This is the best video I have ever made and yet it has so few views! 😵💫 PLEASE SHARE IT SO IT GETS THE LOVE IT DESERVES. THE ENERGY OF IKARIA IS UNLIKE ANYTHING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! 💙
I wish I had a lifestyle where I was surrounded with people. I just work at home and then relax at home. Nutrition and fitness wise I’m healthy but probably don’t have the ideal social bonds. We have to drive everywhere to see people and the main form of entertainment involves spending money.
Scenes are beautiful, content really intersting and inspiring, without your actual thoughts and your perception, it wouldn't be that glorious! This was such a refreshment on your channel. Even I am not such a travel lover, I loved this 🧡
Georgeous, fun and fascinating!! I bought Blue Zones but haven't started it yet - I wonder how many zones are near the ocean, it seems to me the proximity of water, the fresh salty air, the soothing sounds, the beautiful views, is enough in and of itself to add 10 years. 😍
Most of them are coastal communities. As someone who has moved from the city to the coast, I totally understand this link! Life just is better with fresh coastal views and air. 💙
This is such a beautiful and heartfelt presentation. You are yourself also such an eye candy and so spirited. It gave me a beautiful reminder that I want to return to my greek islands. Thank you so much.
I'm impressed that they gave me their time and were so EASY to interview. I didn't really get much more footage than what you see of the interviews in this video. Everyone I spoke to had so much clarity and were so succinct in their thoughts/message. 💙
That was spectacular. What an amazing place & lifestyle ❤ you looked in your element !!!! Thanks so much that was really interesting & the food looks so good 😋
When I went to Greece in my early 20s, I found the people to be incredibly kind. Looking back, I question it, like were those people really that nice or was I nearly trafficked? The 2 guys I was traveling with and I got on a bus and had no clue what we were doing or how to get to our hostel. Two young women and a middle-aged man took it upon themselves to call a cab to meet us and take us to our hostel, made sure we got in the cab, and were on our way to the right place. People in general were just very nice in Greece. Plus I got the tastiest fresh figs from a street vendor lol
Beautiful vlog Patricia, thank you for sharing. Love the food, architecture, people, lifestyle, all so calming and in the moment. I need a Ikaria recipe book now ❤️
Community is the core of the blue zones. Also, eating nonprocessed clean whole foods helps as well. We are lacking these things in the US (or perhaps just being persuaded to be against one another and tempted by things like fast food and prepackaged "food.")
Yeah also in sicily you take a nap around 4pm ..(a pisolino😄)..because after the hot midsun and an abundance meal you CRASH😆..it is just too hot..and the humidity gives you the rest. Then when you wake up you get ready and go for an apperitivo..or dinner..after that you have walks or a granita until 1-3am😊 I had to get used to it..
This is a lovely video, it’s so important to relax and recharge, it’s so cool that you got to experience this magical place. I would love to hear what your thoughts are on how to incorporate some of these blue zone ideas into western life. I would love to nap every afternoon, unfortunately/fortunately I’m at work, and this kind of schedule doesn’t mesh into most peoples nine to five lives.
I just posted a short about it! But perhaps that's an idea for a future longform video too. Even a short 20 minute nap after work would be good for your evening. 💙
Loved every moment of this video. Possibly my favourite. I felt the joy and the peace. Planning on sending my fiancé to learn to cook Ikarian food. 💙🙏🏻
An amazing place to visit - gorgeous and calming atmosphere. Patricia I haven't watched your videos for a couple of years because of my own circumstances - but I have to say, you look amazing. Refreshed, - very healthy and happy. So whatever changes you've made in your life, it's been very beneficial for you. I'm on board again to watch your videos.
You did a faceyoga workshop with Maria Pampoukidou! This is amazing. I know her from Fumiko Takashu's Face Yoga Method. She works with her togehter. How did you like her faceyoga retreat on Ikaria and how did you find her? In the internet or on Ikaria?
Of course it helps to be born with Greek genes. I had a Greek friend growing up. His dad would not lock up the Ouzo knowing it tasted so nasty we would not even taste it. Living slow is a good idea. I have the nap thing down that is for sure. Tired, i am in bed by 8:30, but i get up at 3-4. Thanks.
Ikaria is one of the more remote islands and it doesn't have huge crowds like the other islands. The Greek government hasn't invested a huge amount into making it a 'destination'. It's a glorious place. 💙
It's the radioactive elements in the ground, the food and the quality of the weed plus the no stress attitude. The more far reaching question I have is why live to 100? What haven't you done, tried, achieved until you were 60? After 70 it's just bedwetting and being a burden on someone else. Die, come back to earth and start again. If you're lucky you'll be born Greek or Ikarian!
