Let’s go ahead and upgrade the steering servo gears in the Stampede 4X4 VXL to metal. This is another simple upgrade that will prevent future repairs to the servo as the stock plastic servo gears tend to break. Below you will find a link to where you can purchase the servo gears to the #2075/#2070

The tool used are the MIP bits and drivers (2.0/2.5), and the Milwaukee bit driver.

I was never a big fan of the Stampede but this newest one is pretty dang cool, still not something I would buy personally, I'm more into racing myself but hey what ever puts the biggest smile on your face is what I always say.... ✌🏻

Awesome! I went with gmp servo saver aluminum and the Traxxas 330 almost went with the 400 like I did in my Rustler

I bought my stampede yesterday and already broke my servo. Most definitely getting a metal servo.

Will post a little short of the Hoss,Rustler,and Stampede builds today going over to a local park. 1st time running them after the builds. Lol

In a way wish the Rustler servo was as easy to get to without always removing the front. Do you guys only run the Traxxas batteries? It's all I run yet everyone seems to bash them.

We only run Traxxas batteries, they have the best warranty. We tried Gens Ace, but the warranty wasn’t great and the customer service was even worse.

I think this is an upgrade that I will do. I could just replace the servo with a higher torque servo, but this upgrade is less expensive. Thoughts?

The 2270 servo would be a great upgrade, double the torque and not too expensive. I see so many others buy these cheap Amazon servos but they don’t last long.

@@redbanditracing I have used some Amazon high torque servos and I think that they were okay. I do have "Reefs", "Tekin" and "Savox" servos and they are much better. The Savox servos are power hungry. Spektrum radios will brown out with Savox servos. I wonder if a Traxxas radio will too? Thoughts?

As long as the voltage isn’t exceeded it shouldn’t. Most Traxxas ESC’s handle up to 7.4v

just wondring but for the rustler 4x4 the hotracing spur you guys have on is it steel or Aluminum? and do i need it upgrades pinion

The Rustler 4x4 VXL has the Hot Racing spur gear. Anytime you upgrade the spur to steel, upgrade the pinion to steel. Because the steel will chip the cheap pot metal material.

New to hobby just bought Stampede BL-2S If I just want to upgrade to a complete servo would you recommend 2270? Hope to see a video soon on upgrading to GTR shocks, don’t know if I want long, xx-long, which springs. Subscribed and looking forward to more videos on the Stampede!

The 2270 would be a nice upgrade from the 2075. It’s a smaller truck you don’t need excessive amount of steering force.
