You can control all the lights by using the Bluetooth module. All function are there. You should also show the turn signal, hazard and daylight running mode
Cool. You can use the kit on a separate channel using a an aux switch. Should come with rock lights at that price point… and channel option. Otherwise looks good on the bronco!
If you want a more scale driving experience on these trx4 and the brake lights to actually work try setting your throttle trim to like 0.1% forward so your vehicle doesnt move forward but will coast a little if you let off at speed. That way you can use your brakes to slow down instead of it coming to a halt immediately without brakes
I love this kit. I have the rock lights and a small light bar I recessed into the front bumper. I haven't tried any non-Traxxas lights, I have some , I will try them out!!!!👍👍👍👍
I just wish Traxxas had done their homework with the Defender one! Orange indicators at the front in the wrong place, and they shouldn't illuminate permanently either.... do you know if the main light boxes can be linked up to normal LEDs? Then I would mod my own... Thank you Francis :)
I’ve had the module for months now I just need the lights so I guess you can say I have half the kit but basically have the brain or controller. So thanks for jump staring me to get the LIGHTS! Where did you get the sliders & fender deletes? I have the same kind on my SCX JLU. Looking good I like the clear windows I have the blue Bronco & it’s dark on dark clear windows would look better in my opinion.
@@chuckbareika5478 If I have the Bluetooth module, I can turn the ‘turn signal’ feature …off is that correct? Because everyone hates the guy who hits his signal after he starts to turn ‘cause we all know he’s just doing it to cover his ass in case of an accident.
The light system is really awesome. I had it installed few months ago. Later when I got my hobbywing fusion pro, I was concerned that this may impact the functionality of the light system, which my 3 year old really loves. But I figured that the motor sense wire isn't really required if I am using the stock receiver with built in link module. All the light functions still work for me without the motor sense wire. I am truly relieved because I love the fusion pro! I think the motor sense wire may be more important if not using stock receiver but otherwise it seems to be taking all signals from receiver itself and motor sense seems redundant to me. Any by the way, I also have a savvox high torque servo that I have connected and powered to 7.4volts using direct lipo connection using a castle bec and also a bypass adapter. I truely love it and more importantly it is such a nice experience I could customize to this extent 🙂. This is the best part of our RC hobby
Do your headlights dim down when you’re in reverse? For whatever reason my headlights dim down quite a bit when I use reverse…. I’m using a hw1080 powering the light kit through direct power tap (like Francis describes) using the max link cable and motor wire it still acts…. Odd 🤔
@@V8chump I don't see any such issue in my case. I have used a castle BEC 2.0 since I wanted to put 7.4 volts into the servo - this was probably not necessary but I just felt I should get the maximum out of my 100$ servo upgrade😉. Since I now have a BEC supplying 7.4v, I just used it to power the pro scale light too and it just works fine. I know it may be too much for some but once you get it right it would be fun and therapeutic to achieve this..at least for a relative beginner like me🙂. If you decide to go with an external BEC for your servi you just have to be careful to either use a bypass adapter or disconnect the red wire from servo to receiver. There are some decent videos around this including one by Holmes hobbies.
@@laxm8162 the headlights dim when the brake lights come on actually. Can’t figure out why… even went back to the stock xl-5 setup and they’re still dimming when reverse lights come on so it’s surely not because of the way they’re being powered, and it’s only the headlights than dim, not the tail lights 🤔
I am also interested in installing this light kit on my trx4. And I intend to replace the motor with HW fusion pro. How exactly do you get this system to work with the fusion pro?
Personally, I like the Bronco RC car's LED kit. However, in Korea, the exchange rate is too high, so I have to buy it at a much higher price than before, so that seems to be a big drawback. Other than that, it's a really good LED kit.👍👍👍
@@Webb.155do the reverse lights turn off as soon as you give it any gas whatsoever? I’m running the traxxas light kit with my hw 1080 and it needs me to give it 1/4 throttle before the reverse lights go off 🤔 kinda annoying when I reverse then crawl with barely any throttle…..so my reverse lights are just on for 5 minutes…..while I’m going forwards 🤣. It’s not because I’m using only fwd/rev either, hooked the XL-5 back up and it worked perfectly
Francis how did you get the reverse lights to work correctly with the HW1080? Whenever I go in reverse the white reverse lights stay on until I give it about 1/3 throttle… I believe they’re supposed to turn off immediately after you give it throttle (possibly even hen you let off reverse?) I believe you mention a specific wire, maybe that’s why? could you give a part number or link? (I’m still using traxxas receiver) TRA6594 is supposedly a part coming soon that will make our reverse lights and brake lights work just as if we had the stock system
Yep just tested it today. Everything else works fine but the brake lights and reverse lights are a little outta wack, if I plug in my XL-5 the reverse lights go off when you give it even the slightest bit of gas. It’s not being caused by fwd/rev either because it tried fwd/brk/rev and my reverse lights stay on until 1/4-1/3 throttle (forwards)…. There’s a fabled “receiver communication cable” mentioned in the manual that could fix this but it’s not sold on its own? Only in older light kits? It’s supposed to plug into the receiver then you plug your esc into into the “receiver communication cable” so the light kit gets signal directly from your esc, which it doesn’t with the 1080 esc as it is
If anyone wants this kit or has this kit, do yourself a favor and get the Bluetooth module for the remote. Then you can control everything shown in this video on your phone.
My only complaint is that you can’t run the “parking lights” … you can tell they could when in the flashers mode, but orange parking lights with the fogs would be amazing.
@@JoeOvercoat thinking a rgb lightbar would help this for sure and im thinking im going to end up getting all of it😂😂 including the rock lights but im hoping i can find a good amber light bar because led in snow does not work 😂
@@me-rn7jx RGB LEDs are very cool…curious to see the red&green combo of any one light bar. I wear yellow safety glasses at night because I’m usually walking in the woods, which has an eye risk anyhow, so it works out. But the blue light typical of LEDs is very flat where we really do need yellow light, especially in the snow and I ought to know… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WdCqzTIAggA.html
Are you running the ESC at 6 volts or 7.4? ( Any issues with the mini servos or the lights at 7.4 if that is what you are running then at) Thank you for taking the time to answer the question
Well this convinced me that this should be my next purchase. I was worried Link would be needed to run it but since it has buttons independent on the car I can do some night crawling finally
@@LuisA1Million it is indeed! I know it’s the only way to have daytime running lights with tail lights, instead of only having them light up on the brakes and reverse
Yes it fits all Trx models. You have to use the Traxxas lights though and purchase a mounting kit for the old Bronco body. 8032 is the mount and 8036 is the lights that work with the kit. Unfortunately they don't have a complete set up out of the box specific for the old Bronco. You have to get 6591 for the controller and distribution block. I'm currently installing the set up in my Bronco. I have the 2021 as well and I was very impressed with it. Very nice stuff if you want plug and play no drilling install. Plus there's a large amount of additional ports to plug in accessory lights. You might have to change the terminal ends on non Traxxas lights? I haven't gotten that far yet but I do have the tools to do it.
