I really thought this was a good video. I have had a Summit about a year and half now and time for the overhaul. Full bearing replacement, axle and driveshaft replacement.... I just got two of those savox servos with an aluminum servo saver. I think they will be much better turning not just in the rocks but turning those mudslinger 40's alone. I pretty much have the same exact Summit setup. The tires definitely give it personality!

i have the same set up. I took out the foams on the mudslingers and plug the drainholes. I also sliced out the smaller groove on the tires and they really make a differance on the traction,due to no build up of mud or anything else that the tires pick up. with or without the mudslingers the summit is just a fun truck to drive no matter what tires or servos or anything else that is on the summit. i know this, when you are out there throwin mud,snow or gravel you just hate to end the day. Great video. For crawling, the dual savox sw0231mg's with the washer modification is a pretty big upgrade. I'm running the huge big joe tires on my summit, the stock servos can barely turn them.

So I'm a little confused with these tires and rims setup does the stock system have trouble with those heavy rims?

Do you get any glitching or use a glitch buster. What some of the problems u came across with these servos

They use up a lot of power, I can see my lights flicker sometimes. They don't glitch at all which is good. They are not a huge upgrade from the stock ones but the difference is noticeable

For slow crawling and trailing i just ordered some mudslingers with aluminum wheels will I have to upgrade anything else on my truck. If so what do you suggest. Will the stock servos work and is the drive train tough enough?

I been following you for a while and we have also the same rc' s. I just notice the only upgrade you don't have on the summit that I just did and love it was the dewalt 14.4. Do you plan on upgrading to anything bigger?

I may end up doing a single Dewalt motor when the Titan wears out, but the so far the titan has been doing its job just fine

Rustlervxl09, how do you like the savox sw0231's? I am at the point that my summit is trashed so bad that I needed to fix the old girl up:) so I mean I have heard mixed reviews on them what are your thoughts? -Spence

+spencer 124 they dont make much difference when your moving fast. But when slow they can help quiet a bit. Imo not a huge difference

I had my summit 2 days and the servos shit the bed. I want max turning at any point of travel. May try something with more torque. Suggestions?

Like the truck. I am wanting to put those tires on mine but have seen other people having to cut down the wheels to make the tires fit? (making the wheels 2 inches wide) did you have to do this? and do you have the Axial part number for the wheels so I don't make a mistake when ordering them, as they have to be shipped to the Uk and are a lot of money and wasted time if I end up ordering the wrong ones!. Thanks.

I use 2 2s traxxas 5000mah lipo packs. No problem

I have had the same wheel and tire package on my summit for about 3 1/2 years now. Will be making the savox steering upgrade next. I prefer the 22c 7.4 volt, 7600 mha Traxxas lipo battery’s. Longer run time between charges. Traxxas part number 2869x.

Thanks for the info, did you narrow the beadlocks, I just narrowed mine made them 2inches wide, the jb wels has to harden then i'll mount them up? Did the stock servos handled the slingers ok? any broken drive shafts?

Stock servos wipl do you good along as your moving. I have not broken any driveshafts with the mudslingers yet. And I did not narrow with the bead locks. Let me know how yours turned out sounds cool.

Rustlervxl09 actually on my traxxas summit, after owning it for maybe 8 months, I really hardcore crawled with it, and just until recently, I just stripped both 2075 servos. I was driving along, and then all of a sudden I hear this horrible grinding noise, and both servos went bad at the same time. Now i have to save my money for a better savox metal gear servo mod, $80:(.

I hate those servos killed 2 of them with a red cat rs10, when they die keep the gears and put them in a traxxas 2075 servo its a great upgrade.

looks great man I love the wheels and tires! do you have any issues with the bead locks rubbing on the a-arms? I have the bead locks on my revo and they are rubbing pretty bad i was gonna put them on my wifes summit if they rub less!

They rub away a little of the arms but its nothing serious. You could probably fix this by sanding down the inner bead on the rim

Turn it with your fingers. It should not be hard to turn unless its dirty. In that case, id take all the shocks off and clean them so their easy to turn again.
