This motor and esc combo rips! Got it installed today with a 24/90 gear ratio. It doesn't seem to get hot at all running the 3s, but it's basically uncontrollable. So I'll be getting a good 2s. By the way, your video was my inspiration for getting a slash. Thanks for answering my questions about it and I may have more in the near future if that's cool.
Decent Send I had to use shims and had to use a Dremel to remove material to make it all fit. Since this I’v reverted back to the factory arms. I also did convert to 1/8 scale wheels and lcg chassis.
no but you might run the risk of the motor and esc getting hot and killing it.. with the 2s 5000mah i get about 30min of run time and if i change my gear setup i can hit 50mph. when i first got the sidewinder i ran a 7 cell nimh and it was fast too but just heavy. i posted a new video where you can see i added a fan to my esc.
I just flipped it upside down and backwards so that the stock bumper sits under the shock tower and the the old screw holes can be zip tied to the new rpm bumper
No i didn't have to change the drive shafts. i actually have been running the same drive shafts for 2 years, i have back up ones just haven't had to change them out yet.
I'm using the stock shocks in the rear with heavier oil. honestly if your thinking of upgrading your shocks I would do what I'm about to do and switch to 1/8 scale shocks
