God bless you Charlotte 🙏, any sane person find himself a chance to know Sudan 🇸🇩 emediatally he will love 💘 it, and feels comfortable in it, never even forget it .. ❤❤❤ !!
May God bless their souls. What an authentic footage. I never lived in my home country but watching this I felt a glimpse of the simple yet rich life my parents kept telling me about the 60s & 70s in Sudan. The quality and color are quite impressive! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Your Channel is a historical treasure! God bless. 🙏💜

Thank you for this magnificent documentary about our beloved country. There’s this unexplainable yearning and longing towards it wherever we go. Like migrating birds, we always yearn to come back to it.
I disagree with you there has been many changes in Sudan, Sudan became a rich country with many resources, Allah has given us everything bs Ahna ma kweesen wa da al hageega, when you have corrupt leaders and people who wait decades later to make a difference, you have people who would rather stay quiet and not speak or who would rather sleep throughout the whole process even when corruption is witnessed before their very eyes; then you get a corrupt country with corrupt leaders and corrupt people. Sudan destabilized and deteriorating economy is a variety of problematic issues if we don’t target each and everyone of those issues then we’re never going to solve our problems the real underlying problems that Sudan is suffering from today.
Although I wasn't born at that time, I found this video quite interesting as it tells the history without any interference, you could see people and hear them chatting so you can compare how things have changed through the 40 years.
I love watching your travel films Michael, this one stunned me as I could never envision such gushing river running through the desert country as Sudan...nice to see!
I just found your channel by chance. Sudan nowedays looks similar to more than 40 years ago. For me I cannot understand it. But great job, Michael. Thanks so much.
Oh my God Mr. Michael, what an amazing piece of history of my homeland, it hasn't changed much though. You've got to love the indiginous Beja of Suakin Island of Eastern Sudan, they are awesome, million thanks dear Michael.
That time i was one year old,, and i feel confused when watching this video many peaple in this video dead and now am 44 years old that mean mature man and nothing changed on my country since that time i gess i will dead without seen any change 😢😭
لكَ الله يا وطني 💔🇸🇩😢 بالمناسبه الجمل البيبحلق في 5:21 دا شكله جني😅 this Camel looks like it was possessed Translation : this is a historical treasure, we miss the old Sudan that was known for its simplicity, tolerance and development (compared to other nations that time). Can you believe many countries like the UAE & KSA also other Gulf countries were still like a desert that time? Bearly any paved streets, cars, or buildings. O God help Sudan😢
Oh my beautiful and beloved country, that time will never come again anymore 😢 was simple live , kindness, honesty and truthful. I wish I'd lived that time😢
Why does this time feel like yesterday, even tho I'm 22. I feel that they're time and life isn't that much different than now not to say that it hasn't progressed it has, but everyday talk, life etc feels the same
Ohh dear Sudan 🇸🇩.. I think Sudan is about one of very few nations that wishes its past is its future! 🤦♂️ No one would have thought that Sudan then would be Sudan now! the funny thing is it don’t lack anything..it has everything literally EVERYTHING. It don’t make sense that a country like Rwanda is now doing way far better than Sudan with little resources it has. However, the only way I think Sudan can move forward is to humble herself and Learn from others by reconciling with herself, recognise her beautiful mixed identity and level the ground for all her sons to contribute without favouritism or tribalism or Arabism. I know it’s easily said than done.
Good point - my only quibble with your characterisation is , you seem to skirt the meddling Sudan faced from foreign countries to distract its social harmony:
I visit the same , stayed with a Sudanese family in Khartoum north , just the most amazing people , the family name was Khogai , I know the elders brother was call Ali Khogai , who was a professor of medicine , he worked with the WHO , still trying to find anyone who would have know the family , beautiful people , God bless Sudan , inshallah all will be well there soon
I will never forget the days I was living in Sudan on 1972 how amazing it was, Unfortunately now isn't same, , Sudan is lost and damaged country, under poverty and politics crisis.. Sudan wish to be great again
This photography is in the present not in the past because in the past, Sudan was much more beautiful than now I mean we in Sudan are heading against development and technology.
