Travis, I've been drumming for 12yrs and I wanted to quit at times for not being able to deliver the beats I imagine with my head. Seeing the joy you display endures my pain and gives me strength to be better every day. Thanks for inspiring us! -Rick
I am surprised I havn't come across you before after years of watching far too many of the numerous inspiring drummers who are kind enough to post their videos for everyone to enjoy. I absolutely love your style, you pick off horribly tricky playing with such ease and fluidity. All of your pieces sound fantastic, I am so impressed by the whole lot. Diverse, technically stunning, just fantastic! Keep it up
Cyclamen is full of so many "moments of perfect music"... Please, please, please... a record... just one little record... with you playing the drums I mean...
Dear shaftninja, Amazing playing, as always! I've watched a lot of your videos, but this one made me laugh a little bit.... Your china has a living spirit in it! He moves left and right several times! ;) Regardless of how many takes you had, the final product here is simply amazing. Keep playing so others, including me, having something to aspire towards!
incredible, you really are one of the most impressive 'new' guys around. Is your incredible independence and the way of your kit is mounted a Mike Mangini influence? I mean, how much is he a influence on your techniques and style of play?
First of all this is absolutely amazing. Second of all in the pause at the end is that a quote from the end of the human centipede before the japanese guy kills himself?
Hello! I looked almost quite are you videos and I am a fan of that you made and the sound that have you drums makes with microphones. A slaughter! Otherwise your drums and indeed Tama Superstar? And if you could say to me the music group that you jous his shall be really nice. ( To sadden for my English i am French and I have a hard time one can ) Bye !
Be carefull, that you don't hurt your back when doing fills like 4:39 ;). Such fast movement! That's Dangerous! hehe :P But srsly I allways wonder how you do your fills over those desperately far seperated toms, with such speed and cleanliness (wow what bad grammar ^^) Greetz & best wishes! Travis, you are just awesome!
I've always thought it was so crazy how hi your fulcrum is on your stick sometimes man. My comfort point tends to be towards the end of the stick, simply because I feel like I get more power that way. I have tried using longer and heavier sticks (currently implementing 16 3/4" oak 5b sticks) but still can't break that habit; assuming it is a bad one. I'm not sure, I guess I need more work on my technique, hehe.
1:17 . that was weird, from looking at your cymbels i can see you eddited that cuz they are moving , but it dosent look like you were mooved. a miracle? :D
