Fun video. I have the Red Bronco as well. Love it. It performes great out of the box, even better after I removed the spare tire and fake winch. And then even better with some diy weights in front behind bumper.

That is the truth! The gladiator got some new shoes since this video. I think Traxxas does have the best stock tires . Axial stock are plain awful! Liz has a vanquish with hyrax that will put a whoopin on any of our rigs! Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂😊☺

It’s crazy to see how much flexibility these little trucks have to offer, I also love how when you guys ran into some tough parts of the trail, you didn’t just give up and move it by hand. Problem solving is the way to go!

Both are fantastic rigs, I have the Trx4 Sport, and Gladiator. Out of the two, I think the Canyon Trails are slightly better but both trucks perform at another level once some sticky tires are mounted. Great course BTW!

Agreed traxxas stocks are much better. I'm not a fan of the axial nittos at all. Only set of hyrax we have is on our vanquish. It is awesome. Thanks for the visit and comment!

I love you guys. I hope to meet you some day. I'm just getting into rcing but my wife and I have a similar relationship and we've been married 36 years. She has a TRX4 2021 bronco RTR and I had (my first one) a SCX10.1 Xtraspeed custom, that I made as my first truck. I watched a lot of videos as I built it to understand what made a good crawler so it faired pretty well...but the TRX4 was impressive with the only change from stock being upgraded Al wheels and BFGKO2 tires (tires might not be as good as the Traxxas OEMs)...anyway, I just got myself a SCX10.3 kit Jeep Wrangler and I'm transplanting my Hobbywing AXE 2300kV and Powerhobby servo into the new truck...plus some other goodies. I hope I can stomp my wife's truck now. Again, you guys are great.

I have built a few unstoppable scale trail rigs, mainly out of the SCX10 & scx10 II rigs. I seriously love the Jeep 2000 XJ rtr!!! Mainly for rock crawling insane lines! If we're running scale trail with minimal rocks, then I am a traxxas TRX-4 fan boy!!! I add a 22T Pinion and love running the diffs, unlocked. Just because I love the challenge of having to drive it seriously. A little extra trigger, goes a long way!!! 😈

Awesome channel! I cant decide which one to buy as my first crawler. Gladiator looks nicer than the bronco. But the bronco rides better imo. Also i read about the dig servo. I might go with the bronco

Thanks 😊. And you've heard right about the dig servo. Didn't make it through our first battery pack. Other than that they are both great looking and very capable. Both have their pros and cons and both have enough upgrades available to make them perform however you want!

I just bought the gladiator. 4 mins outta the box my dig servo died. I did a stock replacement for $17 then my esc died. All in less than an hour. Waitin in horizon hobby to determine what they will do to fix it. Good luck with your decision!!!

I would love to run this course! Just got into rc crawling (rc anything) a few days ago my trx4 hightrail edition came in, I’ve been taking it all around hiking trails here in San Francisco it’s an absolute animal right out of the box! With a 2s 5800mah battery. Definitely recommend for anyone who sees this comment.

I’ve always wanted the TRX-4 red bronco but i had enough money for the SCX10 II and I like it. I’m planning on making big upgrades with it, if I were to get a new body do you think that the Jeep Cherokee would be a good choice? Maybe even an LC80 body.

Yes. For sure! Stock axial tires are plain awful. (Other than the ryft. Like those!) I've since put vanquish wheels and tires on it and it is much better. Still not the best but it looks great! Thanks for watching and your comment!

Yes!! We are planning g o. Adding lights this year. He's been on me for that. And yes we need more buildings. On the other side ..trail side..we have trails with street lights and a couple bldgs.

Do you find the locking and unlocking differentials to be useful or is it more of a gimmick in a crawler?

If you would be using it strictly for crawling you definitely don't need it. But with the 2 speed especially on 3s unlocking the diffs helps tremendously with handling and stability. A couple of trx4s racing tough truck style is a lot of fun. And the trx4 drive train can handle every bit of it! Thanks for the visit and the comment 😀 😊 🙂

@@Cooldibs I actually have been using the brushed holmes hobbies crawlmaster sport 8t in most of our rigs. It has great performance for only 20$ paired with a hobbywing 1080 it is hard to beat. Just installed that combo in our ecto and it is a beast.

@@Cooldibs the only brushless system we use in a crawler is in our vanquish. It is a spektrum 2100 kv. You could get 4 holmes/1080 combos for the same price lol 😆

I like driving the axial more but as a beginner I think I would go with the traxxas. It's a little more capable and with the 2speed it offers a little more variation in how you use it. Both are great though! Thanks for the visit 😀

Oh wow, that's tough. I would first say the are great looking trucks. Two of the best. The traxxas is probably a little more capable, better built,the 2 speed is actually useful (really fun too with a motor change. Got a video on that lol) but after said that there is something about the way axials drive that somehow seems more realistic. Hard to explain how. Just moves different. So for just plain slow crawling I would say axial but that is just my opinion and they both really are great! Thanks for the comment!

@@hellorc7678 Thankyou for that honest opinion. Me and my two sons are about to convert from bashing to scale rigs. All I’ve ever had is traxxas stuff but something about the axial I like more. So I was going to get me and my oldest the gladiator and my other son wants the 4 door jeep.

@@hellorc7678 yeah we had slash, stampede, few 4s Max’s and my 8s Xmaxx. We lost everything in a shop fire last month. A lipo blew up on charger. In the process of replacing 5k in rc stuff

@@jaycevessier7554 oh my. That's awful. These lipos make me nervous. I had a balance lead come unsoldered last week and a battery get way out of wack. Got it back in balance but haven't brought it indoors. Gonna keep it outdoors in a safe dry place till I'm sure it will be ok

@@hellorc7678 I'm currently looking at the axial scx 10.3 gladiator, guy is selling for 350, I have a trx4 sport, how do they compare

@@phillipgardner5836 if it is in good shape it sounds like a great deal. I think they are 550 new now. They really drive very differently. Trx4 is probably a little more capable but in my opinion the gladiator is more fun to drive. Seems to move a little more realistically to me. Also think it's much better looking than any trx4. All just my opinions of course. Tons of upgrades for both to make them perform how you want! -Jason

Traxxas is so much smoother, the drivetrain is incredible, axial still have a long way to go to catch the trx4.

I love my 10.3s but the nitos are straight trash, i like em for trailing and light crawling but everywhere i go gladiator and jlu, they both spun like crazy on the nitos, chaged my tires and walked everything

@@hellorc7678 nitro rcs? Its like a gas rc but it takes a glow plug instead of a spark plug, and runs on nitro fuel, and always real small like a 10th scale

Sucks might be a little strong but yes, with the stock axial tires it definitely struggles a little to hang with the bronco. We love them both. They are both great in different ways. Thanks for the visit and the comment!

@@petr9156 no worries man. Loved the comment. Glad it helped you. The axial does not have locking/unlocking different. The Trx4 is an amazing rc. And with the 2 speed it can bash a little too.
