I think that your gut told you the answer about moving jewellery styling that's dated but appreciated the opal itself. Opal is queen of all gems and it's beauty is everything that any coloured stone is and more. I would love to see more opal introduced to into some of your designs. I'm looking forward to seeing the two rings made from the two purchased. When filming your opal use a lower light as glare can missrepresent the visual and make the opal look white or colourless. Or use a dark black background that is matt no sheen and cool white light to show it best. An incandescent light will show more colours. Different lights highlight different colours. I'm sure a lot of people can't see the opal properly and would "love to" some may be surprised at depth and brightness especially those that have never seen an opal in hand. Not one opal is ever the same and this is a special phenomenon and unique to those that own them. A party 🎉 in a stone. Cheers 😊 hope this helps.

Imagine a gold Celtic cross or Trinity symbol “iced out” with nothing but emeralds - seems like something Connor McGregor or House of Pain would rock, but I still would love to see that. I also associate lots of different gems in a medieval-style crown - I wonder if something like that could be a thing, like medieval style jewelry with chunky settings and multiple different gems. Who knows.

That welo opal he bought was trash. I would have handed that trash right back and the dude with the white opals with almost no color was a putz as well. This dude is gifted and highly skilled with diamonds and jewlery but he needs a dedicated team for opal if he wants to start down that route. I could source black opal parcels for him cut and uncut and bring in huge money.

Definitely expand into Australian and Mexican opal. Definitely worth it. Ethiopian -Welo not worth the headache. How are you going to set those crystal opals? A decorative semi open back bezel setting inlayed with rose gold. The bezel would provide the needed protection for the opal and multi colored sapphires would bring out the colors in the opal. Ranging from 1.4 - 2.0 randomly flush mount the round sapphires along the shank of the ring.

All jewelry has a history and story. Who owned, made, commissioned, wore it etc. If the seller can't articulate the ownership, history or artistry behind the piece, then it is more than likely under sold at wholesale or even melt value if it is undesirable. Location is important as well.

The opals look like a lot of the dark colored are doublets or triplets. The lighter ones look more like Ethiopian opals not Australian opals. Boulder opals are not normally light in color either.

Garbage opal, some were fake others doublets/triplets. Get you opal from lightning ridge, andamooka, coober peady, and koroit. Never parcels from some downtown putz. Get an aussie to work with you and you can make tons of money with the capital you have. Dude hire me as a consultant for stones, I have 20 years experince. Opal, saphire, iolite/dichroite(rainbow iolite) and beryl are what I work with.
