i let some friends live in her for a year and currently its a mess! I'm just now embarking on a remodel (Dolly 2.0...thanks Julie for that one) so i would love to stay in touch. I will look ya up and hopefully swap some yoga RV tales. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Namaste.
I've been discovering so many of these tour sharing channels lately and I have to say You're my favorite, shows everything really well while pointing things out without talking over the owners. Overall such a great vibe!
I’ve watched you for quite some time, but I honestly now have a NEW respect for you Jarrod! Thank you so very very much for doing this particular tour and interview!
What a lovely lady and a lifestyle that smashes it. The van looks great and I was surprised at how much space it has inside. I like your laid back style Jarred and being able to find some great people to interview.
The most beautiful camper I have ever met, it swallows my heart, I can't take my eyes off such a masterpiece, everything about it is absolutely beautiful😍😍thanks for the review👍
This is incredible Julie!! You did such a great job keeping the old vintage and new balance!! It seems cozy, functional and home like. I'm curious about dolphins now! Peace. ✌
Absolutely needs a channel! Please!!! Share your journey, what works for you and your experiences!!! I would listen and I love your home ❤ I'm 66 but I see me here rather than a van or tiny house!!
Love this!! You go girl! I’m also a holistic mental health therapist and spiritual counselor in private practice and in the market for buying a class c so I can travel around and see my clients anywhere! Can’t wait for the freedom!!
I love it! You did an amazing job! I too gutted and remodeled a 22ft 1978 Chevy Shasta Class C. I cannot find another one like mine anywhere and it would be so nice to find another but no luck yet. I too have dullies 😁 I wish you all the best and a life full of many wonderful memories.😊
Very cool that this rig has a tag axle to handle the weight. Prior to 1986 Toyota would sell those chassis with light half ton axles to builders who would then put a ton of weight on them. A lot of those older Toyotas had the axle break on the road. After 1986 or so, Toyota would only sell builders the 3/4 ton axle. My brother and I both had 1985 units. He found a 3/4 ton axle that he put on his. It made it so much more stable on the road. Mine with the half ton axle was kind of squirrelly to drive and I was always worried about not carrying too much water weight. It took a while to get used to the sway when big trucks went past. At first, I feared that a wind gust would tip it over. My rig had the same interior layout as Julie's. Plus it had a slide out for the dining area. I kind of wish I hadn't sold it. I'd probably strip down to the bare chassis and build my own light-weight design on it. This is a beautiful update job. Great interview Jarrod.
Amazing dolphin, I redid an a mid 80's winnebago brave...100's of hours new gray, mocha cabinets, turned out incredible...a lot of sweat equity but fun..used it for many years.. and sold it to another family and broke even...It's living its life touring the country..desert S.West.it has as a Saguaro Cactus stained glass door. Just joined you channel...
I love your life. Congratulations for Living your dream. My dream is similar and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice too. I own my Dolphin now, but haven't done any renovations yet so I have still have the fake oak walls and cabinets. Thank your for being an inspiration.
I'm glad that she brought up the engine power. I had a pickup with a 22R engine, and as a pickup it was happy to go up hills, and pull just about anything. I really like what you've done with the interior. Wood grain gets old after awhile.
Please experience the Triangle T Guest Ranch in Dragoon AZ. We are transitioning to an experiential wellness center and have amazing energy and history!
These were Dolphins remedy to a law suit brought against Toyota. The original frame was a 1/2 ton pick up designed for smaller size boxes. Coach manufactures started putting heavier/longer coaches overloading the frames, thus a lawsuit against Toyota which eventually got coach manufactures involved. Ultimately the coach manufactures were found at fault and a recall was ordered. Dolphins remedy wad a cheap repair where they welded a box tube to the frame and put on the tires to take some of the load. Other coach manufactures removed the 1/2 ton axles and correctly installed the 1 ton dually axles.
I have the Toyota warrior, 1992, Winnie , with a 1991 6 cylinder truck chassis. I’m doing a good amount of renovation this 2021 summer season to give it my own style. Only 94,000 miles. Love it . Drives like a small box truck, but would love it to be a manual stick. Nice oldie.
Loving the idea of a psycho therapist on the road. You are doing good works and seeing new sights at the same time. As to YOU TUBE......seems like a good idea financially speaking.....but consider the time restriction.....maybe have to give up some free time.....I think you are wise to give this one a "maybe" Meanwhile....I would be happy to have you as my therapist. Your charm and sunny attitude goes a long way. Good luck to you in these trying times. I'll bet you will find plenty of clients on the road. What a novel idea.
For Julie: PLEASE get a RU-vid channel!!!!! WE NEED you in the world at the moment!! And I’m SO very very glad that you decided to do this particular Tour and interview today it was absolutely PERFECT and show YOUR own growth as a person & channel as well! Because it’s not just what everyone else is doing, this one was literally showing her as a human being and hopefully shining a light on some mental health right now JUST a little bit as well as just telling people (as I always believe!!!!!) that we SHOULD get outside and meet our neighbors at the VERY least!!!! Human interaction face TO face!
This is awesome, thank you. I'm an LMT, but my career has kind of taken a bit of a dive. Have been thinking about going this route myself. I'm from Oregon, but live in Phoenix currently - also a bird lol 😊
I have an older, small RV (an 18 y/o VW/Winnebago Vista what was only made for three years) that is laid out similarly though my bathroom is a little bigger, and I had just been wondering what happens when my fridge needs to be replaced as my door is also very narrow. So now I know! GEEEZZZ! Mine doesn't have a window in the front but still had quite a bit of water damage in the front. Luckily for me, it was repaired by the dealer. Nice remodel! All the best with your Dolphin and your travels!
All of us here talking about our vintage rigs need to form an Oldies RV Club or something - hahaha! Seriously, would like to compare notes...my oldie was damaged and I am going to have to do cab-over repair, too..
Julie, Awesome rig. A guy on my paper route had a single and double axle, I loved them both and wanted them both. Both sat and rotted away and were scrapped before I knew it.
Certainly the nicest Dolphin I've ever seen. Most are quite rough or worse. Interesting that Julie had the vision to update the RV and do it quite tastefully. Next upgrade? The Toyota supercharged V6 that goes into the Lotus Evora and a 7-speed manual behind it!
This is the best Dolphin you will ever see...I owned one for a few years and the joy is at the destination, the journey is challenging, hills at 15 mph
A very nicely decorated interior and the storage solutions well thought out the main reason l watch these videos is l have an interest in Toyota Ute's and an interest in camper vans/mobile homes why l like Toyota Hilux Ute's by now you realise l live in Australia and l own a 1997 Toyota Hilux this camper van is huge gas everything you need also l am glad everything is original in the cab apart from the inside of the doors
Julie is one cool chic! Great Job on the renovations by the way. I suggest you start a youtube channel and help bring awareness to the crisis of mental illness in healthcare. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
Excellent Dolphin. Thank you. I have one very similar with a lot of work put into it as well (solar included). I am selling it and people want me to give it away not looking at the beautiful and costly work invested into it.
God said too love one another! John 13:34&35. Julie as an Army Veteran with mental health issues myself I pray that you cross paths with a lot of Veterans. I am Burdened by the amount of Veterans living on the street homeless! Your beautiful smile and kindness can help so many people. Love and God Bless All! Uncle Jeff!
Wow, a rarity. I had an 1978 tandem wheel (Dolphin remedy of a series lawsuits) Dolphin/Toyota. Really loved it and enjoyed the 19’. Not sure if1981 had a 22RE motor, mine had the carbed motor😢 $10,000 is not a bad deal, considering what you probably started with as compared to my old 1978. Really well done. Congratulations and pat yourself on the back 👍🏻
