Hello, You only need Transit Visa if your Flight will be making a stop at an European Country before arriving the UK. For EU countries you'll get a Schengen Visa but it's only going to be Valid for 1 week. It takes less than 3 days to process.
Well, sincerely it's not needed if you ain't leaving the Airport and boarding the next flight in the next few hours. However the issue is that at the Airport in Nigeria you'll or might not be allowed to board the flight because they'll say you do not have a Transit Visa so it's just best you get it and avoid all that brouhaha. Also if you want to spend some days in another country with it you can then catch your connecting flight. With that you've used it and it will be stamped.
@@innocentonyedi another question please. Are there forms you filled at airport in Nigeria before leaving? Also when you got to schiphol, did you fill any form before transfer to your UK flight
@@MsIjay88 The only form you fill at the Nigerian Airport is Immigration Form which they'll use to stamp your Passport. At Schipol I didn't fill any form.
@@martinbobo7429 I didn't submit Bank Statement because I already had my Admission Letter, Visa & flight details. If you want to you can but it's not necessary since it's a transit Visa.
Basically Transit visit is needed is your flight will have to stop at another country before arriving at its final destination. For most European countries one will need a transit Visa.
