Sorry I'm a bit late but thank you so much for this vlog 💙 Back in September, I got the tickets through their app (MAV) which was almost 60% cheaper than Trainline. In Bratislava, I also stayed 3 nights at the same place which was amazing for what I paid for. Thanks for making my trip much easier cheers 😊

Really great vlog! Just to add something... IDS BK is actually the official app for Bratislava region transport system, and the ticket you get from the app is available for trams and buses. Apart from buying tickets from this app, using those ticket selling machines is a great option as well. Just to remember to stamp your ticket while boarding and you're good to go! 👍

Hey! Thanks so much! We booked online, but I’m sure you can book on the app just as easy. I think the closer to the date you book the slightly more expensive it can be. It can get quite busy too depending the time and season. Sooner the better we recommend 😊 enjoy!!

Hey! We were expecting the same but we didn’t have to do anything, no stamps and no passport checks either! It was basically like getting a train in the UK

Just one remark, the map depicting your train travel to Bratislava is flawed...You are actually crossing the border at Szob, north of Budapest and not at Komarno as on the map...Otherwise excellent vlog

It's only 2hr30min journey and that's a pretty average price in the region. Railway companies in these countries are state-owned so they set/regulate the price. You can get pretty much anywhere in Slovakia, Czechia, Austria etc. by train and it is very reasonably priced :) There are also some private companies like RegioJet, Leo Express

One thing you did not do is have a meal and drink on the train. Most of those EC trains between Budapest and Bratislava (- Prague) are equipped with a restaurant car which serves good meals and drink / beer and often draught Pilsner Urquell!!
