Glad to see you weathered Ian OK. So glad you and your Mom & Dad and girlfriend are helping you out with the work. For the bright work topsides, you may want to use CETROL. It is very durable and easy to apply. Put on multiple coats for long last results. It comes as a stain and clear coats. Glad you changed the blue to white. It does look so much brighter and clean. I'd keep the window in the aft cabin so it is always bright. So happy you made repairs to the stuffing box and will make pemanent repairs during haul out along with addressing all the through hull valves and fittings. Be sure to install lots of outlets for the aft cabin to power up all your electronic stuff. You may want to change over to dim-able strip LED lighting too. You are an inspiration to us all. Keep it up!
Looking good Making progress. I recommend you put the window back in I had my windows sealed shut by previous owners it was a hot box in the warm weather and promoted mold I unsealed the windows and now get cross ventilation It really makes the boat much more comfortable. Thanks for sharing Keep up the good work 👏
You're coming right along! You and Dad did a bang up job in the aft cabing. Looking a whole lot better. The top bridge is looking so much better thanks to Mom and your girlfriend.
First time I seen your video I think that boat is going to look good when you're finished no matter what you decide to do to it and go with how you wanted to look don't listen to other people telling you what to do to your boat you know how you want the boat keep up the good work
Moving right along! Making good progress. I know it will be more work, but I think you'd be happier with the aft cabin, port side, window in place. Besides the additional light back there, being able to see out the aft cabin on the port side, without leaving the cabin would be nicer.
You may want to consider removing the glass windows in the aft cabin all together, inserting wood plugs and once those are glassed in, cutting openings for the biggest portlights you can find. The cross ventilation will come in handy because that air conditioner is problematical and draws a lot of power. They also have screens to keep out the bugs. All of those Taiwanese boats had rot in the cabin structure because over time, fiberglass eventually delaminates. The new epoxies are better.
What size of bed do you intend to install? Make sure that you leave access to the rudder mechanism in case it should fail. I couldn't see well enough, do you have hydraulic or cables that control your rudder? You should consider doing some maintenance on that system while that is all open. And plan a large access panel too. I just stumbled onto your channel so it looks like you will be this winter working on your boat. I hope you intend to have a heater in works. Btw where are you located? Well if you have any questions just ask. I have had several and would be glad to give advice if you need some. I gave you a thumbs up and subscribed. I am very interested in your project. Thanks. Have fun and be safe. 🚤
I have a foam full mattress I’m going to cut to size of the frame that we made. Not sure exactly what size it correlates to. I’ll cut a little door to access the aft cabin side of the rudder bracket at some point. Thanks for the support!
You have a nice boat and a nice project. I wished I could be there to help you. You really should learn the language. There are no walls on ships or boats they're called bulkheads. Ceilings are referred to as the overhead. You might want to consider using pressure treated wood in some of those areas.Good luck to you.
Have you considered using pressure treated wood, coated in sealer (Thompson's water seal or something like that) to keep water from getting into and rotting the wood?
If it were my boat and we used to have one of those back in the late we had Marine trader... But I think you'd like it better if you put a bench seat up in the front with a walk through that way when you're driving up in your upper helm the people can sit right next to you. And you always want to put plenty of drink holders!!!
