We like your honesty re: you not speaking the language being the issue, and it is so important for us foreigners to try to learn as much Bulgarian as we can so we can be more self sufficient and integrated, but it is sooo difficult!
In Bulgaria, you can also choose a birth team, procedures, hospital, English-speaking obstetrician, and everything else. You just have to do it in a modern private hospital, and pay for it.
Completely understand the reasons why you decided to have baby in the uk, it's much easier when you are in your home country and native tongue. We had Max in the uk 2 years ago for the same reasons as I also only received very basic care here. Gynae was lovely but only offered a very basic scan every month no other testing etc, which I didn't mind but I'd imagine if it's your first pregnancy this can be quite daunting. We would of had to travel a lot further for all the care which we didn't want to do. You guys made the right decision :) are you guys heading back to bg soon?
Sounds like a very similar situation to how we had it, thanks for sharing your experience with us, its nice to know we aren't the only ones who felt a little lost with the health care system. We're hoping to visit back and forth until we have an established passive income stream to live out there permanently again 🙂
This is the most stupid couple I have seen. The 6.8 mln Bulgarians survived in this country.I have followed every single video from the beginning of stay in Bulgaria.
