That’s awesome. Never knew these existed until today. I met a guy today who has one. Got it working for him. And it will be on the water tomorrow. The sound it makes is exciting for any true nitro fan.
hey i was wondering how many turns out are your screw cuz i cant seem to get mine tuned right and it take a while almost a 2 minutes to get it to plane
I started at the factory recommended 2.5 turns out on the high speed, and 1 3/4 turns out on the low speed. Now that it's broken in, I am just about 2 turns out on the high speed needle, (some days it likes 1 3/4), and I left the low end alone because it transitions from idle to throttle up pretty nicely. If you are having trouble getting it to plane, it may be the clutch, or the propshaft. I had problems with the propshaft binding due to low lubricant inside the propshaft tube. Hope this helps!
If your still looking for a prop I found the X440 it looks to be the best for the vee. I'm going to get it at some point it also will need to be sharpened and balanced. And you will need a new shaft the Traxxas Propeller Shaft EX should be fine. You should be able to get them both for around 30 bucks. Hope this is helpful.
So funny seeing this video with the brush-less power options, absolutely kills nitro :) No fuel, no tuning, no mess.... just insane brushless power hahah. Still a wicked model and I loved these as a kid, never had one.
