My son was a year old on our first DCL and it was great. I'd definitely recommend it to those with little ones and we also took advantage of the Small World Nursery for Palo
As soon as they can crawl and stand, it's game on. It doesn't get easier until 3-4 years old. You can't negotiate or reason with a 1 year old, which we also learned the hard way with last year. Better/easier trips ahead! ❤
Elaine convinced me. Gonna take a 8 month old on cruise ship 😅. Will use nursery, chefs baby food. Have to get up early at home might as well get up early in paradise.
This was great. Have lurked on a lot of boards and it sounds like cruising should be left until they are potty trained. Pools open up and all the basics are solved - no stroller, kids club opens up, can eat on their own, naps are easier, etc etc
The title of this episode should be "How NOT to travel with an infant on DCL- the Williams family edition". It's a shame no one OFFERED to puree veggies for you - surely the DCL people knew they could do that for you. Overpackibg is a first time parent problem for everyone. You don't need 95% of what you think you do.
This is the 2nd week trying to get through these episodes. PLEASE do a sound check before recording these. There is some terrible beeping making this unwatchable and I really wanted to 😢
Craig at least you were able to give your son protein! We had two Disney World trips where we ate at Royal Table, Be Our Guest Dinner, and other restaurants where our daughter would only eat grapes. For every meal.
Some of these issues I also had with my 6 year old! Fussy eater, waking up early and then being tired by dinner time. Wanting to the eat earlier than the first dining (so we'd get a snack and then he didn't eat his dinner!) and getting bored after 30 minutes! He also had the wiggles lol! He did not want to go to the kids club until the last day then didn't want to leave! He spent most of the day in the pools which was fine but it was a UK based cruise to nowhere and a bit chilly on deck! So I couldn't join him without getting frozen!!
I am aware. It's digital noise coming through the recording that I tried to scrub clean as much as possible, but it's a major downside of this style of recording.
@@DISUnlimited I stopped this so many times thinking my dog was snoring in some fantastical yet bizarre way. Thanks for your work, Craig. Next time you guys cruise, take Ryno for a built-in sitter.
Have to disagree. We have done four (and a fifth one planned) with our little one. His first was days after he turned 6 months. We had an amazing time (as evidenced by the fact that we continued to go on them). I find it a little crazy that this is supposed to be a channel that educates people on Disney but there was basically zero planning/investigation that went into taking an infant on a cruise. ANY vacation with a baby is going to require planning and forethought. I really hope this video doesn't deter people from taking their babies on a Disney cruise. It was absolutely worth it and it is likely the only way we will vacation with a baby/toddler. Disney does an amazing job catering to even their youngest guests. If you are taking a little one, do a smidge of research to understand what to expect and you will have an amazing cruise. Know your kid, do your research, and set your expectations.
Thanks for the info everyone! Currently 7 months pregnant and my husband is already trying to plan a cruise! Will definitely be inviting the grandparents 😂
Sorry about your trip we also went on a Disney cruise years ago and our youngest was 18months old would not recommend it for anyone with a child that age our older child had a blast but we didn’t our child screamed every time we went to a meal because after the first night she new she was trapped for a long time so we started eating one at a time I have to say the crew tried to entertain her but don’t go with a child that age
Cruising when it was the absolute best he just kind of stays there and does what I wanna do granted it don’t go to the bars late at night solo or go to palo everything else I feel he was not a burden to me at all… now that he can move is another story 👎🏻
