Traxxas Maxx V2 After 1 Month of Abuse! 

hey, quick tip. for the skid plate screws, instead of drilling them out, you can get a dremel or metal saw and cut a slit in the top of each screw and use a flathead screwdriver to twist them right out! i do this all the time and it is super helpful.

No joke, this truck is stupid strong. Like Grandpa strength. Arguably stronger than the Xmaxx. Also sometimes half the cost to repair as well 🔥

Had my Maxx2 for about 3 weeks now. My only two complaints so far are… 1. The bed of the truck rests on top of the plastic rear bumper/wheely bar tabs. On big impacts the bed part of the body compresses down onto the rear bumper (2 tiny contact points) and that pressure is enough to cause the body to start cracking. You’ll notice it almost immediately when you start throwing air. I can tell Thunder RC had the same problem, notice how much worse the back end is chewed up than the front. 2. PLASTIC FANS 👎🏻 If you’re just a speed basher don’t worry the fans are fine. If you like YUGE air with impact, plan an extra $30ish to upgrade both your motor and ESC fans to aluminum. The lack of flex in the blades will save you repair time and money. Other than that, it’s a TANK. It’ll just eat whatever you give it 😂

I'd say considering the height and speed that thing has dropped from the damage is pretty minimal. Just got my maxx last week. I forgot how much fun this hobby is.

Had my maxx for 1 day and broke the axle already. Have steels on the way. Lol. Glad to see these things are basically bulletproof other than the hubs and axles.

I had to replace the top and the bottom bulkhead on mine this past weekend. I had a couple BIG cracks, and the knuckle that holds the right side bell crank snapped off. I’m so glad I took the time to switch those parts out this weekend. It runs great again. If I could just find a good set of tires for mostly on road/asphalt, I’d be happy. I’ve blown 2 completely different tires and I’ve only had it for 2 weeks. A sledgehammer tire and a stock Maxx tire. VERY frustrating. Thanks for the content brother!

I have been into high end RC for around a year now and I am still blown away by how much abuse these things can take.

That rig has done fantastic considering what she's endured. Glad you changed your mind about Bertha too. She has her place in the stable and can only do better with the M2C and other hop ups 💪. Wowzer, I loved the aerials. What are your thoughts on this Maxx V2 to the Hoss on comparable activities, stunts, etc.? Does the WIDEMaxx come equipped with a cooling fan? What were you using for your air blowing to clean out the internals? A compressed air tool or an air compressor? Thanks for the video and your time. Stay safe!

Looks like it stood up to a lot, minor damage considering the abuse. The rain on that metal roof is soothing for some reason lol.

I just got mine a few days ago. After running nitro cars for a while when I was a kid I can’t believe how fast this thing is. I busted the universal on the axle on the third day playing with it 5 minutes into running 4S for the first time. I was disappointed at first but after I took it apart I realized a piece of gravel lodged itself between the fin on the wheel and the hub. After hitting the throttle the motor must’ve had enough torque to blow the pin out of the universal so I can’t complain. Popped a new axle in and gave it hell when I got home I bet it’ll be good to go for a while now.

So glad I got this truck. Just got the metal hubs, the ones that work with stock everything. Will upgrade to the hot racing eventually. And I found this rubber/metal body trim that goes around the whole edge of the body off Amazon. Supposed to prevent cracks, we'll see. Took 2 of them about. Made the body a little heavier but will be worth It I think. And I can take it off like nothing if I don't like it. Looks like you have the same 17mm hex hub nut things in the rear that I got for all around? Definitely going to upgrade from and rear with the hot racing hubs and then hot racing hex. Thanks for the badass videos! Learned alot. If I ever want to go to 6s...do I just need a 6s esc and then I'm good to go?

I’ve been running a Arrma Big Rock and I love that thing. But, something breaks almost every time I run it. I can’t wait to get this Maxx. I love working on these cars, but it’s going to be nice to have a tougher truck.

That Maxx V2 is a beast. Love my V1. Good decision keeping the X-Maxx, you probably would have regretted selling it.

Great video bro. Really enjoyEd the tear down of the Maxx V2. Dunno what Traxxas are up to but the V2 Maxx is not available in NZ as of yet. Pity I think Traxxas are missing the boat a bit. The Arrma Fireteam will be in New Zealand LHS in 3 days. I even emailed Traxxas NZ a month ago but no reply. Guess my next rig will be another Arrma 🤔

Yeah it's hard to beat a Maxx or Xmaxx, some people say but they are all plastic, that's right that's why they are super durable....glad to see you keeping the XMAXX...

Commonly the Bearings go out go out dry up from dirt creating resistance recommend lil grease On inner and outer Bearing

Same old bulkheads problem, why traxxas don't redesign the bulkheads on the v2, since this problem occurred in the v1 already (if you send it high), also i think they all one more issue on the v2, the center driveshaft is longer and now it might bent easyer, my v1 never have the center driveshaft bent since i own it for two years.

What all do you need for your xmaxx? I have enough new parts on hand to build another xmaxx. Let me know, I'll donate to a brother in need!🤙💯

I actually cracked the piece under the from bulkhead that holds the hinge pins in one of the times I snapped a front bulkhead pretty good lol 🤷🏻‍♂️ just popped her back in with some gorilla glue but I was surprised nonetheless... I broke her good that day I guess 😁
