Love a good shout out to longchamp. I can’t get enough. I recently spilled an oil based liquid on mine and was so worried but the nylon just wipes clean and not a single mark or scent residue. They’re so light/worry free/chic looking. Plus if the destination is rainy my Longchamp is just perfect. I love your dust bag/sweater wrapping technique. So useful and love your videos - thank you! Happy travels!
The Longchamp expandable tote must be the best money I've ever spent! I fold it into a neat little square and pack it inside my carry on when I go to Europe, fill it with all my shopping, then check it in on the return. Yes, I check it in and it has not one scuff or scratch (I go to Europe 4-6 times a year). I simply wipe it down with a damp cloth when I get home and voila! Ready for the next trip.
Amie you always know what I want to see and you are the BEST in terms of making structured videos! I am so glad to see that the way I pack my bags is quite similar to yours, but what’s more exciting is that I still got a lot of inspiration from your video. So glad you did this topic and love u as always❤️
Top tip To protect bags from chains is to put on Velcro shoulder pads you buy to cushion baby’s shoulders in car seat. Get the colour to match your bag.
Wow! Very useful video. I wrap my bags in dust bags, but I put them in my check in luggage. I am learning that it is not a good idea. The Longchamp tote is very useful for traveling and carrying your luxury bags. Love your videos. Thanks for all the tips.
Amie, I just found your channel yesterday and I’m really enjoying it... also I think it’s lovely that you gifted a matching suitcase to your mother 👩🏻🍳
Thank you for the tips! I totally agree with you for the neverfull GM size versus the MM that's why I've sold my GM and just ordered the MM💕 would love to see what you pack in your neverfull when traveling and if you use an organizer for it or not❤️😊
really love this idea! not only introduce the bag and what's in it but introduce the occasion and the corresponding combination. next time, you can have something like the bags for a business trip, for vacations of summer.....
The longchamp to pack your bags is definitely a better idea than a hardshell small trolley because it happens often that the plain is so full that they will try to convince you to check in your little trolley afterwards.
Great video! Can the Longchamp be used as a carryon piece when it is expanded? Do you put it under your seat or in the overhead compartment? Would love a video dedicated to the uses of the Longchamp please.
I have the same Longchamp bag in black. I've always put it in the overhead compartment but I haven't tried it fully expanded. It's too big to put under the seat.
Travel is life and this helps a ton! I'm going on a much-needed vacation back to my husband's home country to visit the in-laws in Italy and cruise around. I plan to bring at least my Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM, a Dolce&Gabbana Sicily, & Alexander McQueen wallet-on-chain. I'm definitely with you on those types of must travel-with handbag pieces. Thumbs up! 🙏🏽🥰
How about for shoes? I hope you wrap it with shoe bag as well and not just pack them together with your clean clothes like the one in the picture. Sorry for my OCD, I cannot just pack any footwear naked without at least plastic bag. 🙈🙈🙈
omg this is literally what I need in my life right now! I was just searching for videos like this a couple of days ago and you've put out one omgggg loveyouuu
Great tips! I have the same longchamp because more often they ask to check in smaller suitcases because of how much the overhead compartments can fit. I have noticed that they never do this with hand held or backpacks. This case I always have my stuff with me.
Did you ever get in trouble with customs regarding this amount of luxury bags you carry with you? Do you have copies of the invoices saved on your phone to proof you owned them before? 🤔
Interesting video. I too fill my bags and place in a dust bag and then wrap them well in Tshirts. I'm careful as what bags I carry away from home. I get scared one may come up missing.😵 Love your pieces of luggage. TFS💕
I agree- the celine nano is the perfect travel bag and the strap is super comfortable. I also like to stack my bags in rder to protect them and save space. The expandable tote has been discontinued by longchamp so hopefully everyone that is after them can still get them at Nordstrom!
I too carry a few personal bags with me (for different purposes) in any trip and have never packed them in checked luggages. I think I hit all the advices that you shared. Great minds think alike :-)
Great video, I think I will purchase the longchamp now for my travel bags. Question, where did you purchase the gold chain you added onto to your crossbody?
Another great and useful video! Amie, you are Always to informative and stylish! I can only learn from you! Beautiful person inside and outside! Great tips indeed! ciao cara
How if you buy new bags while you’re traveling?? How do you carry them back home?? For me, I love to have the box and packaging so that it’s still have a good price when I resell it, but it’s so inconvenient to pack back home especially when it’s more than 2 pieces. Do you have good tips for that?
Johanna Utari I stack the boxes then I’d stack my bags up to the largest size that fits into the smallest box. I’d put the boxes in one hand carry suitcase and the other handbags in another hand carry suitcase. also, I prefer to wear the most expensive new bag I buy with me on the plane because 1) customs are more likely to want to see that bag and 2) suitcases are more likely to be stolen compared to a bag that is being worn close to you.
Ps I’ve never really thought about resell value that way! It’s really thoughtful. I only put up with those bulky boxes because I love how pretty they look 😅
Finally the video that a lot of us have been waiting for :) thank you so much for the useful tips Amie :) I just have a question regarding packaging - how do you store the packaging when you buy a bag abroad (e.g.the box)? do you fold it somehow or do you throw it away? I am going on a trip to paris next month to buy my first luxury bag and I would really like to be able to keep the packaging as well, but I am not sure how to do it. any tips would be appreciated :)
addieblue my suggestion is you use it already, because there are instances when they check the bag when you claim for tax refunds. Last January, I placed in my check in luggage the LV bag I bought in SG and when I tried claiming my tax refund they looked for it and sadly was not able to claim. Almost all boxes can be folded so you can store it in your luggage but use the bag☺️ hope I was able to help
May I suggest you try a microphone while filming? Like a shotgun mic or a lapel mic. The echo makes it so I have to turn up the volume really loud to understand you over the echo. I know I could turn on captions. Love your content! Stay lovely!
Just this week I had a friend have to check their carry on at the gate. The bag got caught in the wheel well of the plane and dragged. The bag and everything in it was absolutely destroyed. I will never again put anything I value into a suitcase. I’ll only carry one or two bags, in my tote/personal item.
Omg!!! I'm going to paris in November and plan on buying my first chanel purse. I was planning on putting the Chanel purse in my carry on suitcase and putting it in the overhead bin. My biggest fear is that the airplane will say that I have to check the carry on. I'm so scared of my chanel purse getting stolen or something if I have to check the carry on. Or destroyed. Any tips? Maybe I should buy a big Fjallraven Kanken bookbag, stick the Chanel purse in it and say it's my personal item purse and put it under the seat. Any advice?
Hi Amie. Very helpful video.Thank you. I was just wondering, where do you keep your bags once you get to the hotel? I would be scared that someone could take them.
I have the same Longchamp tote expandable travel bag, but I find it hard to locate my stuff in this spacious bag. Do u face this issue too, and how do u organize your stuff in this travel bag?
Heya! Ardent fan. Keep posting. Quick question: Do you reckon I should buy Gucci Marmont Velvet Small in Rubin? I find the colour quite attractive, but I'm confused about its wear. Really value your opinion. Look forward to hearing from you, Thanks, A
I would never put my designer bags in a Longchamps bag. The bag would go into the overhead and other people will cram whatever in the space, crushing them . (Or that has been my experience.) I don't want to put it under the seat in front of me since I fly economy and need every bit of leg room for my legs. When traveling, I put my bags into my Lipault roller bag.which has a rigid frame and is patent leather, so a bit squishy.
I bought my Givenchy Antigona (small) in NYC & brought it back home to Cali by putting it in it's dust bag and into a regular canvas tote next to my feet. I took some of the original stuffing out and added my own items to save space. Some items even inside the tote as well, strategically placed. I only carried a clutch in NY because I knew I was buying a handbag. You could do this with any other tote by your feet or pack a tote into your luggage if you don't need it on the way there
It’s not too big for a carry on. I have one on black and I used it expanded many times to carry a nursing pillow on the plane, no problem on any airlines.
Thanks Amy I’m surprised that you prefer the soft Longchamp over a hard case. What are the weight restrictions for your carry on? I’m in Australia and many of our domestic airlines limit total carry on luggage weight to 7kg (including your handbag!), so the Lonchamp option is a good one. I always find my fave European RU-vidrs carry a lot more than that and multiple pieces.
Ah well there's a good reason for that. Budget airlines are a popular way of travelling around Europe and they have no weight restrictions for hand luggage and charge *a lot* for checked in baggage. So everyone who lives in Europe has essentially been trained to pack everything into hand luggage and to try and cram as much in as possible haha! For long haul, again no weight restrictions and you can usually bring on a piece of hand luggage and a handbag (and most won't say anything about a small cross body either) :)
Hi amie. When u travel with your neverfull mm bag, where do u place in the plane? Under the front seat or overhead cabin?. Altho I don’t carry a big bag or totes on the plane. I jus bring a small sling bag and I have to place it under the seat in front. I’ll always put my bag in another plastic bag and place it on the floor 😃 I’m jus paranoid of the germs
Do you put your Longchamp in the over head bin or underneath the seat? I''m afraid if someone put their hard luggage in the overhead, it might dent your bag. People usually shove their luggage in the bins.
I pack my luxury bags in my checked luggage all the time 😂😂😂😂 secret is to put stickers all over your checked bags. They will think it’s children luggage so they won’t even bother. Fingers crossed I didn’t just jinx my luck
Do you also bring the receipts of each designer handbag you bring overseas? Just in case TSA questions you about why you're bringing so many bags. I always get worried I might bring too many so I end up bringing only three.
I don't know much about London passes but I know that Oyster is what Londoners use themselves which makes me think it'll be the most affordable. You can also buy a pass on your Oyster if you're here for a set amount of time and are planning on travelling lots :)
