I really enjoy these Sledge videos and everything you are doing really. I don’t see how you keep up with all the parts and stuff you have for different vehicles. I have 6 RC’s myself and it’s hard for me to keep up with mine so I can’t imagine how it is with all yours.

Honestly Earl 800+tax for the sledge + cooling fan + Bluetooth module puts this rig well over 1000 dollars 🤔 I really don’t see the value in that i mean we’re talking the same price as the Xmaxx ! I’m gonna have to stick with the kraton. To me Traxxas just continues to price there vehicles way above the what there actually worth. I thought the fireteam was priced to high but the price of this for what ur getting just is flat out not worth it!!! The only thing Traxxas did to this that made it original is the new body system and that sure doesn’t justify the price at least im my honest opinion. But great video as always brother I definitely appreciate all you bring to the table. You most definitely have the best rc channel here on RU-vid!!!!!!!!
But my ExB has $1200.00 before I could run it new 😳sledge doesn’t need a fan or module to run as I showed stock it’s a beast and doesn’t break arms or wing mount or even crack differential cases 🤷🏻♂️ sledge for the 880.00 price is perfect stock 👍👍
Yea Traxxas needs to let us get into the damn ESC settings Earl for that money I expect that or sell me a roller and I'll put in a castle that can haha
Good vid! My Slash 4x4 Ultimate came with the Link Module already installed in the Tx. IMO Yes, it's def worth the extra $ if your Traxxas RC didn't come with it. I use it every time I run to monitor motor temps and battery level. Plus it's got a lot of great features too that come in really handy on the fly.
Also be sure to make a profile on the app and then each time you make a change to the tuning be sure that you save it to the profile or else next time you run it it will revert back to the previous settings. I run the Traxxas VXL-3 ESC fan and a Hot Racing heatsink & 30mil fan on the motor. Def helps keep temps more stable.
Hobbywing max 6 will wake that thing up , plus you can bump up bec with the tuner. People say the receiver can't handle it but I've never burnt up a traxxas receiver by bumping up the bec.
Love the videos. I'm just not a Traxxas fan. I don't like the company not the RC. I can't wait for Sunny D, or twin sensored felony burn outs!! Can't wait for the giveaway!!!!
I got the wireless link too. Put it in for the xmaxx. It works but it doesn’t show correct data. Highest speed for example is always completely wrong. I don’t know if I like the Traxxas link that much … Great video as always 👍💪👊

Just got the link module but haven’t used it yet I thought there was a way to set end points on the servo’s. I really like that typhoon fan I’ll be looking into GC fans for sure. Definitely some great content on the last few vids with the sledge. Good info on the tear down and checking over it. Love these kinds vids , gives me references when I’m working on my RC’s
The link is good for the thing you've mentioned in the this video, it's like the program card for hobbywing escs for those of us who don't know how to use the computer to set up escs the hobbywing program card and the Traxxas link are helpful 😀
December 12 2022. Earl I believe setting end points on steering is misunderstanding? Setting end points is with your servo and receiver. Adjust servo from its furthest turning point and back off until your not hitting the full turn. Set should allow the servo to turn as far as you want it before it locks full turn. If you leave it and your servo wants to turn further than full lock, servo boom. Make sense? Transmitter has endpoint program and adjusters. Easy on stock Kraton slt3!!! Clizzle
The reason they will not let you change the voltage for the servo is they want you to buy the Traxxas BEC, which before I would do that I would put an aftermarket esc in.
One thing that would’ve been good to see is if there was a difference in the temp reading from the esc to the temp gun. Also, I noticed that a temp reading with fan running and fan off, there can be a difference when using the temp gun. I guess the fan on can affect the reading.
I only have the one RC for bashing right now and choosing a new car is a headache. My gf gifted me the link system for my Maxx and moving forward is hard, I'd like a faster servo but to get that I'd need 7.4v. I change the esc like everyone says and I lose link and my reciever as it cant take 7.4v so thats a new transmitter and reciever to boot and 200 quid down the drain. If I could do something similar for my servo ( working out what I need is a headache and I dont have the cash to make a mistake) another traxxas makes sense as I could have one controller with link for both and leave me to the nicer upgrades once I have more of a fleet rather than dumping all my money into one car. I hope that makes sense
Informative video. It’s obvious that game changer makes real cooling equipment. If money is no object maybe the telemetry. But for me it’s not worth the money. I’m better off spending it on gear I will use every day. Thanks for the video
I wish they'd figure out how to quiet down the fan or may e try a water cooling system for the motor. like run tiny little lines around the motor with aluminum tubing and have cold water flow through with a little pump and reservoir

I would phone you but the time difference & distance would kill us and my bank account through phone charge’s 😂. I’m really liking this sledge. People are already upgrading their sledge & I haven’t even got one yet. I’m waiting on v2 batch 2 or waiting to see if another vehicle gets released on this chassis 1st but this one seems pretty good as it is now. I might have to get this one earlier than I usually do. I’m conflicted

Man that thing really rips! 52 MPH on grass right off the trailer? The built in GPS is s really nIce feature, too. If just looking for top speed, there's $100 saved.
It would be great if you could bump up the voltage to the servo with the link. All it's really good for is speed, endpoints and brakes. That reefs 555 would be a little faster on 7.4. it's more a torque servo. Not very fast. The 444 is quicker I think. I love the game changer fans. I'm prolly going to get a regulator and fan off game changer. How much run time do you think one fan takes off of you? Thanks great videos
Yes I’ll install a bec so ppl can use stock esc and get what there looking for without spending $ on an expensive rc the esc good just lacks adjustability for sure 👍
wholly crap i thought that guy in the edge of the shot was throwin a ball at you. i usually keep a couple external BECs handy after learning that even though some go up 7.4 it just isn't enough for some of the 5th scale servos.
I've tried a link with my v1 maxx ,it's overrated IMO their designed to put more $ in Traxxas pockets. I would think Traxxas would have put some sort of fan on it and a wheelie bar would of been sweet 😋 .Got to love GC Fan's ❤
I think it’s only worth it to be able to set your trims, otherwise you have to buy every sensor to see temps and speed,be better to just buy a GNSS pro to see speeds.
Traxxas always keeps there temps down until we start gearing them up. Unless its a 100 degrees out. Stock gearing ⚙l bet you cant hit thermal shutdown. The can has fins they help pretty good 👍.what do think ? 🤔 whats a BEC is it like a cat pack ?

Did you top your center diff with 20million ? It settled from factory to under half full. I seen on a bunch of vids. Self right is just set for 4 seconds. And it wont have it on this rig cause of the wing. In my opinion.
Im gonna have to say naynay on the trx link unless it comes with the rig thats neat but dont spend the money . Get help getting it tuned the way you want ine time and leave it ... maxed out of course lol. . And i dont know why the sledge just looks so slow to me .. i cant see it being for me

Oh and the faster you go the Traxxas seems to lose just a little. did on my x01 cuz I know I done 162 and everybody said that you can cheat with the Traxxas but I killed the car so on my other Xo1 which is about a 132 car my Traxxas said it went 128 and my sky RC GPS said it went 132 so of course I went with the 132. But it's funny neither one of my x01 would do 100 straight out the box like everybody says they're getting a hundred and something you know whatever .but that being said mine infraction with a power hobby CAT pack and speed gear done 92 with 100c batterys anyway have good evening it's 11: 00pm here and you just posted this video about 15 minutes ago got to get my butt in the bed get up early in the morning
Hey, you gave me a good idea, I thought I would share. Not sure, but I think the 6 volt output of the reciever is enough to energize the coil of a 12 volt automotive relay. So you could use the "headlights" button on the traxxas link dashboard to turn Game Changer fans on and off remotely. Good idea or no?
I just bought the kraton exb then l got a max6 combo. Seems tight on motor and esc barely fits. Do you think that system is to big?. Only plan on 6s? Thanks l know you know your stuff so l value your opinion 👌👍👊💯💪💪
@@earlmoorhead5555 on Traxxas Sledge the telemetry chip you put in the back of the controller do you have to buy another piece to make it connect and work from the motor to the ESC to your controller the Bluetooth module
Truck seems super smooth the truck and system including braking is super smooth one reason l like Traxxas 👍. The app is great sucks its 35 bucks but it transforms the radio completely endpoints braking tells you temps. Everything speed its worth it. You can bind all your cars or at least 30 maybe more can't remember do you?. Definitely good investment. Did you justturn your servo up and what is your opinion on it now?
