Lee, this would have to be one of your best videos. I loved hearing some of your Dad's stories. You are very lucky that you still have him in your life...I wish my Father was still here 🙏. Keep up the great work. Life is beautiful, especially in a Porsche 😉. Take care, Paul from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks Paul. It's certainly my most cherished video on the channel, without a doubt. I hope you have some great memories to look back on with your dad, too.
What a fantastic trip. Something to look back on when that sad day comes and Dad departs to that great Porsche Factory in the sky. Great to see someone actually using their Porsche for its intended purpose too. I'm sure Ferry Porsche is looking down and smiling on you both. Cheers
Yep, great to share a road trip father with son. Something I have experienced with great satisfaction many a time. Your excursion to Norway with friends / 6 other Porsches and a Yaris (if I got this right) seems to have been an epic moment. And to top this unforgettable journey, the snoring sessions, without which surely this whole adventure wouldn’t have been half of what is was 😅👍
I have been savoring this episode and what a magnificent episode it was. Would very much like to do such a trip with my dad one day. Fathers are awesome❤ Hope to be able to meet up one day on a future trip of yours to Norway. Next time, maybe come up north of the Arctic Circle and join us at the Arctic Circle Raceway and then traveling to the magnificent Lofoten archipelago🤩
'And what did you used to say..... Lend me such and such!'..😂😂😂. Great video Lee and a wonderful trip to take with your dad. Thanks for all the great content, keep it up.
Hey Fred, thanks for the comment, indeed these are memories to treasure. Nobody is promised tomorrow so time spent with family and friends is never time wasted.
What great memories you will have of this trip. What is evident is that these 'old' 996's are more than capable of what they were built for, twisty roads requiring agile handling. The newer 911's, while undoubtedly more refined, can't possibly be as engaging.
Always wanted a porsche 911. My budget would go to a 996, but I'm worried about upkeep or reliability, especially with bore score or the ims but still looking
This is fabulous! Back in 2001 my Dad bought his dream car an 88 911 Carerra he shared that with me for 16 years before getting a Golf R DSG as it was easier in his advancing years! We loved that car and so many happy memories. Fathers and sons, share those car experiences. Lee I share your pain as he snored like a chainsaw through 3 days at Goodwood Revival and 1 night at Castle Coombe! I'm now working hard to get a 997 to share with my son!
Great trip buddy! Just watched your video and became even more desparate for an upcoming trip to Nurburgring with my dad in my base 987 boxster. Very interested to talk about anything that porsche is producing and has produced in general, they are truly special cars that hold time of their own. My journey has bagan from a 986 S and I am privileged to have a porsche specialist who is also my friend who looked after my cars.
Lee… I’m 2 minutes in, luv it already. This video is the equivalent of a family Sunday roast…. In a good way lol. Shame there’s not an East Coast fellowship - we need road-trips too…
Hi Lee, great video and thanks for sharing. Just wanted to ask what alloy wheels do you have on little Irish? I’m thinking of getting similar for mine. Cheers
Lee, I just wanted to say I absolutely loved the video it was heartwarming to see one of the best guys I’ve ever worked with having the time of his life with his son. It was a joy to watch thanks for the video guys it made my day 👍👍
@@9WERKSTV I know someone who is making the trip with his young son. Could you recommend an hotel reasonably near the museum please? Thank you in advance. David
👏👏👏👏👏 What a fantastic video. Absolutely fantastic. Such a special thing to do 👌 I've taken my son on three road trips in my VW Splitscreen bus to Spa Francorchamps circuit when he was between the ages of 10 and 15, he's now 19 and we are planning a couple of road trips in my 997. What an inspiration this video has been. Thank you 👌
Thank you for this one Lee. I was excited to watch and it did not disappoint! A smorgasbord of Porsche cars and human experiences which I am sure will stay with you for a lifetime.
Norway is my traveling place for years . Also in my older 911. It's a dream to drive , especially in good conditions ... Also nice to see the hospitality of Porsche Gelderland & the collection in Belgium. And by the way , the sleeping part with your father is hilarious .
Glad you enjoyed, Steven. Clearly you know what Norway is all about, so I can fully imagine you have great fun on those roads in an older 911. Perfection.
Cracking trip and Video with your Dad.... I laughed so hard at the snoring... my Dad used to snore like that... the two of them would put an old Grizzly to shame! I'm popping over for a cheeky visit to Norway this summer ( you and Harry are great inspiration!).... the first three days will mirror your journey up... thanks for the idea of stopping off at the Porsche Garage... Keep the road trips content coming!
Lee, this took me right back to my 996 Norway trip! And you doing it as a father and son trip made me think I've got to do the the same, but the other way round - a bit of father and son time on a similar trip with my son Tom. A great video as usual - well done Lee.
Great video really enjoyed that. Listening to that sound makes me think you have swapped the motor out for a roaring v8. 😅 your dad is an excellent good sport ❤
Oh I would love to do same with my dad... you are blessed having a dad being a petrolhead, too. You are both so nice dudes, this content is really appreciated! Can only like once unfortunately.
As always, another great video Lee. Stunning scenery and brilliant stop-offs along the way. Your dad's an absolute legend and great company. Are you going to give him a regular slot, as his insights are so funny?
