We, DH, just concluded a successful jaunt in the USA-our first proper tour since the pandemic (and none of us got sick, woo!)-and are off to Europe, to perform ‘Deliver Us’ in its entirety. The album turned 15 years old this month. It took a significant amount of prep-work on my end to bring this to life, as I was only familiar with four (out of eleven) of the tunes, but damn-what a record!
Speaking of Europe, my cymbals are on vacation there sorely (probably not, but definitely sore) awaiting my arrival. Consequently, I utilized an array of pies that I tend to use for sessions/solo material. I also purchased three new microphones, another inducement for this video: 4099 x2 (tom-toms), 4055 (kick), all DPA. I can’t say enough flattering things about these mikes. They’ve retained the former aural characteristics, yet have added a smoother top-end and a cleaner signal overall. Highly recommended!
